- The Baja-style fish taco is quite possibly the taco king of the West Coast. In this episode, we'll trace its origin back to the Mercado Negro in Ensenada, while also visiting some of the best fish taco stands of the region.
Later on, Fara crosses the border to know Rick Rubio, the man responsible for popularizing that taco in the US, finishing with a visit to the Chulavista based torta and taco truck Corazón de Torta.

I was in San Felipe in 2002, my first time to Mexico. I had shrimp and fish tacos so many times. To this day, it's one of my favorite foods and I haven't been back in nearly 20 years. Looking forward to returning.

@@Ben546 it really depends on how the sea is, most people are fine with heavy chop but the moment there is just a slow moving swell they get sick. ive seen many people who claim to never get sick on a boat to see them hurl over the egde lol. dont ruin your trip trying to "tough it out", go get sea sickness patches from the doc, they work, gravol doesnt. cheers!

My first fish tacos were in San Felipe, Baja California Mexico and they’re still my favorite.
Wish I could try that genuine thing in California. I’m in New Jersey. I wonder if I can find a good Mexican place in New Jersey I’m sure I can. There are plenty of Mexican and other nationalities restaurants here all over.

My grandma worked as a fish processor back in the day in ensenada and gave my dad the recipe we use to this day at our small restaurant out in ventura ca ! The flavor of baja is amazing and a must try check us out right off the 101 (Baja Bay Surf n Taco) our best seller is the FISH TACO and how crazy it is to watch this video showcasing places I grew up eating at as a young kid never did I think I'd be cooking with my family to make a living.
Please please give us something close to the recipe? At least the salsa rojo and the batter. Actually the crema and what's the best fish? For the love of God the whole list. Please and thank you! 🙌

If you guys want realllly good fish tacos , try out a restaurant in El Monte,Ca called itaxo. They have the best fish, shrimp, and calamari tacos! BUT what takes it to the next level is their MANGO HABANERO SAUCE!!!
