    I just purchased a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 SE CVT in Wine Red and love it. I traded my 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES CVT with Navigation and the updates are extensive. The interior on the 2017s has so many upgrades such as seat fabric material, interior piano trim, seat support, sound insulation, new gauge cluster, new steering wheel, new audio unit with apple car play and android auto, 4 more horsepower and a new roller cam shaft, new suspension updates, smoother idle, fender insulation, heated seats, auto dimming rear view mirror, wide angle rear view camera (G4), rear fold down arm rest with cup holders and even the way the shifter feels going into gear is much smoother. The updates are amazing in making this car feel more substantial.
    I got the Light Gray interior which adds a level of class to the interior and will be adding the Mitsubishi Center Console Armrest for $138.95 (my 2015 had it installed). The room inside the G4 is unreal, its huge and the trunk is cavernous!!! I also love the dark chrome alloy wheels and matching front grill. This paint color (Wine Red) is so unique and classy looking.
    I had no issues with my 2015 and only traded for the upgrades and the deal I got on this 2017 Top Trim G4 SE. It was $18,115.00 and I got it for $12,714.00 at Renn Kirby Mitsubishi in Frederick MD you should really check out their deals! If you do be sure to see Tommy Moberly he sold us our 2016 Outlander Sport GT and our 2017 Mirage G4 SE and was amazing.
    While driving in town the ride is much more quiet and takes bumps with less of a thud and the idle is 50% smoother and quieter. The seats feel extra stuffed and the material is for sure much more premium feeling. The Apple Car Play alone is one of my favorite features and props to Mitsubishi for incorporating that!!!
    Keep up the good work Mitsubishi because I am impressed with the updated 2017 model!!

    Its should be a fair comparison. If you use a manual on the other car BOTH of them should be manual cars! If you use a CVT or a standard auto, BOTH of them should be a CVT or standard auto! Mirage has a manual, why didn't you use that for comparison???

Plus in the USA Chevy is not known for the best reliability and Mitsu has had good reliability. Have had my Mirage 16 months and no problems 13,000 miles later.

    comparison should have done with both manual or both cvt transmissions... manual always edges the automatic in acceleration because in manual you can have an early shift of gears.. i bet mirage will have the advantage if both manual are used because ut is lighter than the spark

    • @djkenny1202
      @djkenny1202 6 років тому +1

      I would actually pay 4 grand more, and move up an entire class of car. The 2 is just not a very good value in this segment. Also, the fuel economy is poor in comparison, people look at these cars for high MPGs. The 2 barely manages 38 mpg, the Mirage is commonly getting over 42 city and 50 highway. Often more.

      I don't get why anyone would buy one of the more expensive subcompacts even it's a rocket, when the whole point of owning one is great gas mileage; the reliability of owning a newer vehicle; low maintenance and ease of service and to get one cheap. The Honda Fit, Chevy Sonic, Ford Fiesta, Mini, and Kia Rio 5 make absolutely no sense. They start at around $16K and up, and get worse mpg than the same-brand compact cars for about the same price. The only affordable subcompacts are Nissan Versa and Versa Note, Mitsubishi Mirage and Mirage G4, and Chevy Spark. The only two on that list that gets great mpg is the Mirage and Mirage G4. The Fiat 500 isn't to bad; starting around $15.5K, but it's got average mpg as well. All other brands and models offer no benefit other than a smaller foot print to a compact car. I'll take the Mirage. I'll get a one-year-old used one for around $8.5K and get near 50 mpg commuting. Still be under warranty for 70-80K and less than 2 yrs old. Thank you very much for all the poor reviews. The poor reviews, which are all about nothing that would be important to those who would own one, and the subsequent poor book values is what makes the Mirage such a great car. Cheap to get. Cheap to own. Great reliability. And great mpg. I'll take mine in 5 speed if I can find one.

    That different in performance is not so big to choose Spark, Mirage wins because it has better fuel consumption and this segment is about consumption

  • @gregoryfaulkner5345
    @gregoryfaulkner5345 6 років тому +1

    There was no 2016 Mirage. They skipped that model year, and came back with a refreshed model for 2017. The Spark was all-new for 2016. I'm not sure what this videos proposes to compare, but the Mirage is more roomy; gets much better real world mpg; has less power and torque, but weighs 200 lbs less. The Mirage has a better warranty and usually sells for hundreds less in real world purchases; and it needs only slightly more than three qts for an oil change. If you get a subcompact for drag racing, shouldn't you be getting another vehicle.

      @@lochlanmcdermott4872 Both slow indeed 😃 and don't get me wrong, there are alot of advantages of getting a Spark over a Mirage. In the states, the Spark's parts are a lot cheaper and its dealership network dwarfs Mitsubishi. The Mitsu however since 2014 has demonstrated more reliability with the JATCO CVT7, the transmission of both cars. The theory is @ 78HP/74lbs of torque, its simply less stressed than in other vehicles its been in. The engine of the Mirage, the 3A92, has also been in production for almost 20 years and is proven in it's timing chained and basic design. On Spark owners forums, they're are a lot of owners complaining about premature CVT failures primarily in the 2014-15 years. Hopefully GM KOREA has figured this out? Now I would take a manual Spark over a Mirage anyday.

      Holden spark currently costs 14250 driveaway whilst the mirage costs 15990 driveaway.
      Holden has a lot more features inside of the cabin. Mirage interior is also extremely outdated. - doesnt even have display lol
      Holden is better performance wise in every aspect.
      Holden has 7 year warranty and mirage has 5 year warranty? so reliability doesnt even matter
      Holden spark uses only 0.2 litres per 100km more fuel which is nothing while also having much more power.
      The mirage also looks very old style
      Care to go on?

      Wow... that is way too much. In my parts of town a base model Spark is 10k-11k after discounts, and a Mirage is $9600-11,500 base model. The display come on the higher end middle of the pack SE that is $11,250-12,500 range of the Mirage. 16 grand, I could buy a Kia Soul with Automatic and a few other features.

In this case, we thought some buyers might want to see what sort of performance city cars offer. The Mirage, for example, is the best-selling model in the segment in Australia. Hope this helps.
