Write the Fraction 7/8 as a Decimal

In order to change 7/8 to decimal form we need to divide 7 by 8. We know that since 7 is smaller than 8 we are going to end up with a number less than 1.
We can divide 7/8 with a calculator or do it longhand. In this video I did the division longhand (but checked my answer with a calculator). When we divide 7 by 8 we get 0.375. So:
7/8 = 0.375
0.375 is less than 1 so that is a good way to check if our answer is reasonable.
Note that 7/8 and 0.375 represent the same quantity, the are just written in different formats. 7/8 is a fraction and 0.375 is decimal.
