Darinka Cano exactly what i said when i was deciding between ice skating and roller skating! 3 months later and im already on my clubs figure skating team, best decision. not only its so damn fun, its an easy way to stay active. im obsessed
Did it the 80's when I was a young girl. It was height if skating culture. Never understood why it didn't get indicted in the Olympics. I hope one day. Skating changed my life. I started with skates outside on the pavement. Then did group classes before getting private lessons. Thought I'd be a coach with my life, but ended up becoming a college professor and author instead. Skating taught me discipline, tenacity, persistence, and gave me drive. I wouldn't be person I am today without skating in my youth
This is so cool! I'm beginner artistic skater from New Zealand as well and its so inspiring to see people like you doing so amazing at such an amazing sport
Hiii !! hello there ! i'm a professional artistic roller skater and i want to thank you for taking the time to create content about our sport, it definitely needs more recognition. This video is awesome! Just one thing i must point out ( as i'm a coach too ) at 2:01 there's a clip of you doing a double toeloop if i remember correctly, now what i immediately noticed is that is not done correctly as there is too much anticipation on the jump itself, see the pointing toe should be closed facing "forward" yet if you pause the video, you can see how open it is causing the whole body to be anticipating the jump and eventually slowing down the rotation. If you manage to repair this problem i'm sure you can improve also the rotation by landing a triple. I didn't mean to be "judging" in a wrong way, i just wanted to let you know that is a clear mistake, but i'm sure that you have an high level coach teaching you great things on the rink ! ( sorry if i made grammar mistakes, English is not my first language)
I started artistic skating again at age 47. You're too old if you tell yourself you are! I am not even the oldest skater to return or even start as a beginner in my club. I encourage you to get to it if you really want to!
There's no age limit if you want to learn how to skate! I fallow UA-cam channel minasees and she started skating at 17 or 18 I think and won a competition too. One might not be able to make it to the Olympics but if you really want to learn how to skate, wether on ice or by roller skates, it's possible!
I go to meets and see people with gray hair competing! They don’t do all the jumps and stuff, they just compete in dance and figures, but it is still incredible!
I love artistic skating. This sport should get more attention and recognition from the media, specially now that IRF started the World Roller Games.
The best decision I ever made, was deciding to do roller skating.
Jessie Pitiroi yes! Ice skating can only be made on a rink but roller skating, you can literally do it in the street or even in your living room xD

You're so lucky how I wish my parents were supportive to sports and roller skating was available here in our city

I ♡ roller skating to the moon + back xx
One of the best decisions I ever made was to take up artistic rollerskating, and this girl Katelyn is exactly the kind of skater I aspire to be.
Uuuh that's sooo cool I'm an artistic skater and if my coach thinks I'm ready I'll be doing a competition in August!! I'm so exited!!
I wish I could do this. I can only skate once a week for 2 hours and teach for an hour a week at a disco.
full respect for you guys on roller skates, so much harder than on ice and more dangerous

You're never too old! Just get on skates and try. It's really fun, and it's my passion. You'll love it if you really want to try.

Does this have an age limit? I've seen people saying a pro ice figure skater retired at 26 and that it was typical which was sad to hear...
