Cool episode, especially because usually we never get to see the "good" side of Sinaloa here in America; I'll be honest... before this video I was so controlled by the media and news (which I barely even watch, in the first place) to think that the cartel had nearly 100% control, and basic life was nearly impossible in this area. Thanks for shining more light on this part of the world!
Mexico isn't as bad as it's been said on the news but not by much. I've lived in Arizona my whole life but have a lot of family and friends in Northern Sonora, supposedly the safer side of Sonora and much safer than Sinaloa. I've had cousins pistol whipped nearly to death, friends have had their houses shot up, one of the neighbors in Ures(a little town of about ~5000 people, about a 45 minute drive east of Hermosillo) had their house literally blown up and survived cuz they managed to get out right before the cartel got there. A month and a half ago, a friend of 20 years was kidnapped, beaten to death, dumped in a wash near his ranch and found a couple weeks before the random money was collected. And the police aren't much better, they work with the cartel and have their own racket going; lower class Mexicans spend something like 30% of their income on bribing police officers. Convenient for us Americans to pay $50 or $100 and forget about it, but that's a lot of money in pesos and if you live there it'll be happening more than once. So no, Mexico's not an active warzone but everything could use some improvement.
Man Paul was hilarious he should accompany you on all your taco adventures 👍🏽 this is the best series on munchies super real super out in the field A1 stuff 😁
