    Thank you for this - helping with the information.
    Q - what sphere of the law did you see yourself in when you were studying and when you were still a ca and, are you there now or has it changed?

      Road to 1k yay🎉🎉
      I've always loved property law. I still do.
      I wanted to become a conveyancer and deal only with property. Right now im based in a litigation law firm. Im happy where I am. Im learning so many things that I would have missed if i decided to become a conveyancer only.
      I still have that passion for property but more on the business side than the conveyancing side.

    A paralegal working at legal aid with 0 years of experience earns at about 17 thousand per month so how can it be that a paralegal makes more or less equal to an admitted attorney?

    • @MapulaSethosasWorrld
      @MapulaSethosasWorrld  3 роки тому +5

      Hello. Legal aid is a state entity. Working in a private law firm you basically earn your stripes the longer your are in the profession. Hence it's said when becoming an attorney you really have to work your way up.

    • @siphesihletom4933
      @siphesihletom4933 3 роки тому +4

      @@MapulaSethosasWorrld Imagine how your ego would be bruised knowing that a paralegal makes more than you do. No thank you andizi to the attorney's profession. In all honesty, it seems to me that it is only the directors of the firm that enjoy the profits, if you're merely an associate you'll earn peanuts, unless you work for one of the bigger law firms such as your Addams&Addams. Perhaps one should also look into prosecution. I know that during your aspirant prosecutor training one would be earning between 16k-21k and after qualifying one would be sitting comfortably at 26k with benefits. The NPA recently advertised a vacancy for a chief prosecutor with a salary of 1.3 million p.a. you'd have to be a director of a well established law firm in private practice for u to earn that amount of money. Let's weigh up our options legal eagles

      I'm in accounting and Ivee been through the most with my Honours degree and all. And people who have a 1 year certificate in finance or lower nqf level are well paid cause of where they work. I on the other hand have been hopping from contract to contract never making more than 10k.
      I had to make the decision to go back to school and yes, even as a chartered accountant I might find that people who are less educated make more money.
      Problem with dwelling on that is, there'll always be someone who makes more than you and also less than you. Life owes us nothing.

    Is the anything wrong with obtaining a LLB at a college

    • @MapulaSethosasWorrld
      @MapulaSethosasWorrld  3 роки тому

      There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just double/triple check that the institution is accredited to offer an LLB. It would be such a waste at the end of your degree and you find out it’s not accredited

      I believe it would be a bad idea to take on any career where the fundamental thing you do as part of the career is something you don’t like to do. You HAVE to be good and quick at reading if you want to be a good lawyer. You’ll need to do research that means reading old cases and their judgments; you’ll need to find and read statuses that work in your favor and those that work against your opponent. In order to find loopholes in the law and make them work to your advantage you need to read.
