The actual mice tails are sold out everywhere around me and way to expensive on Amazon so i "made" my own with the pink power worms and different power eggs for a different color combo, scent profile and in general just to try them out and started landing fish when no one else was!! Great video!
They sell out quick at my local tackle shops. But funny enough I never see anyone fish with them at public lakes I go to... 🤔
The guy I was speaking to earlier in the week said he has them in his tackle box but never had any luck!! They went for mine first and second cast, so I told him to give them another go!
I don't know a 12 inch hook sounds a little excessive. : ) 2:16
Did I say 12 inch? I meant size 12...
@@WillyFish Yea I know just a little rib.
🤣 Yeah I was like man...12" hooks, they must be good for King Mackerels as well!
It's UA-cam not Discovery channel. 😋
🙋
Sometimes times I'll take the small egg rip it off and put on the hook use as a regular power egg then the tail I put on a small jig head and lately bounce it or jerk it off the bottom. It does work.
Another great video and more great information. Tight lines.
That's a great tip! I will have to try that next time out!
I love using a trout magnet jighead under a fixed bobber. Killer. Also berkley trout dip works great. Same with pautzkes steelhead or anise scents
all those scents are amazing and some of my favorites!
I haven’t caught one on a trout worm or mice tail yet. Gotta try it under a bobber like you had suggested. I’ve only tried it floated off the bottom.
Try the bobber setup. I think you will see more hookups, especially when the trout are higher in the water.
I catch a lot of trout using power eggs and mouse tails together. I use a Carolina Rig and first one power egg just above the hook then put on a mouse tail through the egg end first. I find the power egg lets the mouse tail float better. Works great for me.
Definitely a slayer of a bait. IMO if you are trying to float them, pay attention to your hook size and weight. It's real easy to end up in the mud otherwise. Very versatile bait to rig for different presentations
Absolutely Rick! Too heavy of a hook is something you definitely have to watch!
Also when you buy garlic eggs you can also add the ball and put the worm below it....trying to give tips myself
That's a great tip!
😮thank u I’m trying this,this Sunday.
I just got orange onces can't wait to try them
Get after them Chuck! Let me know how you do with the orange ones!
@@WillyFish for sure I'm going in a week long derby may first
Thanks for the video. What’s your most successful colour combo?
I can never go wrong with pink & white. It's just consistent all the time!
I typically see only smaller trout 1 lb. or smaller fish caught on mice tails from the banks; larger trout seem prefer live floating night crawlers on small "J" hooks. If fish size doesn't matter to you go for it with mice tails. (Trout fisherman derby winner)
Great info Manny! But if you add some secret scents to the mice tails, I have caught a few tanks by adding some secret sauce!
I catch 22 in trout bottom fishing with mice Tails. Oregon fishing club member.
In heavily pressured ponds I’ve seen people reel in their limit in less than an hour using these. Meanwhile everyone else catches 1 or 2 for the whole day
Mouse tails
Is this considered "bait" or artificial? Can I use this in "Artificials Only" gold medal water...legally?
Man thanks for not showing any examples or actual setups...
