My family emigrated to Ireland after suffering heavy persecution and then when the potatoe famine hit escaped on the coffin ships to the America’s. The only traditional thing that remained was renaming the children after the father. I went back to visit and was told never to use my biological name. I want to learn more about my traditions, language, and people. I feel so disconnected from my people. But even now I’m the “mom” to the travellers here. I am the last stop to get a drink, warm meal, clean socks, and a warm shower. Is there anyway you could help me become reconnected with our traditions?

A short one that goes into one particular treasure of Irish music the travellers kept alive - the uileann pipes. I think there's also a short documentary up here somewhere about the Pecker Dunne and his family - who this great song always brings back to my mind
