so I just got my p3 installed yesterday, I love it, but the only thing I lack in is the configuration, can you do a video on the golf MK8 showing how to adjust brightness (that's if it does have brightness settings) it is kinda bright during night time. thanks in advance
Just hold the right button down while in gauge mode to change the display to dim. To make it bright again just hold the right button again. We also cover all the dimming options in our how-to config menu video👍🏼
@@P3Gauges so just hold the right button and it should dim right away? I don’t have to do nothing else? And yes I did that video, but it doesn’t really explain much, I did those steps and I feel like nothing really happened
If you have your dimmer set to "d.On.A" in the config menu (for Auto-dim) you cannot manually dim the display any longer. If you need further assistance please email me - support@p3cars.com and I'll help you there. Thanks!@@MotivationalQuot3s23
Have a configuration video to show boost? I just ordered my P3 and I’ve seen several other Mk8 owners that have had issues with their P3 displaying boost out of the box.
Yes, we have a full how-to config video broken down into sections. Here's the boost setting section - ua-cam.com/video/jgGiH920yYs/v-deo.html You can find the boost settings for your car on our install page - p3gauges.com/v3-install If you're reading boost through the OBD2 port it should pull boost right out of the box. If not, you may need to adjust your boost setting to pull boost from a different PID (which you'll see how to do in the links above) If you have any other questions please email support@p3cars.com, thanks. -Jake
We offer our Analog DIY that could be made to work in that car - www.p3cars.com/diy/p3-diy-analog-gauge-all-models-all-years/ We no longer our older V2 gauges for an OBD2 application but you can do the analog version. If you have any other questions please email us - service@p3cars.com
can this particular p3 model for mk8 be retro-fitted/customized by the user to fit other VW models such as the Arteon or is the software specific to the mk8? Arteon has 0 boost gauge options and I'm thinking of fabricating my own
The software will work, you just have to make the display fit. Check out our DIY gauge, it’s purposefully made to be customized but you could make this one work as well.
Very clean, and thank you for showing how to remove that trim.
Cant wait to get ours on the car! Thanks for the install video :D

@@P3Gauges exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Good work
I would like to know if your unit would work in a mk4 caddy. I just need to know if it would be able to conunicate correctly. Thanks

@@P3Gauges thanks
If the vehicle is tuned, will the boost gauge read the higher boost via ODB port?
As long as it’s not a piggyback and you aren’t surpassing the upper limit of the pressure sensors then you’re good to go.
