I remember when Rich said that the Bears got it right by drafting Fields. Everyone was saying he was a generational qb the bears need…. Fast forward and now Caleb is the new shiny toy. So if fields is not the guy then you all got it wrong. Point is that every year the media says some kid that has never played a down in the nfl is a generational talent… give the bears time to build a team… they literally just gutted the team last season
preach!!
Facts, we had this same convo 3 years ago and they finally drafted the right guy. They put him in a crappy situation with no coaches to develop him and 3 years later their talking about him like he’s the one holding the team back, when he was the only bright spot on the roster for the last 3 seasons. Smh
This is spot on! Getting rid of Getsy was a great move. We've got lots of holes to fill on this team and I hope we address them before we consider a QB. There's no such thing as a 'can't miss' QB prospect
0-6 vs the Packers. JF1 isn't the right guy.
@@jeffredfern3744the last 4 games we’ve had a terrible offensive coordinator who previously was a packer. Ironically the bears have their worst offensive games against the packers. Plus there has been no qb in bears history that has had even a decent record vs the packers since Favre came
Bears gonna Bears. Amazing coaches out there and our higher ups see Eberflus and think....yea, he's the guy
Can't stand Eberflus
Which “amazing” coaches out there??
Their record and defense improved this season. Justin Fields is a coach killer.
@@Churchill00BurnsBoom you nailed it
Being a Chicago sports fan is a nearly exhausting process. I'd like to see new Bears ownership. I'd like to see a coaching culture focused on getting it right with the personnel we have, every year (yes: that and their collective abilities change). I guess that's too much to ask in my beloved Windy City. Sigh.
Hang in there buddy. Virginia just turned 101. I don’t mean to say this in any kind of ill intent way but the reality is she’s got one foot out. Once she goes the vultures will come in and scavenge. That’s when change will occur. That’s when the team will be sold
There are other teams to root for that won’t let you down 😂
They have a new president, culture will change
As a Cards fan, I feel your pain and have your same complaints/wishes.
@@TruBuM53 years a Bear fan. I'm done. Tired of the team developing coaching, when they need proven coaching to develop any QB. Decade after decade. Same old Sh!t. And, it is 100% the ineptitude of the McCaskey family.
Bears drafted Trubiski then fired John Fox after his rookie season
Bring in Nagy, Nagy couldn’t develop Mitchell so they oust him and draft Fields only to fire Nagy after Fields’ rookie season.
Trading Fields and drafting a QB is the next step in perpetuating that god-awful cycle. So it’s probably what the Bears will do
Acidly ironic but frightfully plausible !
Thank you for saying this. The only person with enough sense to realize there is a larger problem than Justin Fields.
Agree totally, they are going to have to pick a lane and stay there
mitch is and was trash. not because of coaching.
Why would Poles and Eberflus go? They are in a rebuild. Poles has said as much. Last year, a teardown and this year was year 1. The team has gotten better. If not for Carolina's #1 pick, everyone would be discussing the team's progress.

Sadly Chicago is not one of the teams he considering, according to the media.
Agreed but as we all know the Bears simply are not that forward thinking.
Field needs Micheal Vick's Falcons Playbook.

I have been a Bears fan for 38 years and I can tell you, that Justin Fields is my guy. I truly believe that Matt Eberflus was retained because of Justin Fields, we're keeping Fields.
I really hope your rite. This front office seems to prioritize how the player acts and behaves off the field and have lauded Justin's leadership and locker room presence. Caleb Willams has diva written all over him. I just think the front office truly believes in Fields and want to continue to build around him. MHJ all the way. Problem with Fields is that if his first read isn't available, he can't read the defense and is lost.
I think they keep Fields, and hire an OC who knows he can elevate Fields higher
Before they decide on Fields, they have to find a OC that either wants Fields or wants a new QB for their system. Also, depends on what other teams are offering for that #1 pick. Bears need a stud DE. Another student WR and 2 for O line.
Exactly. I truly believe that Fields has sowed more than enough to make trading that 1st rd pick for a lot of talent much more alluring than gambling it on -yet another - flashy baby QB.
I agree. They should not make a Justin Fields decision without having hired their offensive coaching staff of choice.

jim was never gunna come to chitown
Who says Harbough wants to come back to the Bears?
Seethe harder
Harbaugh was never going to come back to Chicago, also, Harbaugh will not fair well in the current NFL. He runs a run first offense in a league that is pass happy. He could pull out one, maybe two good seasons, but then he is going to get shut down. This isn't the same league that it was when he was coaching SF.
Oh stop! No way Harbaugh comes to Chicago over LA or Vegas! Stick with Fields, go after Bienemy if Washington doesn’t elevate him and give him Asst. Coach money to run the offense. Poles still has huge cap $$$ + the overall #1. Trade down and get Harrison or the Washington WR and top OL/Secondary talent.
Caleb is not the answer. He is not what everyone was saying look how bad he did against good college defenses. Look how rattled he was against Notre Dame, how would he do against a good NFL defense? Justin has improved but still needs a good center in front of him, a second good receiver and someone who know how to call plays in the NFL and he will do great.
That was one game been watching him for 3 years he that dude
Watch the OLine that Williams played behind. Now, look at the line Fields has had for protection. Williams, and any qb, would struggle behind that O-Line. Stick with Fields, draft a WR, or trafe for more capital, and fix that line! Fields will get better with time to make decisions
lol love when ppl mention a sample size of why someone won’t be good
I promise you rich, bears fans are not all in on Caleb. Most of us want JF1 back, poor coaching and an awful roster has sabotaged a very talented QB.
Rich yes, Most Bears fans are traumatized and accept mediocrity. They want Fields 3 1/2 win average. That's good enough for Chicago a running QB who can only give you 3-5 wins.
@df2324 because why is it hard to understand. If year one of eberflus doesn't affect him. It shouldn't fields. There was three games last year the practice squad receivers dropped game winning drive catches. The roster was stripped down completely. 70 million dead money. A third string wide receiver was a his number 1. The rest were 5th and 6th wide receivers. Byron Pringle. Dante Pettis, E. St brown, na real Harry, chase claypool.. none have made an impact in this league this year. Plus no offensive of line. Plus 3 games the coaching staff blew this year. Fields single handledly kept up in games last year
@@TheRamirez9987 I think fields has the potential to be good. But doesn’t it make more sense to reset your clock again on your rookie QB contract? You’d imagine with eberflus they won’t be going anywhere until after they have to decide whether to pay Fields.
He’s a bust. We’re so far past the point of return it’s getting sad that people think he’ll ever be good.

DUDE OUT THE DOOR. ONLY WAY HE STAYS IF THERES A LOW BALL ON TRADE VALUE
Caleb Williams will be a huge bust. I just hope its for some other team. A good OC and a Marvin Harrison Jr could turn Fields into an elite guy.
They said the same thing last yesr
fields will never be elite
Fields has a decent o-line, good receivers, and TE. Adding another potentially elite receiver may not help since the kid can't read defenses anyway.

Because fields is a bust. Talented but doesn’t know how to play from the pocket at all. You can’t see his results??
The importance of keeping Justin Fields in Chicago is multi-faceted. Fields has shown leadership qualities that have resonated with the team. His teammates have praised his increased leadership which is crucial for team chemistry and overall performance.
On the other hand, bringing in Caleb Williams could potentially disrupt this chemistry. While Williams has shown promise in college, transitioning to the NFL is a different challenge altogether. There are instances where Williams’ actions have raised questions about potential impacts on team chemistry and performance against top 25 teams. 51% complection rating and a 1:1 td to INT ratio against ranked teams in college screams he might struggle in a league of the best of the best.
Coaching has indeed been a significant issue in Chicago. The Bears have had a history of instability in their coaching staff. When the Bears switched their defensive coordinator, the defense’s performance improved. This suggests that the problem may not lie with the players, but with the coaching.
If we apply the same logic to the offensive side, it’s reasonable to speculate that a change in offensive coordinator could lead to improved performance. The current offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy, has faced criticism for inconsistency and struggles to adjust in-game. The same criticism the former Defensive Coordinator was being tagging with before he's firing and ultimately Flus taking over responsibilities a the the defenses' playcaller. hmmm, could maybe A more competent offensive coordinator potentially bring out the best in Fields and the rest of the offense, much like the defensive coordinator switch did for the defense.
Fields has one more season in which he'll be paid 6mil in cap and after that the decision to pay him has to be made. people act like he's breaking the bank, when reality he's still under contract one more season. keeping Fields, improving the coaching staff, loading (and i mean loading!!!) up talent by trading down once or twice and maintaining team chemistry could be key to the Bears’ future success. However, these are complex issues that require careful consideration and strategic decision-making. The uncertainties in the NFL landscape further underscore the importance of making informed, logical decisions rather than banking on unproven “generational talents”. Dude has yet to play a snap in the NFl, media throws the world around every draft class with no accountability and it sickens me. They're selling a product to the masses and the new shiny toy is the ticket to the uneducated casuals.
talent set's the floor, character sets the ceiling.
but what do i know, I'm only 56 yrs old and watched more football than most.
p.s please stop throwing the word generational around, especially to prospects -
& and maybe Claypools comments that got him traded were accurate, "They're not using me right" 🤔 🤔 was claypool the good guy all along😂 😂
Nailed it here you go 👉👑
One thing to add is Fields’s inefficiencies and shortcomings in the passing game. Very rarely is he making pre snap adjustments or going through all of his progressions. Sure, adding more offensive talent will certainly help him out but I don’t think he has the passing technique and processing ability to succeed in the long term
no matter how many videos you post this comment on, you're still wrong.
Great job! 💯
The better option is to trade the number one overall pick
"Now there are some Justin Fields fans in the fanbase, I guess".
"Caleb Williams gets the fan base completely fired up."
There are more than "some" fans of Fields and no, Williams will not get the fan base "completely fired up". Many fans would be ecstatic to get Williams but many would be completely p*ssed off too. Not everyone has bought into the "generational talent" crap.
Damn, Rich.
I don’t buy into the generational talent either.
I buy into him possibly being a great QB, but an all time great? Mmmm no
The Bears never learn. Keep Fox, draft Trubisky, fire Fox. Keep Nagy, draft Fields, fire Nagy. How is there nobody in that building saying “let’s not make this mistake 3 times in a row”?
Yay? Good? I don’t know at this point, but I’m happy the decision.
They at least need to retain Jaylon Johnson
Doubt they will.
Gotta pay Jaylon
6:53 just to that point. There's a portion of the fanbase that would be excited, however the stadium was chanting his name. DJ Moore has made it very clear he wants Justin, but also this validates are the criticisms that the players had of the offense, that the players around the league said, I believe during the Bucs game a player said to DJ Moore "They not using you right" you mentioned JF1 saying he felt like he was playing robotic. To me all this evidence over the course of the season says we have to look like we're taking a QB, increase it's value, cause if they were trading Fields they maybe speak a little higher of him, however it's really close to the vest, and the only way it looks like JF1 is out the door is a report of being available for trade or working out a trade for him. Other than that, the players of this league named him one of the 100 best players in the league in his third year. He missed a month of football and came back played pretty well, and before injury was the league leader in passing TDs after a couple of back to back games of 4TDs. I think the Bears still draft a QB, but in the later rounds. Like 3rd or 4th round. A guy they are really high on in the event Justin takes a step back, I just don't see that happening, but that's my opinion.
Another consideration that few people are talking about is that I don't think Caleb Williams even wants to be in Chicago. You may draft this incredibly talented guy who doesn't want to be part of the organization and then you're left with a Johnny Manziel type character who is unmotivated. Fields at least has heart and fire and genuinely cares about making this team successful.
Or CW is fine and you're just making up strawmen to justify sticking with a bad qb.
I'm going by history. The two times the Bears made it to the Superbowl they did it with good to mediocre QBs and a stellar team around them. Unless ownership changes I don't think they are going to make the organizational changes to make this team succeed in any other way.@@TheMattTrakker

@@TheMattTrakker oh sure Fields is a so called "bad QB".... I guess that's why the lousy OC was fired
You pointed out the exact issue: every coach since Lovie has been able to "attach" themselves to their QB, only to get fired shortly after, and then the front office has to hire someone to fix that QB. We are right back in that spot and they chose to give Eberflus a QB while he's on the hot seat. And they didnt even talk to or think about any other coach
I’m happy you rich brought it up Coach Smith you should have a statue outside of soldier Field.😂😂
Flus not being fired tells me Fields is coming back. I'd almost guarantee thats the direction this is headed if you been paying close attention.
It's the opposite.
Hopefully Harrison Jr in the plans.
Totally agree. They can cash in on the #1 choice and build the lines along with Harrison Jr. Then there will be no excuses.
All it says is the defense has improved and they like him as a head coach.
😂🤡🤡🤡
Another option. Trade with Washington get a number of draft picks. Maybe second trade down with Giants or someone else in top 10 for more draft picks. Pick up a couple of free agents. With all these new players you finally give JF a chance to prove how good he really is. Don’t exercise 5th year option and let him walk at end of 4th year if he doesn’t prove himself. If that happens you probably have 3 number 1 picks next year to use in securing a new quarterback whether it be draft or trade.
That is probably the worst course I've heard...and there are a lot of stupid bears fans that comment.
The team at #2 has almost no reason to trade up they will have certainly decided on two preferred options in the case CHI takes theirs and have no reason to give up a ransom of picks to move....1 spot.
I swear most fans advocating for JF1 over Caleb or Drake are OSU fans first and foremost. Bears fan second.
@@jeffredfern3744 no most of them are young juvenile.
Responding in order of comments. Why is it worse course? Disagree since Atlanta and Giants will probably make strong push for number 2 pick from Bears after Washington trade forcing New England’s hand unless it wants someone other than Williams or Maye. Even if New England stands pat, Giants or Atlanta like to pursue trade. I hate OSU.
I don’t know how anyone can think fields is a franchise qb
He's been great for my team. Now I am a Packer fan so take that as you will
If you measure him as a real life qb, he is somewhere in the 20s of starting qbs. Just look at rating, QBR, NYA, etc. If you measure him by fantasy football points per game, he finished ahead of Mahomes and Tua as well as being in the ball park with Herbert, Stroud, and Purdy. That or running qbs are great in Madden. It has to be one or the other. It is not based in reality.
Is it fanboys who play too much Madden?
I don’t know how you made this statement without thinking.
It's going to be easier to trade the first pick than it will be Justin Fields

Walter Payton didn't have good coaches, good teams or even a mediocre offensive line, and he did the same. Rogers up in Green Bay had a horrid offensive line and won MVPs. Bad coaches do not "wreck" great players. That sort of thinking is just confirmation bias at work. If Fields was great, no one would be debating it. It would just be a fact.

They absolutely have to get MHJ and worry about the QB situation later, its the safest best choice for anyone picking 1st!
Or trade down and load up on Oline and Dline. There are alot of WR that are really good later. Really good Oline and Dline talent is much harder to find later in the draft compared to WR. MHJ is a stud, no doubt, but you have to build the lines.

As a long suffering Bears fan, I’m against Eberflus keeping his job. In his final postgame conference he references going 5-3 to end the year as improvement. To cherry pick that like it’s some great body of work when we have failed to beat Green Bay when it matters (and for YEARS now) is inexcusable.
He can improve our defense? Awesome. So can other competent DCs out there. We need a head coach that understands the offensive side of the ball, and anything else is settling for less, and that’s not what our franchise needs. Fire Flus and get an offensive minded head coach.
I mean...that is an improvement.
@@TheMattTrakker that also is when we got Montez Sweat, who has been awesome on defense for us. Our GM got Sweat, not Eberflus, so I still can’t see how the improvement is tied to coaching rather than personnel.
As a Bear fan understand this. Stop with the Pat Mahomes situation. We had the same HC who is now his OC. How is he looking now with Nagy calling his plays? JF grown a little bit more comfortable in the pocket as of lately. If or when they trade JF, what QB can stand behind that offensive line? Williams hype seems real. Watch his game and he has the same flaws as JF. Hold the ball too long, always looking for the big play and struggle against top defensive teams. Outside of DJ and Kmet who is Williams throwing the ball too?
Nagy does NOT call the plays in KC. Mahomes' biggest issues this season are receivers dropping the ball and two offensive tackles who have significant issues. And even in this down year, Mahomes has had a career high in passing percentage, which should have been even higher if not for the drops. He ought to have at least at least a couple of more TD passes -- if not for drops and penalties -- and a couple of less interceptions if not for his receivers batting the ball in the air.
Nagy is the OC in KC which means he’s calling plays. If his not calling plays then who is? Drop passes and issues with the o line and int. Sounds like the same issue JF has been going through. (I’m only comparing their issues). The media has always said the greatest players make players around them even greater. JF get trash out because of his mistakes. So, is it different when it comes to Pat?
It means ownership is Cheap and refuses to pay, as always, to fire a Coach before Year 3 ends. 😢🤷🏻💯
It means - from Poles' comments - that they will keep JF, but draft a QB ... somewhere. Marvin Harrison Jr is a must. We're paying Justin 6M this year. He won't be traded. Penix at 9 would be the thing.
We still need more oline/dline. WR, another edge rusher.
and qb
You’re wrong about the fan base - We DON’T want that crybaby Caleb - we want to keep Justin - there’s no need to change QB - coaching was the problem
Perhaps pats wanna do a trade for first overall and they can go WR (3) and get a edge or Tackle at 10
I would like to see Sherrone Moore, current OC at Michigan, be seriously considered for the OC position at the Bears. He has significant time under the tutelage of Jim Harbaugh and he successfully filled in as HC during Harbaugh's 4-game absence. His coaching history is "in the trenches", O-line and tight ends. And the Michigan O-line consistently has been ranked #1 or #2 over the past few years.
I wasn't impressed at all with Michigan's passing game, so what would he add at the NFL level? You don't resign Fields or draft Williams for a run first coach.
@@j.d.6915 BINGO!

DJ Moore doesn't run the bears. This isn't AaROD and the Jets.
Don't want Harbaugh.
I want Fields
I want Poles
I want Eberflus
Get Kubiak and let's kick butt!
First let me just say this, the fact that the HC is coming back means that Fields is coming back, it’s just that simple.
Second, there is NOTHING wrong with Fields that an OC who knows what the hell he’s doing can’t fix.
Third, Caleb Williams is NOT & I repeat NOT the answer. He is EXTREMELY immature & if a team wants to give up capital to get him the Bears should trade that pick. However, of all the players in this draft Marvin Harrison Jr. is the closest to a sure thing as there is. As long as they don’t go any dither than 3 they will have the #1 player in this draft fall in their lap. Also, as far as this bing Fields’ third OC, the offense that Getsy ran is the same offense that is run by more than half the league. They can go out there & get an OC like EB who actually knows what the hell he’s doing along with MHJ this will be a top 10 offense.
Lastly Rich, you couldn’t be more wrong about Williams firing up the fan base. First let me point out that recent polls have shown that 80% of fans want Fields to stay so it’s more than just a few even if you don’t want to buy into those polls. Second, what will get the fan base fired up is if the Commissioner says on draft day “the Chicago Bears select Marvin Harrison Jr.” that is what 99.99% of Bears fans want.
Rich's take is from a 30,000 foot view about this Caleb Williams potential with Bears fans. There is a VERY strong Justin Field's fan base that doesn't feel Caleb "has them at hello." It may be 50% in Chicago that want the #1 pick to be used on a wide receiver...like MH Jr.
Be well and be at peace.
Only thing Caleb needs to focus on is playing QB.
Well you just said he’s had a new situation to learn each year so far. You know the bears have no offensive line. What exactly was Justin gonna do? What do they make believe Caleb can do with that same thing?
Lovies gift that keeps on giving
The common argument about "Fields will be learning his 3rd offense" ... he will be learning a new offense next year in any scenario, whether he stays or moves on. So not really a valid argument that indicates he's going.
Most teams don't stay with a QB through that many changes because the GM wants to keep their job and pick their own guy. So yes, it is.
Amazingly dumb takes by mainstream media as you would expect! Justin Fields doesn't need to learn a third offensive system he just needs a better coordinator in the system that he's in
Flus earned my trust after he kept the locker room and had the defense rolling. Getsy on the other hand had DJ Moore telling the GM to fire him so I’m for this.
What you do worry about is Fields becoming a super star in another system and then Caleb being a BUST. It can work both ways gents.
He's too slow to ever become a star
@@luigiusa7976 Slow?
Williams vs Maye gives me too many Leaf vs Manning memories to draft Williams based on the mental component of the job. More talent but I’d trust Maye or the kid from Michigan to be a more successful long term starter
You differently don't want Leaf at one.
JF1 is not a 300 yrd passer, in 3 seasons he has not thrown for 3k yards, he sucks at passing in Zone, ball security issues, holds on to the ball too long. After 3 seasons of this, why does anyone think this will be different regardless who the new OC is.
It simply means that Getsy had to go no matter who the Bears' qb choice is.
Get JF1 a REAL OC for the FIRST TIME in his NFL career. Trade #1 pick for boarload to support him with WR, OG, C.
This obviously means FIELDS IS BACK BABY!
They kept Eberflus because they didn't want to pay him to be a DC for another team next year. If the Bears don't make the playoffs next year, then Poles and Eberflus need to be shown the door
Caleb Williams plays just like Justin Field and we would be mad if they move on from Justin for someone who plays like him but younger!!!
JUSTIN FIELDS WISHES HE PLAYED LIKE CALEB 😂😂
Hopefully build around him. Trade back a few spots in the draft pick up more picks and hope a few are good
Of course Poles is staying. He has done a great job so far
I don't think Rich understands how much Bears fans love Fields and want him to stay. Similar to how the locker room wants Fields to continue to be our Qb. An overwhelming majority of Bears fans want to get MHJ.
Does Luke Getsy getting fired not make you feel as if Justin is now staying? Why fire him if Justin was the problem? If you get rid a Justin now the OC job gets a lot less attractive knowing you're getting a rookie QB and an entire team that needs to learn a new system. To me, you keep someone with experience and relationships, find a good OC and hope it hits, and this next year is a last chance. Easier making this a last chance year when you're guaranteed multiple first round picks next year if you trade back as well
It's the opposite. The OC pool gets much bigger with a rookie.
Justin Fields sucks
It makes less sense to get rid of Fields for this reason: the team as it currently sits is not built for success for the rookie. The offensive line needs a center and LT at the very least, and they need another receiver. Better to trade down with the Commanders, get their #2 and their #1 pick in 2025, and take Harrison at #2 and either an Edge or LT with the #9 pick. Use the rest of the draft to fill in at RB (Foreman will be gone) and Safety (Eddie Jackson will also be gone) and get some depth at both Guard and LB. Now you have a team a rookie quarterback can succeed in for 2025 if Fields craps the bed next season. If he doesn't you have 2 #1 picks to play with. The #1 pick has way too much value in trade, and there are other reasons Poles will keep Fields.
I love your post. It put things into perspective for me, thanks. I hope other people see it (especially Poles, but I trust he knows all that...). But please, what do you mean by " there are other reasons Poles will keep Fields" ? Thank you, Tom.
@@jeanfourcade I read elsewhere that Poles played with Matt Ryan at Boston College and is very close to him still and respects his opinion. Ryan says the Bears should trade the pick and build around Fields. I pray this is accurate. I was also talking with a friend of mine who reminded me that the Cowboys used the draft picks from the Herschel Walker trade-3 first rounders, 3 second rounders and more-to build their 3 Super Bowl dynasty. Troy Aikman became a markedly better quarterback once he had all day to complete passes. Right now Fields has zero time….
@@tombanaski3251 Excellent. The Aikman comparison is precious. Thanks Tom for your knowledge and insight.
If Rich thinks Caleb "gets the fan base fired up" he doesn't know the fan base that well. Justin Fields with Marvin Harrison next year gets the fan base fired up. Young QB with a lame duck HQ, we've been through that for the last 10 years.
I WOULDN'T WATCH IT IF FIELDS THE QUARTER BACK
For all you Caleb supporters, you know that Caleb on the Bears with Matt Eberflues as the head coach will underperform, just like Justin has under poor offense coaching from Matt Eberflues/Luke Getsy
Zach Wilson and Trey Lance got taken before Fields in the draft, nobody has a clue about this stuff, Lawrence was the ultimate 'can't miss' prospect and his career is kind of in the balance - you just turn the card in and pray on draft day.
I’d strongly disagree that Lawrence career is in the balance. He’s already changed the Jags franchise. He’s definitely their guy.
the guy that threw 2 picks vs the Titans @@travisbickle5829
Getsy wasn't calling plays for the aforementioned Qb's
@@travisbickle5829 Lawrence completes less than 64% of his passes with a career TD to Int rate of 58 -39, which is awful in today's NFL. His career passer rating is lower than Daniel Jones, Mitch Trubisky and Jacoby Brissett, among others. He just hasn't been the game changing player he was supposed to be, but there is still time.
Bears are an unserious, poverty franchise. How do you fire all the assistants but keep the HC that brought all of them on? What an absolute joke.
I keep hearing this what if we drafted Mahomes or Watson and we would have done better. We had crappie coaching than a we do now. Neither of the QBs would have developed to the stars they are now.
I've been saying that for five years -- and I'm a Bears fan living in KC. And Chicago dodged a bullet not drafting Watson. Cleveland already regrets that trade and especially that contract.
No way Bears draft Caleb. They're more likely to regress with a rookie QB then with Justin. Poles and Eberflus will get canned if they don't make the playoffs next year.
Why is everyone obsessed with giving Fields so much slack? What has he done to prove he will ever be a top 15 QB? I don’t understand what everyone sees.
If u don't understand then go back and watch 😂 n actually pay attention this time
Actually he finished this season in the top 15 in the QB power rankings. And with only 1 receiver and a good TE to throw to and mediocre pass protection.
@@Yk_ItsBreezy I watched. I just understand how the quarterback position is played. He didn’t throw people open. He can’t go through any progressions. He holds on to the ball for far too long. He didn’t scramble to throw, just puts hours head down to run. Even admitted at the beginning of the year that the offense was “too complicated”. Need I go on? CJ Stroud had no one near DJ Moore’s talent and yet was a much better QB.
@915tarponlegend so yes please go on u 🪱. If u gonna talk about holding onto the ball to long then u can have someone else explain cause u clearly not all there, 1 thing i can say tho is, recently has not been his fault and when people are actually open it's out quick, unless u want him to throw to a ghost u trippin
The draft capital you could obtain from 1st overall this year could help you build the team for a couple years. A rookie QB is such a gamble, Caleb could be the "Savior" or get you fired next year.
But you know Fields isn't a savior and has gotten an offensive playcalling head coach and playcalling offensive coordinator fired in three years. It is a gamble to move off a good quarterback. The Bears haven't had that.
@@benoitwaffle5439 Did you watch Caleb Williams versus Notre Dame? He is not a sure thing.
Fields is a decent QB or teams wouldn't be trying to trade for him. Getsy & Nagy were trash and got themselves fired. Getsy had to go even if we keep Fields or draft Caleb.@@benoitwaffle5439
@@starscream8Life I didn't say he was, but you aren't moving off Peyton to go to Luck or even Rodgers to Love. Fields is not a high end starter, much less an MVP. No one can feel comfortable giving him a market rate second contract for a starting qb. This isn't about assessing Caleb Williams against Mahomes. It is about who the Bears have now, and taking advantage of the best opportunity to improve upon the situation. The Bears had to spend two first rounders plus later ones to get Fields. They had to spend two first rounders plus Orton and later picks to get Cutler. They don't have to do that now. They can stand pat, assess the available qbs, and take their favorite. It really isn't that complicated.
@@benoitwaffle5439 He didn't get them fired, they got themselves fired. Nagy was a lame duck coach when they drafted Fields, and Getsy is horrible at play calling. Nagy should have never put Fields in the first year.
You've just proven how little you know about the Bears. You obviously don't remember the Grabowskis. The bring your work to lunch guy. Hard working, dedicated with a strong sense of pride. The Halas/Mckaskey are not going to let go of a player who is talented and fits a lot of their requirements. He's a leader. He's loved by his teammates and the fans. He can handle the pressure of performing in a big city environment. He fits everything that the Bears and George Halas represent. He's not going anywhere.
Lots of over dramatic bears fans are failing to realize that this only won 3 games last year and that flus only needed one decent pass rusher to get his defense clicking (alr had the best run defense). You dont just tear a whole roster apart just to quit the process 2 years later.
Caleb Williams is not the answer. The Bears need to look at the OLine, safety, RB, corners, DT, and get Cousins from the vikings
It makes sense. Give him another chance, beef up the offense and see how Fields do then. That will tell if he's worth sticking around
Bruh thinks that bears fans would be fired up for Caleb when he wouldn’t do any better than fields with that o line. Saw it at usc
Fields is going to have a 3rd OC regardless, what does it matter if its with the Bears or another team?
EXACTLY!
GMs don't wait that long on a qb because it's their job on the line. Most GMs don't get to pick 3 head coaches before ownership moves on, same thing with qbs and OCs.
Should have fired the entire coaching staff, hired Harbaugh, drafted Williams, and get this thing going like it's supposed to. Who are you going to get at OC who can develop a QB?
Chicago will draft Harrison from Ohio State to assist Fields on offense. this scheme looks good on paper but the question becomes can he deliver the football to Harrison consistently? No, I do not.
The coordinator never allowed Fields to thrive. Everyone agrees if Fields went elsewhere, he'd be a Superstar. So why not find him a competent OC who knows how to call a game that allows this kid to cook!!!
@@chevasechols6327 No, everyone does NOT agree with that. If that were the case, you'd be able to trade Fields for a massive package. JF fanboys are so delusional, I'm embarrassed for you.
Bro every poll I see for Bears fans heavily favor Fields. We DO NOT get fired up for Williams and pls stop trying to get us fired up for it just because it makes the best story for the NFL.
Bears lost 3 double digit 4th quarter leads because of coaching. Justin Fields and this roster would’ve won 10 games this year with average coaching.
The concern for Fields having to learn a new system again is valid, so why doesn't that concern hold true for any rookie QB that also has to now play against NFL defenses?
They are on year 1 of their contract, not 4.
This was most certainly their answer to the Bears fans’ cried of “I don’t care if it’s Eberflus or Fields, somebody has to go to fix this offense.” I think Fields is out.
Then why did they fire the OC but keep the coach? Fields has never been the problem
@@jakekrueger7854did you say “ Fields has never been the problem “ , yeah! Probably all the Justin fanboys will agree with you.
@billshun3963 just say you don't know ball and that you like your own youtube comments.
Getsy got fired. He's the one to go.
I've only been saying Getsy had to go. I would understand if they kept Eberflus, because at least he showed the ability to improve as a coach, Getsy did not. If they listen to the players, like DJ Moore, then the executives know that the players want to run it back with Fields, but they didn't want Getsy calling the plays. DJ called him out (subtly, though, not so subtly that you couldn't tell) more than once this season. I'm a fan no matter what way they go, but I'd trade down because we have other problems that will directly impact the QB and we need as much help to fix those as possible, which we have a better chance of doing with more draft picks.
If they pass on Caleb and he wins rookie of the year, then Poles gets fired.
Too young to risk, drafting Caleb gets him a few more years of the big paychecks
No ....the locker room has spoken... they want Fields
The problem I see with Fields is he is a much better running back than a quarterback. Most of your great quarterbacks have a mindset to pass before running. Fields is just the opposite.
Im pretty sure that came from the years of not trusting your O-Line.
Your not seeing at all my friend. He rarely Ran in college...why because he didn't HAVE TO. what changed? His protection. Notice as the line got better his passing yards Increased
Make him your punt returner. He's not gonna be a good QB, ever, period.
Repeat the pattern of Bears lame duck coach drafting a new qb and then firing coach next year. John Fox > Trubisky > Nagy > Fields > Flus > new rookie qb.
Most bears fans want Justin. We’ll be cautiously optimistic with Caleb. We will riot in the streets if they draft Drake Maye. (No more Carolina Quarterbacks!!)
Mitch Trubiskey put up better numbers than Fields, but you want him and don't want any part of an NC QB? Please don't try to speak for Bears fans, you're not mentally equipped for that.
Speak for yourself.
RIOTS!
I'm a Niner saying I never thought that Justin Fields was a bad quarterback I just didn't think that he got the fair Shake because there's no offense of line in Chicago and bad coaching
The Bears need to go get WR in the draft to get Fields more targets to throw to
He looks at one read each play. Having a second elite wide receiver won’t do anything
Yet Jordan Love carved up the Bears defense with total nobodies.
@@someoneelse1 You mean to tell me that Bo Melton and Dontayvion Wicks aren't elite?!? I could have sworn I heard Kiper talk about the countdown to the the Dontayvion Wicks draft.
They say Justin won’t be there because he’ll have to play in a new system, with a new OC, and learn a new playbook.. LIKE HE WONT HAVE TO WITH A COMPLETELY NEW TEAM! 🤦🏽♂️😂
This was a terrible choice.
Fields is out and should be.
Flus is 2-10 in his division and has consistently blown leads.
The bears are armed with the first overall and the 9th overall to reset the franchise with a chance to get an offensive minded coach in the building to keep continually with a new QB. The moment flus loses a few games his writing will be on the wall and next year they'll have to hire a new hc any way, while stunting a new qb development.
Very Chicago bears move and this is why they'll forever be stuck behind green bay.
Poles is a solid GM but this move probably cost him his future. No point in having top picks if the vision is so cloudy. Crazy
Unless a new OC and QB + whatever else they add in free agency and draft actually works?
If the Bears are 10-7 or 9-8 (assuming the defense hasn't totally crumbled), do you think they're firing Flus?
Seems like he has no clue about the temperature of the bears fans majority DO NOT WANT Williams
Caleb's gonna dodge all the Chicago interviews 😂
Everybody that's not from Chicago speaking on what we should do should just shut up!!
Eberflus had 3 big leads against Detroit,Denver and Cleveland and blew them in the fourth quarter but that’s getsy fault
Perfectly said!
Remember the good 'ol days when Jay Cutler was in Chicago?
Now we just got to work on the offense.
I believe the bears fans hear that every off season.
I'm sick of it, but I know incompetent ownership has been since George died. So its mostly expected.
