Matt probably just doesn't know how to count to 10T because he's unfamiliar with numbers outside of the decimal system. In base-32 (which uses the distinct values of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, ... V), 10T = 1053. T being the 30th distinct value equals 29 (just as 0 being the 1st distinct value equals 0). The 1 is multiplied by 32^2 to equal 1024 (just as in the decimal system it would be multiplied by 10^2). 1024+29 = 1053.

Ghost guard is a real thing! There's a story from BMT (basic military training), where a drill sergeant told a trainee to "be a ghost". The trainee then proceeded to make ghost noises throughout the day. It was so funny even the drill sergeant laughed a little.

Army, you have to call them Drill Ssgt.
In the Air Force we addressed all Sergeants and Training Instructors as Sir. I think it was because lower enlisted in the Air Force typically worked with or came into contact with Officers much more often at duty station.
@@PrimePrius marines do it as well. They also when calling their drill instructors by name said "Drill Instructor..."
In the Navy we call them by there pay grade, so Chief or Petty Officer.

So maybe Matt isn't bad about keeping in character, but Jason is just really good at making people break and they're often paired together. But seriously made me crack up watching all of them try to keep it together 😂

fun fact: only officers are referred to as "sir". Also, according to his patch, he is a corporal, not a sergeant. And drill instructors in the army are always referred to as "drill sergeant"... they are referred to as "drill instructor" in the marines.
In the Navy there RDC's and are called by there pay grade.

I think that they legitimately tried to get as much wrong with the uniforms here as possible without it being obvious.
I think that they wrote the script and then raided the costume department, and since this isn't a war movie or a documentary they didn't know or care that the two didn't align "correctly." It's funnier that it doesn't, attention to detail doesn't usually earn you points here.
It gets expensive to buy all the props you need for every sketch. It’s much cheaper to reuse when possible

Favorite "pert" was how relatable the whole ghost bit was. We had a kid in Basic got caught looking outside at the junior company, so our CC's made him hold water cups up to his eyes like binoculars so he could 'see his new company' better.
I think tenty is fifteen. It's a 50/50 mix between ten and twenty. And numerically, a 50/50 cross between ten and twenty is fifteen.

Uniform issues aside, this is pretty accurate for if the instructors mess up. They just have to roll with it. Admitting a silly mistake is simply a sign of weakness
It can be difficult for civilians to completely do uniforms correctly. Heck, we've got plenty of military personnel that fail just as horribly.
I feel lile owning up to the mistake would be the sign of true strength and self-assuredness. Also, plenty of clever ways to turn it around still,
