    Lemme tell you this:
    1) nobody is gonna hold your hand anymore and Guide you thru assignments and stuff.
    2) manage time effectively or else it’s over.
    3) study
    4)study
    5) socialise. You’ll need these friends later for group project 2yrs down the line.
    6) ask questions

    I'm a hospital pharmacist working graveyard shifts, so I take my engineering classes in the afternoon. I'm in my 3rd year in BS in Electronics Engineering. (I'm 26)
    1. Study three topics in advance and try to find the hardest question possible for those topics and study how they are solved. If you can answer those, then whatever the professor will give, will be easy.
    2. Get enough amount of sleep no matter what. It's gonna be worthless if you will grow a tumor getting 4.0 gpa in an engineering major.
    3. After you pass the subject, always review it from time to time maybe an hour or two in a day off / weekend so that you won't forget it.
    4. Take your minor classes in Summer and try to learn the next major subject in advance through other platforms (youtube).
    Why I still went to school after becoming a pharmacist ( I did pharmacy for the $$$ and im doing engineering for the passion).

    2:22 just wanted to get this warning out there, if you planning to use the new apple m1 stuff, such as the new macbook air, you CAN'T use bootcamp anymore because apple apparently decide to put their own stuff in it, which is not what other windows laptop expecting, however, it can be change over time and the development of new version of bootcamp, while waiting for that you can still use virtual machine, but with many limitations ofc, one of the biggest is the performance, I probably can make longass explanation about it, but I'll try to simplify it a bit for the sake of simplicity.
    Let's imagine you use a software that made for os A on platform 1, but you have os B on platform 2, so you need to put the os A on a wrapper or container like a jar (in this case is virtualization).
    But remember, you virtualize os A on a os B on a platform 2, so now you need to translate the code made for platform 1 so platform 2 can understand it.
    After reading it all back, I think it'll be better if I explain it like what it is without any oversimplification.
    But anyway, is there are any alternative?
    Yes of course!
    First, you can use vps (basically just virtualization, but instead of doing it on your mac on a m1 arm platform, vps is a big blob of cloud that live somewhere with (mostly) x86 cpu which is what most of windows machine use) like I did, however, it's quiet expensive for my liking. I use contabo vps with 6vCPU and 16gigs of ram and with no gpu (so you can't do advance simulation, you can do it with AWS, alibaba, or azure if you want), which cost me about $40 for the first month and around $33 for the rest. The down side with vps is, it is virtualization, so you can't use other virtualization such as Android emu on Android studio to test your app or even wsl, but since you use mac, you probably can still use those on you mac.
    Second, buy older model of mac, this is the easiest way I think.
    Third, why don't you just.., you know, use windows laptop, this would be cheaper than the other options.
    Fourth, I haven't find one, so you can stick to vm until there are any other way out.
    Cmiiw
    Thanks a lot for reading btw.

    On the laptop, if you can't afford one you can get through the degree without it, assuming your university / college supplies computer labs. Nothing wrong with paper notes, just an issue when it comes to reports, CAD, coding etc. Also don't organise your workload by time i.e 'I am going to do 2 hours of study for statics today' because you will not know how much work that equates to, I found it better to divide my work into measurable success such as 15 pages of a textbook or 10 questions etc, added bonus is satisfaction.

      @arshdeepsingh8578 5 місяців тому +1

      @@mannz6411 it's tough but if you make a nice group of friends with the same degree it'll make it easier also make a list of all of the assignments you have and do them accordingly and don't push everything off till last minute. Try to complete assignments earlier so you can go to your professor to help look over them so it looks proper. Also, finish your assignments before going out, it's okay to stay a few nights in to crank out your assignments. as well as try to do every extra credit assignment like do please cuz sometimes it can come in clutch. Also, don't be scared to ask questions in class and if you do you can also ask them during office hours. I really recommend using office hours they can be really helpful and you're able to get the proper help instead of trying to find it on the internet and it may end up being wrong even when using AI bots. Also if your school provides tutoring take full advantage of it. Also, try to become friends with upperclassmen since they can guide you to the right path. Lastly, you will lose sleep and might think you're not enough but you are amazing times will be tough but I believe in you and that you can get through it. It's going to be hard to trust but it'll all be worth it in the end.

    Here's my advice, seek imbalance. Ditch hanging out, delete all the games off your phone, give your gaming systems away and don't even keep a TV in your apartment/dorm. Wake up at 4, workout for 30 minutes to an hour, then start studying. Eat breakfast. Study. Go to class. Study. Go to class. Study. Eat a small lunch. Study. Study. Study. Go to sleep around 9:30-10pm. Repeat. This for the 2 year Bachelor's warriors. We take 6-8 classes. We're there in the summer, A and B sessions. Now of course you're gonna have clubs, organizations, mabey even sports, dating, friends....life....but those are not daily obligations. Set boundaries. You want to make sure 80% of your time is actually on studying and comprehending the curriculum. 20% for other obligations.

    • @Charlesmadeit
      @Charlesmadeit 2 роки тому

      As long as you’re decent student overall (75th percentile), you have good chances of getting into an engineering program at your state school. I wouldn’t be too stressed about going to the most prestigious schools because you can get a good education at so many other places.
      But if you want to improve your chances of getting accepted you should focus on sat/act scores, extracurriculars, course rigor, gpa, and essays.
      Extracurriculars are extremely important. They set you apart from all the other people applying. I think they might even be more important than your gpa and test scores when it comes to more prestigious schools. Assuming youre doing decent academically, this should be what you focus on the most.
      I’d recommend you look into PSEO or AP classes. They look better on an application and prepare you for college courses.
      Good luck on your chemistry class!

    i wish my professors would explain things in a way that made more sense to me or made it easier to tie big ideas together. sometimes they relate unrelated topics to the material, which is not helpful for me. or they use notation that ive never seen before in prior classes with similar ideas. or they rush all the slides at you so theres barely any time to write anything down and then not post them until its the end of the semester. or they dont grade stuff timely and or they dont give good feedback or barely any at all.

    Yo I’m going to western. Been watching the vids. Helped a lot but should I go into electrical or mechanical. I’m going to Western Uni by the way, and thinking of doing Ivey. I don’t have much preference but like idk man, I don’t know what kind I want to be, if at all be an engineer.

      That’s a tough decision. I don’t know u well enough to be able to recommend either mechanical or electrical. Do u see urself designing the enclosure of an iPhone or the PCB inside the iPhone? Based on that, u would have a better idea and to be honest u can’t go wrong with either. I’m terms of whether or not engineering is right for you, u just have to try it out (through clubs, design teams, coursework, etc.) to find it out. Is there else that u think u would like?

      @@TamerShaheen well I like both equally. But my dads an electrical engineer and he says it’s the “best” one in terms of work life and pay. The reason I’m leaning a bit towards electrical cause i feel like I won’t like auto cad but then isn’t electrical engineering a lot harder in uni.

    doesn't zlib have pirated books in it?
    I really liked the video, it just bothers me sometimes to think that there is a problem with using these resources. I downloaded a drawing book from there (zlib specifically) and found out that the book was copyrighted and kindle version costed like 23 USD, unfortunately that specific book is just scattered around the internet in general, you can just type the name and multiple resources offer it for free. I'm not sure about these stuff anymore, sometimes it seems like the copyright holders gave up and don't really care if anyone uses the product for free or not and do something like what non-profit web-sites do, but instead of donating you actually buy the product.

      I think a laptop would be better than an iPad Pro for two reasons. First, the file management on a laptop is easier to use and more convenient. Second, some software that u may need to use during ur school will only be available on a laptop.

    Hi should I opt for mechanical engineering as their are mixed reviews 🤔 and mostly negative ones which is teasing Me to take future step
    I am getting it in their 2 college
    And cs and all their 3 but programming coding I don't think I will be able to perform all time efficiently
    And If everything goes well I may also go abroad (Germany, Canada) for masters
    Pls help out ☝☝

    • @TamerShaheen
      @TamerShaheen  3 роки тому +1

      If you’re asking about the difference between Mechanical and CS and which is better, it’s hard to say cuz it depends on what u enjoy. There’s nothing negative about mechanical, however CS and programming tends to have more jobs available and they can pay more sometimes too...especially if u work in the Bay Area. But, if u don’t like coding, then u shouldn’t get into it just for the money
