    You know how Beethoven, in one of his late sonatas, puts a recitative into the music? Pieces like the second movement of this concerto show that this idea was not as wild or original as it may seem. It doesn't occur in Mozart or Haydn, but it occurs in their contemporaries.

    Is that a minuetto in a fast rondeau? We heard that before in Mozart's 9th concerto, didn't we? Wonder which came first. If anything, Rosetti/Rösler is not your average classical composer. He had quite a bit more to offer than most of his contemporaries.

    ホグウッドが全集録音する際に「(モーツァルトと違って)ハイドンは交響曲でチェンバロを使用しなかった」とする説を全面的に採用し話題を呼んだ(ザロモンセットは例外でハイドンがフォルテピアノを弾きながら指揮した記録は残っているためフォルテピアノを使用した初期録音は取り消していない、全集は未完) あれから大分たつがリアルではなくてもチェンバロが入ってるのも新鮮でいい

    Gossec developed a French symphonic art, after having written his awesome Requiem well before MOzart. His style remembers somehow that of Haydn, which he knew. Gossec lived a long time and was highly prised even during the French revolution. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Extraordinary. Excellently performed. Of all histories, the history of music is the most fake one. A piece of music is either successful or not - regardless of its musical style or period; successful musical works are incredibly numerous. Ideologues and musicologists (as of the emergence of national states) have convinced the world that there is - progress in music. They reduced the entire history of music to just several composers - "musical icons" - and turned them into a myth and a taboo. And because musicologists do not present us all of these successful musical works, we, the listeners, are the ones who lose.

    • @ednimed8034
      @ednimed8034 17 днів тому

      Musicologists are not reducing history of music to just several composers, unless you read old musicological works from 19th and 20 centuries (1st half). Moreoever, musicologists are not the one who "do not present": you need performers and concert organisation and/or recordings, and, as for musicological research as well, for everything, money is needed and it does not appear by magic. "Progress in music" : can you tell us which musicologist mention progress in music? I might quote Fétis, a musicologist from 19th century who was insisting on the fact that progress does not exist in music as such and every period and culture had its own value. As if musicologists were the ones deciding concerts or recodrings success.

    • @monteverdi1567
      @monteverdi1567 11 днів тому

      Correction: musicologists are the ones REDISCOVERING the lost/forgotten music of past eras. Musicologists brought back the music of composers who lived before JS Bach , which up until the 1950s, was as far back as the musical establishment cared to venture. Opera would not venture (and still won’t) prior to Mozart.

    • @ednimed8034
      @ednimed8034 10 днів тому

      For opera, it has changed as well : now Monteverdi, Cavalli or Rameau and Handel's operas for examples are played more often and recorded. Even Lully's ones are "back on stage". Not enough, but it has changed since 1950.

    These are wonderful discoveries. A fantastic repertoire. The Broadwood sounds extraordinary. Could you possibly also add the dates of composition? This sounds somewhere between John Field and Chopin/Bellini so I’m guessing around 1810, but it could be an earlier outlier…. Great channel!

      Dussek probably began composing the concerto around 1799, when he left London, and completed it in Germany in 1801 at the latest. In 1801 the work was first published in Paris by Érard, in 1803 for the first time in London by Clementi & Co as op. 49, shortly afterwards, in revised form, in Leipzig by Breitkopf & Härtel as op. 50. In 1794 an old acquaintance and colleague had already published London, the composer and violinist Giovanni Battista Viotti, composed a piano concerto in G minor; In 1801, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's C minor concerto KV 491 was first published by André in the publisher's catalog. Perhaps these two compositions were motivation enough to try out a minor key. In this work he was also able to musically process the difficult events at that time: the separation of his family and the escape from justice in London. From Wikipedia
