Anastasia the way you explain everything so carefully and thoughtful has helped me sharpen my skills, I’ve been a nail technician for 26yrs and there’s always room for improvement no matter how much time spent in the industry, I’ve seen products change in the 26yrs and I have to say products today are so much easier than when I first set out back in 1995, those tiny cuticle drill bits weren’t invented back in my day I absolutely love them they cut my time spent on a client in 1/2, I’ve always used a E-file they were bigger and clumsier back then if I remember correct they were called precision drills back then & they were over £1,000 a piece that’s without the drill bits😳the E-file came along at the perfect time and they are getting smaller and more powerful plus safer on the nail plate, I look forward to your posts there’s a lesson for me in each video, you do a grand job every time & what I love about you is you take the time to respond to your followers I truly admire you for that your such a beautiful soul dear, thank you for sharing I’m happy because while I was already on my iPhone I saw the notification pop up so I get to be the first to respond, bless you Anastasia you really are a lovely lady so thoughtful and so kind🙏🏽wishing you a beautiful day dear💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽

You can thank the Vietnamese for over filing cuz they just want more clients more money doesn't matter how much pain and fungus they have they've got wafer thin nails and are so picky they hurt your feelings

    • @m.robinson8497

@@britneyspears2496 I hate that I agree with this broad statement but in my area they do dominate the industry. I'm 45 min south of Houston. It's impossible to find a salon that cares. They remove gel, dip and acrilic nails by barely soaking them in acetone. They rarely even wrap them in foil anymore, preferring you to stick your whole fingers in a bowl for 5 min and then over filing the crap out of them and drawing blood on a finger or 2, and somehow having the audacity to blame you if the nail ends up crooked or bubbles in it or you moved and that's why you are bleeding. They also don't listen or follow procedure for waxing. If you are a good tipper they can do a decent pedicure ONLY if you pay for the upcharged options. Most the salons even have "eyelash extensions" which end up being a horrible mess of sometimes toxic, always crappy glue and cheap clusters. We do have technicians who are less known, usually out of their homes or even will travel to someone's house. But they work alone and have long lists of clients so it's hard to get appointments. Which is why I'm learning how to take care of my own on UA-cam lol

    • @aimeekrieg9932
      @aimeekrieg9932 2 роки тому

@@m.robinson8497 I agree...im in SE WI, and most salons are Vietnamese etc here too. What really grinds me is they do no sanitation at all! And the salons tend to be a little dirtier. A real salon is a dream, but always booked up weeks out...for the same price these other salons charge!! I do a pedi about every 3-4 months, but that's it. No more drills, overfiling, etc on me! I'm going to do my own nails , the safe ,healthy way...with no MMA

When I first started using the e-file. I found adjusting my speed doing cuticle work helped A LOT. I used poly gel and did a short set w/ dual forms. As it grew out I just kept it filled and short til it grew out. I was bad about doing fills too soon. So I bought a practice hand so I could play more and give my hands a rest. It also help me see me mistakes as they grew so I could correct them when I filled/filed my set the next time.

When I’ve felt with “rings of fire” I actually use soft gel full cover nails. It seems to protect them better and less heat sensitivity. The full cover allows them to grow out better. But hard gel is my second choice.
Great 👍 video as always. Your videos have upped my nail game by a ton Thank you!!

The very first time I did my nails I over filed them with a hand file because I thought I still had product up by the cuticle to try and get flush with the cuticle if that makes sense. So I had a ring of fire closer to the cuticle than your client did when she came in to see you. And waiting for it to grow out was torture because I didn't want to damage it more by putting more product on it right away. But once I learned how to e-file when I got it in the mail I haven't done it since. I've even learned how to do the dry manicure without the ring of fire as well because of watching you. I wish I would've watched your videos first before I just dove right in and started doing my nails when covid started. Because I would've saved my nails the torture lol. Thank you for everything you teach and show us. It's much appreciated! I love your work as well. I could watch you work all day! 😊❤️ By the way these turned out gorgeous!

Last year I was dipping like crazy during quarantined. Then I jumped on the Poly Gel wagon and also got an efile. Boy, was that a mistake! I have always had pretty nails, and have been great at doing my nails but, Poly gel and that efile ruined me. Well, I ruined my nails. I suffered with super thin nails with deeply pitted areas on my nails from being inexperienced. Now, I stick strictly with a rubber gel base and gel polishes. My nails are back to being healthy again. It was a rough lesson. After watching your videos I enjoy doing an “at home” Russian type of manicure without my efile. Lol

@@starbright8118 Hi! I would have to say that I ruined my nails due to lack of experience. I was ok with the lily gel but the efile was what did me in. I am sure it was a combo of speed and bit choice. I am sure you will have better luck than I!!! I stick to hand filing now. Lol

My nails that were already sensitive and thin became even thinner and with weird shape around the sides. When I first started doing my own nails, I was certainly over-filing them. It was hard to overcome because I have a bad habit of picking at my skin, especially my cuticles. So, when it came to letting them grow out, I would have a hard time not picking at the "ridge" between my healthy nail and my damaged nail. I've found that the best product for over-filed and damaged nails is acrylic. I feel like it gives me the hardness I need because my nails are naturally very bendy. I like to use gel too, but mostly just for overlays on healthy nails.
Thank you again for your amazing videos. Out of all the great nail techs on UA-cam, you certainly have the most amazing range. Acrylic, hard gel, soft gel, polygel... you do EVERYTHING! If I ever get to visit Russia I would love to have my nails done by you.

Hey, I really love your videos and Ive seen alot of them, this not a hare comment but the hyponychium is the skin under the free edge. Hyponychium is the skin-free edge of the nails. It is located at the distal end of the nail bed, just below the fingertips. As a barrier against germs and dirt, it prevents external substances from entering the nail. The skin in this region also contains white blood cells that help prevent infections.Hope you have a great weekend 😊❤️

I did this to myself. So I use a builder gel in a bottle to help keep them hard and let it grow out

You are great! Question when you say hard gel ...compared to using polygel on other hand, are you talking about acrylic for the hard gel or what do u use exactly??

When I first began getting acrylic nails, which was a good 25 years ago, there were a lot of small nail salons everywhere in my area. They were cheap, fast, and took all walk-ins. They used an actual DREMEL, with a SANDING DISC and believe me, they burned our fingers all the time. I must have been really motivated to have long nails. But once the acrylics came off, we all had those painful half-rings from them smoothing the area near the cuticle.
I haven’t gone to a nail salon in years, but I see they have come a long way.

This used to happen to me all the time every time I got fill ins for acrylics. I complained and was told it was what had to be done and that I simply had nails that were too thin. And several salons said something similar. So I stopped getting anything done to my nails. Imagine my surprise when I see this and learn that it was never supposed to happen. I knew I was right

I enjoy your bits of information. 3 of my nail beds have been over filed, and now very hard to grow. I would love to lose fake nails and have mine heal. What’s a great recommendation?

I do my own nails and I was overfilling at first ☹️😂 now I’m gentle and take my time . I avoid e file on my natural nails to be safe . But luckily mine was never too bad that looks painful

Those look beautiful! One thing those, I recently learned that nail techs are only allowed to push back the cuticle and its illegal at least here in the states to cut or trim the eponychium. I'm uncertain where you're located so unsure if this applies to you. But if you are in the states are you worried at all about possible legal consequences for doing that? Especially since you video record it. Thanks!😊

i did over file my nails and it was so painful they were thin and sensitive so i learned to take of first layers of products with e file then use hand file which way safer

I do not think there is a difference between 3D, 4D, 7D etc. I think it's just a marketing ploy.
    Love the nails !

I think the difference is the size of the glitter in the polish.

I bit my nails for more than 10 years a d what helped was to get a very short hard gel or polygel extension that was thick enough i couldn't bite it, and never having my nails "naked". After several months the urge to bite my nails is totally gone and even when my nails are natural (no product) i still don't bite them

The first time I went to a salon in years, they over filed my nails. Then the overlay lifted the next day 😭 I haven't gotten my nails done since. I'm happy to do them at home.

My nail bed is really short, so when nail grows out, the free nail is long however the nail isn’t past the end of my finger. Is there a way to give the illusion that my nails bed extends almost to the end of finger, like this models nail bed?
Thank you very much for your time and all the great tips you offer in your videos!
