Yeah, Yamaha sets the motor below ever so slightly under the frame. So if I use my motorcycle jack, the arms rest on the oil pan…. So the boards work as long as I don’t need the wheels off the ground.
Having this problem with my bike. Bought it from a friend. Ran great. Cleveland and back. Ride it for about two weeks after. Leave for a three day weekend and it won’t start. New battery and plugs. No spark. Could this be the problem?
Yes, could very well be the issue. It’s kind of a pain, but remove the fuel tank and you’ll see the 2 coil packs. Take a resistance reading across the terminals. Your Ohms should read between 182-222 ohms @68 degrees F. If they are within that range, the coil packs are good and 95% the stator. I should add that I cooked a regulator/rectifier. My battery was toast and I had a friend jump start the bike while his car was running. I didn’t think anything about it, about a week later no spark. I looked around on different forums and saw that about jump starting the bike while the car is running can fry the regulator rectifier. Who knew? I replaced that and worked great…. Until the stator went. So if you haven’t jump started the bike like I described, your stator failed. Yamaha is very proud of them… you can find them on Amazon for 1/4 price.
Thanks for the response! Removed the gas tank last night and the seats. Brought home my meter from work. I will be giving it a try. I’ll respond back once i find out. Thanks again!
You didn't show any type of the process of taking it apart what was the purpose??
I’ll check and see if I have any video of removing the three screws to remove the stator and update the video.
Just like working on my bike - take a bunch of stuff off just to get to the primary item. God job.

This is why your teachers wanted you to show your work reather then just writing the answers bro didn’t show anything
Thanks for your input.
What website you order it off of?
I ordered it from Amazon
Caltric Stator and Gasket... www.amazon.com/dp/B00O8X6FRW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Another video not showing where the stator connection is
Connection goes up the frame under the seat and both plugs are located under the fuel tank.

Let me know if you need anything further. Happy to help.
missing the most important parts in the video :(
I’ll check and see if I have any video of removing the three screws to remove the stator and update the video.
I have done the stator and pick up with 2 new coil packs and still no spark, could it be the CDI or do I need to time the bike?
Did you check the fuses? Maybe a new set of plugs. The CDI is expensive. If it’s the one I am thinking of, it sits behind the battery.
@@gnjadventures i found a CDI i ordered. Fuses are good, plugs and coils are new. Wiring looks together. Scratching my head lol
pretty vague.
There is a new video out out a few days ago on replacing a stator
Bro!!🤦🏾
