RE: 2025 mascara trends - My teen daughter and her friends all carry two things in their pockets throughout the day 1) lip gloss/oil & 2) eyelash curlers (!) -- it's essential for them. I laughed when you talked about 2025 mascara trends because they all experimented with mascara early on, but soon rejected it, and now all use spoolies with gobs of Aquaphor to coat their lashes. It's their version of creating their own clear high gloss mascara. It looks great! Emphasizes their lashes in a natural way -- not the dry cakey spidery flaky heavy mascara lashes that look old and dated.
I forgot about clear mascara!😅 Mascara is actually a desert island product for me. I wear everyday even if I won't come into contact with any other human. 👀
I overplucked my brows because the Y2K look when I was younger was super thin (*Kate Moss, Charlize Theron, etc.) and I deeply regret that as it took forever to grow back and never were the same.
If you want to try the look, you can blank out your brows with foundation/concealer & powder then draw on thin brow…you will probably find you don’t even like the look, but at least you will not have plucked your brows to within a 1/8 of an inch of their lives!!
I've been using brown mascara for a long time, and it has become more and more difficult finding them. Good to know they are coming back. Also, I have been waiting for a very long time for a smooth, satin finish as well as cool tones. Looking forward to seeing them. Great video. Thank you.
Yes, I have never liked putting mascara on my short and straight eyelashes. And also doesn’t care for lash extensions or fake eyelashes. So glad to see this trend coming 2025.
I like the softer brown trend, especially in mascara. It works for eyeliner too. Simpler routines seems to be in order. And, I am trending toward wearing the same makeup at night that I do during the day, with very few tweaks. My skincare routine is three steps, most of them at night. I have also re-acquainted myself with Merit products -- they seem to be high quality and create a soft and natural look.
These trends sound great to me!! Lighter Mascara, more simplified eyeshadow!! (***Yes, I'm my own victim of eyebrow plucking in the 1990's also and do not advise...they are still sparce.) I also love the simplified skin routine, more focus on bodreformulate. For loose powder, have you tried the Guerlain Parure Gold loose powder? It was new this past year and I'm really enjoying it. I believe it's more finely milled and lighter on my skin than the Huda Beauty loose powder, which was my 1st go-to when Givenchy reformulated.
Great info. It always tickles me when you mention a product that I own, like the Givenchy powder blush. I have Taffetas rose. Can’t wait for the powder video.
I loved this video. It will be interesting to see how the makeup trends change. I will probable never give up mascara but lighter coats are great. I am looking forward to your powder video too. Have a great week.
I love your mascara idea!! I share your opinion on fragrances (sexy vs. delicious). The lip color you’re wearing looks really amazing on you - if you’re into some experimentation in lip colors, I’m here for it! I’d love to see what you come up with!
I’d love to share my positive experience with the eyelash and eyebrow serums from Uklash. After using them, both my eyelashes and eyebrows have grown noticeably fuller.
So agree re: not over tweezing your brows unless you want thin brows to be your forever look. Quick note about Mocha Mousse - apparently it’s not actually a cool brown. I watch two professional color experts’ channel (they have worked for decades in the cosmetics industry), and they explained that, despite the way that some of the example photos look, the actual Pantone color Mocha Mousse is slightly warm. Seems to me that any muted browns around the same basic value, whether slightly warm, neutral, or slightly cool, will fall nicely into the whole Mocha Mousse thing and that people should just go with whichever undertone suits them.
Hello dear Michele!! I really loved this video. It was very interesting. About mascara, I really like the Lancome Lash Idole Mascara, I have it in black, but I will try it in brown too. Also I like my eyebrows very natural😊 The color on your lips is very nice and you look very pretty!!
For body care, I am lazy too- sometimes I skip body cream altogether. But lately discovered applying light non sticky body oil after shower when still damp. Its super quick and the body skin feels nourished.
I like the look on you! The lip looks great. I'm 60. I don't wear powder. I use the Rae Morris Mattifier. It works very well. My daughters are 24. They are very into skin care and great looking skin. One of them is very much a skin tint, blush, one eye color, mascara, and a glowy lip balm girl. They other likes a medium coverage base, powder, blush, several shadows, liner, mascara, clear glowy lip balm girl. Both like and use concealer. They are fans of understated mascara, no false lashes. I think having great looking skin and enhancing it is what i'm seeing with them and their friends. Anyway, that's my 2 cents on it. This was a fun post!
Loved to watch this, dear Michele, thank you!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩I wonder if Chantecaille can make a clear/transparent version of their peptide mascara, because when i do not want a full mascara look, i actually still want this super good product!!! Have a wonderful day, Michele!!!😘😘😘😘
I love my cream blushes but I wish there were more options for clean powder blushes. Majority of my makeup is clean and I only own one powder Chanel blush from when I got married 10 years ago. I miss a good powder blush! haha
I agree with you about mascaras. So great news. I stopped using them years ago: cleansing issues and the look with them stays heavy and lashes stay with "crumbs".
Interesting video, Michele, thanks. I'm happy you are on a talc-free powder quest. If you haven't yet, please try the Ilia Soft Focus Setting Powder (talc-free). It's _very_ nice!
OMG! I definitely over plucked my brows. Took so many years to get them back! Just like you, majority of the over plucked hairs never came back. I rarely have to pluck a hair out at this point from those years. Not my look ever again!
I see Christian Dior and Chantecaille bringing out similar Spring colors and I have gotten to the stage where I don't buy a new eyeshadow palette because I have the colors already. However, I am trying a new Hindash lipstick that I saw you swatch recently.
I only started to wear mascara after I turned 50 and my eyelashes thinned out a lot. Like you, I don’t like it and I hate the black spiders look. I have always been on the lookout for the brown/non-black mascaras. I wish we could get more navy mascaras as well, especially at a lower price point because mascara is the one product that I toss regularly so I don’t like to spend a lot. I also like lighter eye colors but no sparkles on these old eyelids! Give me a great satin or even shimmer. I have enough shadows that swatch beautifully on my arm, but look awful on my actual eyelids. In terms of fragrances, I hope that Diptyque brings back that Café. candle. I don’t normally go through candles and I don’t like strong scents, but that was just magical.
michele, i have never had a ""great" look with foundation. would you consider doing a video with say 3 tips and tricks for a natural, light foundation video. my foundation is always cakey, yellow, not natural looking no matter highend or drugstore, no matter applied by brush or pad. what am i doing wrong? i would just love to find a nice lightweight, natural foundation look, please help. i can never get the right shade. ???
Joey Graceffa mentioned you in his latest vlog. It’s so sweet that you give away the excess skin care you receive. I’m so happy it doesn’t just sit there and go bad. He is a gem. Btw, can we bring back big hair?! 😂
I’m a bit done with gourmand scents. Literally everything has been lactonic and vanilla. There was a slight collapse of the watch market last year and I fear perfumery will take a hit next. Over saturation and ballooning prices is insane.
I plucked my eyebrows in the 90’s too but luckily they grew back. I have thick eyebrows so maybe it’s genetics, but Im happy to be trendy 😂 for now…and I’ll never do that again.
Off topic, but Michelle the Burberry shadow (lightest color) is stunning on you as a one and done I wish I could get a single of it as I'll I've every done in general is a one and done on my lids......
My granddaughters (17 and 19), and all of the girls of their generation, concentrate on only lashes (even false lashes for special times ) and heavier eyebrows, but they wear ZERO eyeshadow or eyeliner.
They do wear bronzer and blush. However, neither of my granddaughters wear cosmetics all the time. Luckily they have nice eyebrows and darker eyelashes (not white like mine). I have spoiled them with skincare, which I am glad they are already using. They both play water polo, so keeping their skin moisturized is important. The chlorine can be very drying.

The milky caffe latte and london fog perfume is exactly my dream perfumes and what I am looking for for brand to make instaed of these uber sett affogato and tiramisu style these are way too sweet.
When it comes to the eyebrows, I’m really tired of crayon eyebrows,. You know the ones that are as large as your forehead.😂 something in the middle is nice.
Love the mention of Cassie Thorpe's nails -- just recently discovered her and her nails are mesmerizing ...she makes me laugh so much. I want to see you at Woodbury Commons with her!
Would truly love a gray mascara
I'm loving your barely-there eyeshadow and rosy lips look. You look very young and refreshing. Hope this look becomes a trend.
Thank you so much!!

Ooh that's a good idea x
I'm very happy cool toned anything is trending.
💯
Me three!!! Much appreciated by a cool toned girl here haha
I forgot about clear mascara!😅 Mascara is actually a desert island product for me. I wear everyday even if I won't come into contact with any other human. 👀
Happy New Year Michele! The lippy colour you have on in this video looks gorgeous on you ❤❤❤ it really brightens the rest of your face x
Please people! Do not pluck your eyebrows! You will absolutely regret it! I’m totally with you Michele, leave them natural!
Totally! 😄❤️
I wish someone told me they don't grow back when I was a teenager.
I overplucked my brows because the Y2K look when I was younger was super thin (*Kate Moss, Charlize Theron, etc.) and I deeply regret that as it took forever to grow back and never were the same.

Yeah, if you wanna try thin eyebrows - shave them off! They will grow back fine
I do hope that Lisa Eldridge releases a brown mascara too. ❤Her black one is the best in separating lashes and holds 24 h.
Vanilla perfume - yuk. Brown mascara👍. Keep up the good work Michele I love your relaxed approach.❤
omg this lipstick looks so good on u
Thank you so much!

I’m definitely interested in your take on the talc-free powders, thank you! ❤

Hey Michele, I'm with u on mascara. I only use it for dressier occasions because I HATE removing it every night!
Yes, it's a pain!! 😂
Love the lip color!
Great info. It always tickles me when you mention a product that I own, like the Givenchy powder blush. I have Taffetas rose. Can’t wait for the powder video.
Oh, I love Taffetas Rose too!
Love the bright lip today!
I’ve been going mascara free for the past decade out of pure laziness 😅😂
I loved this video. It will be interesting to see how the makeup trends change. I will probable never give up mascara but lighter coats are great. I am looking forward to your powder video too. Have a great week.
Thank you! I'm really excited to see how beauty trends evolve too.
Yes to the hair, simple pretty eyes, shaped natural brows, more classics please

I love the Dior loose powder. It is the velvet finish without being too dry/ too visible.
18:37 Lol made me laugh. I love brown mascara. I like light makeup for everyday. If I was doing an editorial photoshoot I would get more fancy.
I couldn’t imagine seeing you in fake lashes!! I think you have a lovely, simply elegant look 🥰
I love this video and can’t wait to see your looks this year!
Ooo the milky cafe/bubble tea fragrances. You're speaking my language:) I'm definitely one of those gourmand people you're talking about!❤
I agreed with you! I don’t like to smell delicious, lol! You make me laugh! 😂
I hope colored mascaras make a comeback in general. I also found great success with The Ordinary’s eyebrow and eyelash serum
This video was so interesting. I like some of the predictions for 2025.
Hi Michele totally agree with you about the eyebrows, don’t over pluck them you will regret it.
I’d love to share my positive experience with the eyelash and eyebrow serums from Uklash. After using them, both my eyelashes and eyebrows have grown noticeably fuller.

Thanks Libby!
I miss powder blushes! 😢
I love your makeup today. Love your lips!

I couldn't go without mascara. I feel so much younger and prettier when I wear it. I'm 61. Some people look better without it, though.
Well said, Michele. Thank you!

Omg without mascara you can’t see my eyes 😂😂😂
😁😁
Same and every time I go out without it people ask me if I am sick or didn’t get enough sleep. Guess it depends on your particular features.
Same! I wear lightweight usually brown mascara but without it my lashes are too blond see. My eyes look bald 😂
I love your look today Michele!! ❤
Thank you so much!! 💕
I better start using up some of my skincare 😮 I love my creams and serums
I remember a time when they said some Vaseline on the lashes and lips was the way to go! That was quite a few decades ago.
I’m going to be so happy if we do go to minimal mascara. I have been worried we were heading towards Tammy Faye…which is not where I want to go. 😂
Definitely not 😂😂
I agree with you about mascaras. So great news. I stopped using them years ago: cleansing issues and the look with them stays heavy and lashes stay with "crumbs".

YOU LOOK AMAZING ! So so pretty and I needed this video ❤❤❤❤
Yesss chrome mascara!!!
I love a gourmand fragrance! that potential trend doesn't bother me a bit. :)
Woohoo!! 🎉
Obsessed with Marc Jacobs nails
Soooo fabulous!
Love the lipstick shade. 🫶🏻
Thank you!!

I just started the video. I’ve already switched to brown mascara and skipping it on some days.
That’s great! ❤️❤️

Have you tried the Nars loose powder? It is my absolute favorite, and I think it is talc free. Not matte, not glowy, just good 😊
I live for that laugh at 0.50. 😂❤
😃😃😃
Nice trends😊
Love the shade on your lipstick, Michele. Any recommendations abour clear mascara?
I always wear mascara but much prefer brown mascara!

Not boba tea fragrance having me chuckle 😂😂😂
This expensive body care is a money grab because we go through body products so much quicker

Ohhhhh london fog perfume!! Yassssssss
Good morning Michele ❤❤
I like the Kosas Powder….
I don’t follow the crowd simple make up beautiful natural be yourself
I had my brows done for my highschool prom and they've never fully recovered. I've had skinny brows for 20 years 😂
Nooooooooo 😂 I can completely relate!!
Michele, one thing to try for eye brow growth is pure castor oil. I used to pluck my back in the 90s, and they were thin. Just thought I'd share.
Thanks for sharing!! 🙏
Have you tried the Tom ford new powder? the one with the brush? I just placed an order🤞
Michele have you tried the Rare Beauty finishing powder?
I haven't no... so many to try!
Luxury beauty trends colors will be safe, not too drastic since luxury is down as a whole. Do theyre not going to be too daring imo
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
First! Hi Michelle!! 👋
Hello!! 🥰
When it comes to the eyebrows, I’m really tired of crayon eyebrows,. You know the ones that are as large as your forehead.😂 something in the middle is nice.
Did you already try the Sweed Miracle Powder?
These color trends are feeling very black forest gateau 😂
Oh big hair absolutely id better buy some extra strong mouse for my curls lol xxx
I’ve never tried brown mascara so super curious to try. I love brown eyeliner. Does brown mascara show on dark lashes?
Yes, but its softer more natural look
I think brown mascara has a softer look. But not sure someone would look at your lashes and think it’s brown mascara. I hope that makes sense 😁😁
Question! How do you get your mascara to not run?
Def powder under and around your eyes and try waterproof mascara.
Yes, I plucked in the 90s too! Horrible mistake and trend. Just say no!! Lol
🤣🤣
My understanding that eyebrows are shaven for this trend not plucked. Hope ppl don't just pluck them nooo
Ohhhhhhh. Wow I don't think I'd do that either, but at least once they're grown back in they'll be ok. 🤣
I can’t abide nail art!👎🏻
The gen alphas are going to discover nars orgasm. That’s my prediction.
Yes mascara is definitely not on trend . It looks dated to me . IMO it is aging and too harsh . I’m glad to see it go . ❤
Same!! 😁😁
💜💜💖

I can’t stand gourmand fragrance! Not for me.
A famous dermatologist said that wearing make up every day will age your skin with the time because your skin need to free , breathe...
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
