Yes, Sikhism as well. It being a mono-theistic take on Hinduism. I live in a heavily Sikh neighborhood and it’s always interesting to see and hear their various practices. And as mentioned in this video about Hindus, they are always very kind when you speak to any one of them. I’d be curious how to even begin to evangelize any of these folks.

How it shaped India is an impossible question because it's constantly changing. Alexander the Great conquered them an one of his Generals ruled afterward bringing Greek things to them and they are just another offshoot from Babel's language split. And then in the 1500 the east India trading company controlled them which was ran by the Jesuit order of the Catholic Church and they love revising history.

I had a good friend years ago who was from India and he was a Hindu. I jokingly asked him where the term Holy Cow comes from? He said "from us, then he said, mostly my grandparents." I said, "What do you mean?" He said "my grandparents do worship the Cow." I said why? He told me it was because the cow was very instrumental by it's work, in causing Indians to be able to eat. I said, "but you don't eat meat." He said, "that's true but the cow pulls the plows and gives milk." He said, His grandparents sprinkle cow urine around the inside of the house and even on the furniture. He wasn't joking at all. I said, "do you worship the cow?" He said, " not so much, but it was not uncommon to see someone sitting in front of a cow for hours meditating on it. So the term HOLY COW, is taken seriously in India and that is where the term comes from.

Like most Hindus, sounds like your friend has very little knowledge of the Vedas. The cow is sacred because it's associated with the universe & the so-called churning of the ocean of milk at the beginning of the manifestation. The sound the cow makes is like OM...the primordial sound current. During samadhi (absorption) there is also the milky white light called Soma which floods the mind. The Rig Veda speaks of Agni (light) being the 'central point & Bull & milch-Cow in life's beginning'.

In Hinduism, Nirguna Brahman is the ultimate reality, formless and transcendent, embodying pure consciousness. Saguna Brahman refers to the divine with attributes and forms that are more accessible for worship.
In Shivaism, Sadashiva is the supreme form, embodying both the transcendent (Nirguna Brahman) and the manifest aspects (Saguna Brahman), including creation, preservation, and destruction.
In Vaishnavism, Narayana is a form of Vishnu representing Saguna Brahman, maintaining cosmic order and upholding dharma. He is also seen as a manifestation of the supreme, transcendent reality.
In Shaktism, Adi Parashakti is the supreme goddess, representing Saguna Brahman with dynamic energy. She is connected to Nirguna Brahman as the source of all creation.
In ISKCON beliefs, Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, embodying both the manifest form of Saguna Brahman and the source of all manifestations, encompassing Nirguna Brahman.
Thus, while Nirguna Brahman is the formless essence, deities like Sadashiva, Narayana, Adi Parashakti, and Krishna are manifestations of Saguna Brahman, representing various attributes and forms of the divine.

It’s a religion without a defined creed. Although traditionally associated with a pantheistic polytheism, one could be an atheist, agnostic, or even monotheist Hindu. Generally, however, anything can be divine in Hinduism. It is the polar opposite of Islam, my religion, where there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. My ancestors were Brahmins who converted to Islam, although I would like to reflect on how the caste system is an abomination, especially if we consider the plight of the lower castes and the Dalits.

You can yap all you want. Hinduism is a nick name for sanathan dharma which means the ETERNAL DUTY/RELIGION OF ALL LIVING ENTITIES. It is the perfect and complete religion explained scientifically (not modern day pseudo science). GOD, HIS TRANSCENDENTAL SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND THE VEDAS ARE ALL ETERNAL AND IMPOSSIBLE TO ELIMINATE. Christians and Muslims are trying to eliminate Sanathana dharma for thousands of years and simply wasting their resources and time.
The Bible has ZERO SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE...
If you do not believe when I tell you of material things, how will you believe if I tell you of spiritual things...John 3v12

A semantic domain is a semantic category that multiple words will fall under. It is like a taxonomy of semantics. There are high level categories like Universe/creation, Person, Language and thought, Socail behavior, Daily life, and so on. Each high order category has more granular categories under it and can sometimes go 4 or more levels deep. For example, a toe would first go under the top level category of Person, then Body, then Limb, then finger/toe. You can assign numbers to each level and in the particular semantic domain categorization I'm currently looking at, it would be 2.1.3.3 for a toe/finger. This is a way of categorizing words in a language and makes it easier to compare against other languages by referring to the semantic domains. It is not the range of meanings of a word, that is just semantics. You can have different ways of organizing your taxonomy of semantics to the point where depending on the system you use you'll have differing semantic domains for the same word, but the meaning of the word itself doesn't shift. Just like how there are actually competing taxonomies of animal life, there are competing models for semantic domains.

There is distinction, a person with a body and soul has memories (most simplified sense) imprinted within them that comes from your experiences, and therefore has a role to play in how you percieve the world around you. Say a thief stole your wallet, now anytime you bump into anything you are concious to check your pocket to see if its still there. But the experiences arent just physical they are also spritual and thus the concept of karma.
The idea of moksha is to liberate you from your worldly perceptions and see things as they truly are. Thus people get initiated by gurus and practice yoga in the full sense. To become one with Brahma and be liberated from this cycle of life and death.
As for maya, it is not some evil form of illusion, it is the glue that binds humans to this world. That is without it you can go about living in the most hedonistic way possible yet you do not, it is maya stoping you. She makes you feel things like affaction tpward your family, empathy towards a sick person and so on...
You may have a background studying some aspects but these concepts are far too complex to be learnt by reading translations in a foreign land.
Lastly, brahman is the unchanging one, however the moment it comes into contact with maya your conscious is split, where the unchanging soul lays dormant and layers of memories/experiences cover it until it becomes so different from the origional. That foesnt mean its not there, or that you can't get that state back.

8:49 the idea of the universal soul is actually an accurate reflection of what the physical world actually is.
We are all atoms and thus we are all matter. Matter is simply the difference in protons, electron and neutrons. The way i see it, the implication is that our entire reality is not truly real, meaning everything from our feelings towards god, fellow man, and the world around us...since everything we see is enviably tainted by our perception biases...
That is to say that all is not-permanent and therefore to feel attached to and cling onto them fanatical without logically comprehending them, adapting and being able to navigate the world without them is the goal.
In this way, the faith as Christians soo rever as salvation is nothing more than a crutch one discards once one has found more solid foundations, hence why the gods are not treated with the same unquestionably reverence and are seen as changing things aswell.
In a way, the ultimate goal of Hinduism is something i interpt as a method to dettach yourself from the world of fancy and bias and to instead focus on what is the absolute truth.
That is how i interpt it atleast.

It's really simple (and perhaps appropriate for _you)_ . . . *Rig Veda 10.23.4* "With him is this rains: Indra throws drops of moisture on his yellow beard"
*Rig Veda 10.96.8* "At the swift draught, the Iron One with yellow beard and yellow hair"
*Rig Veda 1.100.18* “Indra attacked the Dasyus and the Śimyus; won the land, sunlight, and water with his white-skinned friends”
*Rig Veda 1.103.3* “Armed with the thunderbolt, he has gone on destroying the cities of the Dasyus, and augment the strength and glory of the Ārya.”
*Rig Veda 1.130.8* “Indra defends his Ārya worshiper. He consumes the malignant; he tore off the b_______ skin; and him who delights in cruelty.”
*Rig Veda. 2.20.6* "Indra, slayer of Vritra, scattered the Dasyu sprang from a b______ womb."
*Rig Veda 2.20.7* “Indra, slayer of Vṛitra, destroyer of cities, scattered the b______-sprung servile.”
*Rig Veda 3.34.9* "Indra gained possession of the Sun, Horses, Cow. He struck the Dasyus, and gave protection to the Ārya tribe."
*Rig Veda 9.73.5* “They have roared in unison, burning up riteless men, Blowing away the b______ skin which Indra hates.”

I missed it. How was Alan being horribly rude?
Was it rude of him to accurately describe briefly Hinduism and the tenets of its belief system?
Or maybe you’re hung up on the fact that Allen lovingly pointed out that Hinduism is a false religion because it’s all based on works righteousness and follows a different gospel of a different Christ, one that has no power to save you?
Was that it? That’s what this is all about?
Perhaps you find it horribly rude of someone to lovingly instruct you when you need to be corrected. If you were at least physically blind, and somebody warned you that you were about to step out onto an unprotected eroding cliff edge… You might thank them for sparing your life because life is precious. Yet because you are spiritually blind and though you claim that you can see - you take offense at anyone who corrects your faulty understanding, in helping you remove the scales off of your eyes so that you might see that Jesus is the only way.
Christians have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit through Christ who died for us and suffered the eternal wrath of God in our place - and therefore we can see because we were once blind spiritually and yet God opened the eyes of our heart and Drew us into the sphere of His love. Not because we did anything to deserve it nor could we ever hope to ever earn it, not through an infinite number of lifetimes.
Through Christ he has made us ministers of reconciliation that we might help lead others to Christ. Yet you demonstrate yourself to be blind leaders of the blind, and therefore you suffer damage to your own soul as well as to those who follow after you.
Can I encourage you to repent from trusting in yourself, but rather transfer that trust from yourself to the Savior so that you might come all the way to Christ - and the only path to heaven, and that you would escape from heading to hell.
Perhaps you should stop listening to false teachers and false prophets like Vlad Savchuk. Otherwise you’re just getting a very water down human gospel room which primarily focuses on being feelings oriented - Driven by your emotions, rather than truth oriented - driven by the truth found exclusively in the word of God of scripture.

Who is Jesus of Nazareth? Did He die and did God raise Him up again? Why did most of His most closest followers choose to suffer death for this testimony? Did they die for a lie?
As to your uncharitable view of Christians, I encourage you to read Matthew 18:21-35. The second debt mentioned is real but minor when compared to the first debt. If God is willing to be merciful and extend grace to us, we should do likewise to one another. That doesn't excuse those who have dealt the hurts, but none of those works change what God has done.

@@richardwalenga1688"Who is Jesus of Nazareth?" - No demonstrable and testable historical evidence for his existence has been presented or is available.
"Did He die and did God raise Him up again?" - No evidence for this claim exists. "Why did most of His most closest followers choose to suffer death for this testimony?" Another assertion without any reliable evidence. "Did they die for a lie?" - Quite probably yes.

1.) So a vastly Super Intelligent Being could not figure out any other way to atone for the sins of humanity than to create Himself in human form and then have Himself betrayed by one of His creations and have Himself murdered by a group of His creations?! I am so damn glad that this makes sense (to delusional, irrational, illogical morons.)
2.) Your brain is simply incapable of functioning rationally and logically, don't worry, I understand. Seems like this running around in circles by theists while failing to address the core issues regarding the glaring failures and obvious flaws of religion(s) is not going to end anytime soon.
3.) How do you think regurgitating the bible to me is going to change my mind, in other words abandon and suspend all my rational, logical and reasonable thought processes, completely ignore reality and dumb myself down on purpose like you are doing all of the time?! No can do, tried it, did not work.
Is it not completely obvious to you that I am quite capable of reading and writing, and reasoning? - the ability you seem to be sorely lacking.
I am quite capable of reading your bible with comprehension and clear unbiased understanding, are you?
"As to your uncharitable view of Christians," - yes I do have an aversion to stupid people, especially those who automatically assume that i am a moron for not believing in their superstitions and delusions.

Those that worship jesus are no different from those that worship hindu gods.
All these gods were born on earth , so they were humans.
So don't worry about anyone special no one was sent here, no one will go to heaven or otherwise. All are coming back here. Every one is related, everyone breathes in the same air that a homeless person breathes out. The sun shines for all, the down trodden, the sick even the e vi*l.
There's no special god for any specific people. Even jesus never tell where or who *the* father is.
Didn't anyone learn anything from the pandemic.??
Sickness and diseases don't pick any special people. Everyone is affected.
