+Jade The Libra Would I get a weird reaction for asking the salon to just lift my hair?? I know a lot of salons kind of frown upon clients who try to do it themselves (I'm sure only when the clients fuck up though lmfao) but the main reason I haven't dyed my hair in such a long time is because I do nooooottttt want to even touch bleach, but I do want to experiment with colors at home!
sameethehairstylist i did it myself and it looks fine. a few yellow tones, but nothing that cant be fixed easily. ive also had it done proffesionally. not much difference in my experience

Well yes some stylists are still inexperienced, so i never recommend just walking into a salon and going to anyone. Definitely do your research. Especially now that alot of stylists post their work online.

crybaby Really? That's interesting...I got the same warning from several people. I've been coloring my ends blue for 4-5 months now and they fade to grey (: What I do is mix a grey color and a lavender color, then I just add in the tiniest amount of blue.
I still kinda love the silvery hair color before you dyed it!

***** I love lavender hair!! It will look magical! Pravana makes a beautiful lavender color in their pastel line, but you can also just use a few drops of their purple vivids with conditioner and make your own! I just know buying the pastels means I can't mess it up haha! I'm not one for surprises!
It's my favorite color and I wanted to do it before school started but I found out my school didn't allow it and my heart shattered. I've been looking at the Pravana pastel dyes and dreaming about it hahah. I can't wait though, at least my hair will be longer in the summer.

We're not even allowed to wear makeup (although everyone does) and they won't say anything if you dye your hair a "normal" color but purple isn't acceptable. I was thinking about coral too but decided on lavender!

mademoisellewaskeau Haha! Thank you so much! I'll film this makeup look, but it's pretty similar to my Frances Bean Tutorial, but with a nude lip. I did use a few new products I got, so I'll totally film it. There's a red shadow I got from Lunatick Cosmetics that is killing me right now that I used in this look!

I love your ombre hair, it's so cool! When my hair is longer I'm hopefully going to ombre it, right now I'm just letting my roots grow in! I love the Pravana, but anyone reading this be warned: if you're using the vivids instead of pastels either mix with the silver or clear...I used the concentrated vivid violet on my hair once and it stained literally everything purple. Eek.
Fairly Interested Ah!! Yes! This is why I used just a few drops of blue in with the silver instead of adding the whole bottle! It would have been bright blue if I would have used the whole thing! That's what I love about the pastel line, I don't have to worry about mixing it exactly the same every time with conditioner and the vivids. I can't wait to see how your hair turns out when it's longer girl! I already love the purple, so I can only imagine it will be amazing!
If I may ask, what color does the hair need to be bleached so the mint/grey will stay? A 'banana peel' color? Thank you, love your videos
Carol M Thank you so much for the question and for showing some love!! Okay, I'm horrible at explaining things, but here we go haha! I usually bleach to the color of butter and tone with a violet toner to get out the yellow color. If you have previously colored hair and it doesn't lift past a banana color, don't push it any further and just try to tone as much yellow out with a purple toner as possible. If your hair is still yellow, it's fine, but the end result will just be the dye color plus the yellow color of your hair. I explain it as taking a blue marker and drawing on a white piece of paper vs. a yellow piece of paper. The blue will look different because the base is different. Same with hair color. I hope this makes sense haha! I'm the worst!! Let me know if you have any more questions! I'm happy to help! Thanks so much for watching my friend!!

Specialists ruined my hair twice. 3 years ago and 6 months ago, after it was grown out! So sometimes it's better to try it at home with things you know, because you sometimes know your hair better and how certain products react with it.

Heidi Linder I'm planning on doing a video on this soon, but one thing that has really saved my hair is Olaplex. I use the conditioner once a week and it has given my hair life! I also use the Pureology shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner for platinum hair. I think the line is called "Perfect 4 Platinum" but it's great for any blonde hair or heavily lifted hair.

Did you mix the blue with the pastel blue? I noticed that the first tube of blue was much darker than the second, but second step just said "squeeze blissful blue into bowl". I wasn't sure if both tubes were blissful blue and the colors just were a little different,which is happened to me with Pravana colors, or if they were two different colors. If you did say mix Pravana blue with the blissful blue and I missed it, I'm sorry. I'm doing my hair tomorrow and want to make sure I use the right colors. I just stumbled across your channel and I'm binge watching all of your videos. You have such a unique style and are so fun to watch! I'm so glad I found this tutorial because this is exactly what I wanted to do with my hair ❤️❤️❤️

Also, such an awesome question, because I was actually double checked to make sure it was right when I was doing it since one tube almost looked like the neon blue, but they were both Blissful Blue. It actually made me a bit nervous when I was mixing it, but it came out the exact same as any other time I used it. I'm not sure if one tube was older than the other, but hey it turned out the same haha! Okay, so to make sure I'm not being confusing (cuz I tend to do that a lot) both bottles were the Blissful Blue, and they were true to color even though the tubes looked like two different colors. +Jade The Libra thanks for your reply! I've had that happen with Pravana Vivids before. With the silver and wild orchid. The wild orchid turned came out much darker and more red than usual but on my hair it came out the same color as it always had but the silver was much lighter than normal and came across that way on my hair. Thanks again for getting back to me! I did my hair today and it looks so good! All thanks to you and this tutorial.

Jessica Bissett Hahaha! If I were using the vivids I would have worn gloves, but the pastels don't stain my hands. It's like a less intense version of the super vivid colors! Phew! Hahaha! You have inspired me to do this! I LOVE this vintage mermaid color feel! I currently have about 4 inches of grow out a band of brassy blonde and the ends are bright. Any suggestions as to how to lift/bleach the most efficiently without going to the salon, Salons near me do more harm than good, I'd rather do it myself. I normally bleach with Clairol Basic White and a 40 (in two separate bleachings, one back head, one top head, washing inbetween, and I use 40 cuz after having kids my hair resists bleaching for whatever reason) Any Luck or info on the L'Oréal les blondissemes platinum collection (out of box)??? Could I do a box of that and then do this Pravana color? Or just avoid boxes all together? I tried a box years ago that was great (maybe a nice & easy kit?) but haven't had much luck since and avoid box bleaching for that reason since I brass. Thanks for your time!

Kara Nicole Thank you so much! I never regret a hair color once I do it, but I do psych myself out before I actually do it and sometimes when the color is in my hair and it's too late haha. I've seen some girls start with bleaching the ends of their hair and adding color to see if they like it. Plus it's a bit more subtle if you're not wanting a head of blue hair! I say why not? Haha!
Definitely agree! I want to do blue tips anyway but I kinda wanna grow my hair out a little more before in case for whatever reason it goes horribly and I just completely hate it! I've hardly dyed my hair before so I'm always afraid of that. D: But I definitely want to try it out anyway and you always give me more confidence to do so!
