One cab say that "Les Nations" were conceived as a "sonata da camera" (suite of dances) with a ltge introduction which is itself a "sonata da chiesa". For that, Couperin used three among four previously written sonata da chiesa, discarding one and writing a new one/ The rendering is very pleasant and colourful, using the traditional "ossia" in terms of instruments used. A nice and so delicate masterwork in this series of fou "nations". Couperin was not only a harpsichordist, even if harpsichord pieces are among the most wonderful ever written.
La musique est délicate et raffinée, le portrait est splendide tant le rendu des matières est réussi. On peut presque toucher le velours, la soie, ...
An immaculate performance!
Великолепно, завораживает!
