Very very nice of you to put up this video. My wife has had it for a long long time, and just had what is probably her 12th surgery for Endo. This one was actually at City of Hope in L.A. CA, a cancer hospital (dude, what a place! ...other hospitals - San Diego ones in our experience - don't even come close!). She's had everything from basic endoscopic/laproscopic type surgeries, to a partial hysterectomy (@ 28 yrs. of age mind you) to a a full hysterectomy (completed by an oncologist... use them, if at all possible... trust me). The most recent surgery was to see if her "mesh" was still holding everything up properly (this was the mesh done via the "robotic" method, not the vaginally surgical method), which it was, however, her bowels were literally hanging/stuck to her abdomen wall from scar tissue/endo tissue (she had prolapsed everything a couple years back) We have pics.. her liver is also bound and glued to the inside of the abdomen too, but since is it is so damn vascular, they won't "detach" it. I just wanted to chime in because this stuff is no joke, has taken her completely out of any state to be working (she was very successful, btw), and much much more. Having children is obviously out of the question, and no, we do not already have children. We go to a pain clinic monthly, which took FOREVER to find, and if you are on an HMO, better get yourself on a PPO ASAP. The HMO's will let you suffer, simple as that. I could go on and on. And if you want to know more, just ask. I'll reply. Her first surgery was around 2001, I believe. We met in 2003. Married after full hysterectomy in 2007. She has had her bowel nicked, without being told to do a bowel prep b4 hand which nearly took her life. She also had two post-surgical infections, one of which would have killed her had she been even 10 years older at the time. Sorry, this is a no joke disease. Do not hide from it. DO NOT TAKE LUPRON. DO NOT LET THEM TELL YOU ARE CRAZY. You may not be able to have children even with all of your baby making parts intact. My wife was pregnant early on in our relationship and it nearly killed her the pain was so intense. Questions about meds? www.askapatient.com is a non-pharmaceutical site. Again, I'm just a husband who has 10 + years taking care of my lovely sweet wife. I knew and loved her beforehand, I love her just the same now, and I will always love her unending. Never give up. Best of luck :)

i started my cycle at the age of 9 years old i was diagnosed with dismenoreha & ovarian cysts at 14 years old. i had to get an emergency laser surgery when i was 17 yrs old for an ovarian cyst they couldn't tell if it was a tumor or cyst because my ovary was wrapping around it the pain was so bad i thought i was dying. once they removed the cyst another one came back. i will be 21 years old in October this is a horrible disease i try not to let it control me but the pains are horrible sometimes my stomach swell up as if im pregnant. i hope they re search more and find a cure. thank you for your video it means a lot to know that people like you are educating people like me about endo. and spreading the awareness. 🙌👍

I have been on the endometriosis diet that she describes for 1 month now. I can tell you that my pain is literally almost gone. I used to have excruciating stabbing pains in pelvic and lower abdomen and also anal pain. Still contemplating surgery as the adhesions are still present and I'm afraid it can still spread. For anyone thinking giving the diet a try get the books that the Endometriosis Association recommends on current research and nutrition. You will not regret it!!!!

I have been battling with this for years. I had 3 laparoscopic surgeries done. And it still comes back. I am tired of being in pain. My belly swells up bad it looks like I am pregnant. It is very depressing. I am finally getting a partial hisdirectomy done. I am praying that this will work. Thanks

There is a direct link between endometriosis and fertility. A very informative video describing the problem of endometriosis. Very simple and basic language is used. This makes it very easily understandable for a person who is not familiar with the scientific or medical terms. All the information given in this video is verbal, it would have been better if there were some 3D videos or some simple and interactive pictures were also used. But still it is very good for people who want to know about endometriosis. It gives all the details of what is endometriosis, how it occurs and what is the treatment. This video is highly helpful to get complete knowledge of the problem in the simple possible language.

I found out i have Endometriosis last year for more than 4 yrs i thought i have ulcer & dysmenorrhea ;(
I hope the women here in the philippines will be more aware of Endometriosis. It is so sad to know that they dont understand what is Endometriosis including women about our sufferings because of it. They always take for granted the pain & the depression of not living you life well.
Even my friends & family wondering why i cry like that i cant move for days i cant even eat because of pain.
Today im taking guyabano leaves for tea & im happy i dont feel the same pain before. I hate myself for taking alot of painkillers for 4 yrs.
There are some women that their cysts are smaller than before.
I hope the treatment for Endo will be more advance here in the Philippines just like in the United States.
Because we need help & understanding & i want to be a MOTHER.
Im so desperate to find a doctor that will definitely help me & the other women too.

PregnancyChat , thank you for making this! I'm stage 4 and have went thru all the hoops, even test meds and therapies...femara ate 3 inches of height from my bones...went thru lots and still do..i'm not alone in this, so i'm so happy to see some awareness being made here by you. :) I've spoke with many endo women and many are misinformed...i've had a few women argue that there are 12 stages and they were 12 (they were a stage 1, actually). Incorrect education like that is upsetting, because this disease needs to be understood further...the pain is real and should not be dismissed (i had thought every girl went thru what i felt and i was being a huge wimp before diagnosis). So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

This disease was picking off women in my family before I was born. So, from the first day of my menstrual cycle the symptoms were there in full force. I had a hysterectomy at 25, with 10mo relief before all the symptoms reappeared. I've tried everything but ended up disabled by age 36, and now in my 40's I can't do any physical activities (including light housework), or eat without physical pain before I finish a meal, and still doctors don't understand or believe my condition. I've also had rare and extreme medical conditions throughout life that I can relate to endometriosis, but some doctors can't. Strangely all of my health problems are visible in my mind's eye. Try telling a doctor that! I have found every tumor and cyst in my body because I could see it in my head. I have never had a doctor inform me of a health condition I wasn't already insisting I had, and yet I'm now being told my symptoms should be dying down because of my age and how many years it's been since my hysterectomy. I'm 45 but I've been celibate since age 32 due to painful intercourse, and the endometrial scar tissue is in my back, belly, digestive tract, hip joints, with pain being a daily, non-stop enemy. I have no quality of life, and a year ago I was taken off of pain meds due to the recent restrictions on the medical field to prescribe such medications. So, I am only on a nerve pain medication and bottles of tylenol that provide no relief. So I have become bed-ridden because even doing the dishes while sitting in a chair will put me in bed moaning for 2 to 3 days. Yet, doctors tell me I should be getting better due to my age! Really? This is where I'm at after trying all medications, treatments like acupuncture, cupping, meditation, diet, exercise, omitting this and that from my life, and having continued health problems that boggle the minds of most physicians. I'm in a bed with my pain medications being taken away and every new doctor telling me what their version of endometriosis is. When will they understand MY version of endometriosis, since I'm the one suffering and I have surgical evidence to back up my symptoms. This is a disorder that doesn't have a cure because it's still not fully understood. So lifetime suffers like me continue to suffer.

I suffered many years with this ugly disease. Many different doctors b4 I was diagnosed. Severe pain during my cycle. So much bleeding I don't know how I stayed alive. Had surgery through large incision not laparoscopic. Because it had spread. What she didn't say was that removing endo its like someone poured a bottle of rubber glue in that area is why it has to be burned out. I was 40 at the time so was ok with having hysterectomy. And the pain an control it had over my life I wanted it to stop. So 4 days in hospital. About 6 weeks to feel better and 7 months to be completely over it. No regrets.

I have every symptom listed, except infertility because I never been tested so I don't know if I am or not. I've had these symptoms for the last 10 years, and haven't been able to figure out the cause of it. I've never heard of this condition until yesterday when I came across a video from lacy green on reasons for vaginal intercourse to be painful. Sex has always been painful me, I assume that maybe I was just sensitive because of my skin which is majorly sensitive. It's like having a permanent sun burn all over my body. Hurts when people touch my skin.
Would you suggest I get tested for this?

As per Ayurved endometriosis is mainly due to kapha dosha that increases the buildup of cells like a tumor. It is also due to pitta imbalance like blood involvement, hormones imbalance, menstruation and inflammatory nature of the disease. The painful nature of endometriosis is due to vata imbalance in the body. Apana vayu causes downward flow of menstrual blood. So in short, the imbalance of all three dosha is responsible for endometriosis

Roiroi Vizcarra , i have lost count of the surgeries i've had...likely around 20 or more. I'm a stage 4 from birth, but wasn't diagnosed until i was 27...they thought it was my appendix...but, surprise! lol. My point is....the surgeries aren't bad at all and they do give a higher quality of life, getting that bad stuff out of your body. You shouldn't be afraid...trust me, it does seem scary at first...and maybe all you would need would be just one surgery (hope so!)....but even with all that ive had...i am comfy with it...i joke all the way until i pass out with the gas on the operating table lol...it actually made me more confident..like mammograms and that little robe...forget that, i just stand there and let them smash my buddies and go on with life...no robe needed lol. You got this! If you have any questions, ask away! :)

I was 15 when I began having pain which only started with pain during sexual intercourse. The pain got stronger resulting in me beginning to get sharp stabbing pains and throbbing pains deep inside. I then started getting other symptoms of pelvic pain ranging from sharp pain to dull ache, pain when urinating, very painful periods and heavy bleeding which was black (dried blood). I went to doctors and the doctor checked me for several sti's and infections which came back clear so he decided to refer me to a gynecologist, I went to my appointment yesterday for this and the gynecologist suspects I may have endometreosis. This is because both my mum and auntie have had endrometreosis several times. I have booked key hole surgery. I'm really hoping if I have it its not a large amount. If I have it mild, would this mean I won't be able to get pregnant later on in life?

cutekimmie2010 Hello, thank you for contacting us. If your Auntie and your Mother have had endometriosis it is very likely that you have too based on the information that you have given. Key hole surgery is performed to remove mild and moderate endometrial deposits. Endometriosis can cause your fallopian tubes to become blocked making conception impossible endometriosis does no always cause a blockage. Your doctor will likely check your tubes when you have your surgery. Kind regards Monica Visit www.pregnancychat.com to find out more.

I suffered with endometriosis for years. Although the implone implant stopped my periods for just over 4 yrs to stop it getting worse. But the implant stopped working in the pains were worse than ever. My gynocolagist decided the only thing that was gonna help was to remove my ovaries n fallopian tubes. While I was on the waiting list I had zoledec injections which did help but caused other problems. My gp referred me to the fitzwilliam hospital which is private but do take several nhs. Within a month I had date for op which was yesterday 19th September. Even though I'm sore n uncomfy the swelling of my stomach which made me look nine months pregnant as gone down.
It was heartbreaking as I've unable to have children.

    • @pegeorgieva

+Darren Belda in the general case yes, the endo stops developing when the menstrual cycle stops. Still, there are women, who continue experiencing abdominal pain and other symptoms, even when in menopause, but this is rare.

I had 1 surgery before my hysterectomy(27). Ive had 2 more since then and Ive not had a period since age 27. Not sure how it still affects with no female parts but it does. Time for another laparoscopy I do believe. Bless us all that has this! I thought I was going crazy and finally I just said to my Dr if you can't find out whats wrong with me, then please send me to a head dr cause I'm crazy. Sure enough I had stage 3. Very painful disease!

      @pegeorgieva 8 років тому +1

+Sandy Ada consult a specialist. The only 100% sure way to diagnose endometriosis is by having a diagnostic laparoscopy. The endo is one of the hardest to diagnose diseases and this is why often remains undiagnosed until it causes serious problems, such as infertility.

As for endometriosis my symptoms are way more manageable now, I have shared a video explaining how i achieved and you will also be able to see the results of ultra sound showing the cyst shrank

Women are suffering from this due tosex based oppression worldwide. Women are not included as equally important due to shaming and sex based opression. Women's pain is NOT respected or believed due to sex based opression.. This is a WOMEN'S ISSUE. It is not a man's issue. Women are shamed worldwide especially here in 3rd world countries. Finally some are trying so freakin hard to know themselves, And even this pain and sexism is seen as so called "female cis privelage"?? It has already driven women growing up to more self hatred. This is a woman female issue.
