Wow!! Layer after layer of weathering and it just builds up to an amazing finish. Love the way you did the wing gloves. Thoroughly enjoyed this video - great job!!
I remember you said something like you can build one in 4 days... and now i understand ! I was surprised just how well everything works out... I didnt even glue on the front fuselage section as it clicks into place if the weapon pallets are first glues to that front section ! Now over to your place for some ZM action !!
I have real love for the F-14 Tomcat, I have 7 of them in 1/48 scale, with one from Hasegawa and one from Ialeri started doing the improvements, this Tomcat Hasegawa is 24 years old and still in the box, now KMD has released the F -14D super detail, mine is waiting for assembly.
@@PerisModels i would send to you easily ! the cost of postage .. i think i can send as a letter. let me check to see i have the part !! i write to you email !

hi there is a full video about weathering the f-14 on patreon. actually 4 videos explaining all details. on patreon I answer all questions and help people with there projects
I like how you made the two fuel tanks slightly different colours to increase the realism, in reality there would be the occasional variation like that aboard the ship.
big thanks Brian. i spend a lot of time researching and collecting references of the actual aircraft that i model.. that doesnt come through on the videos. big thanks 👍
@@TheBearScaleModels in building the academy 1/72 f-14a screaming Eagles, it comes with some f-14B stuff too. The famous neck joint problems plagued me but at least it taught me how to putty better. Also the landing gear doors don't fit well at all. I'm looking for a 1/48 or larger F-14 in tie down on the flight deck, could you recommend a kit? I'm also wanting to try metal landing gear 3rd party parts....
@@soundknight If its an f-14a that you want in 48th scale I would go for the Tamiya.. its just such an easy and enjoyable build. Now for an 14D.. it may be worth looking at AMK because the kit is cheaper has better decals and looks amazing also !
really love this brown weathering style! it makes the model looking so much cleaner. can't find another brown weathering f14 video on youtube. May I ask what exactly surfacer you were using in 18:40 ?
Bear I am a Vietnam Vet and I have this Kit, so looking at your vid (again) and will incorporate some of your ideas into my build, as, as a newbie I need all the help I can get;-) My first buy last year was the Tamiya 1/32 Tom Cat and its a nightmare putting together the cockpit/front wheel into the fuselage and so it just sits like a broken toy on my bench? Also I have yet to fire up my compressor and airbrush, which will be a steep learning curve. Don't you like l adding verbal comments to your vids? Thanks again for your guidance for us beginners;-)
hi Tony. sorry I don't do the voice overs on aircraft builds but I do on armour builds. I will try and make a video for newbies at some point. of course we have a patreon to help everyone and also just ask questions and I will try and help. all the best 👍
I read that the USS Enterprise (CVAN-65) was the first to take into service the Grumman F-14A Tomcat U.S. Navy Carrier-based Fighter. And that in 1972, they served off the coast of South Vietnam.
Outstanding finishings, can you confirm if you prefer Mr Hobby paint to Tamiya? And do you always keep using Mr Hobby thinners with their paint and vice versa? I'm experiencing issues at present as I've mixed paints and thinners! Keep the videos coming!
thank you ! I like both Tamiya and Mr Color... but my preference has always been for my color as they have a wider paint color range with arguably better color accuracy.. also a lot of the paints are satin giving a smoother finish. the grumman f-14a-tomcat. the top fighter aircraft in the u.s.navy. but this fightet haf few customers. uas and iran. maybe this model only have two sets of decals. but in real thing the other decal set is for the imperial iranian air force before the 1979 islamic revolution. led by the khomeni.
idk if its just me but is are the pilots reversed. feels like the pilot with his hand almost on the stick in the front and the one pushing buttons in the back (doin rio things)
Amazing attention to details on the exterior, great build!
Awesome!... I still have an F14A 1/48 by Fujimi still in its box after 40 years 👍✈️

Hello around 28,28 you use a paint yellow with brush on wheel screw
Can you teach us what it is ?
Very marvellous plane you build
i think this is vallejo lemon yellow colour paint... just simple acrylic paint from memory.
Excellent model! Weathering on point
Thanks for watching really appreciated
Amazing build!! Love this video.
Great work! How many hours did it take all built?
i dont exactly know ! all seem to take me 4 weeks... but i have never counted the hours! i should time next build !

@@TheBearScaleModels Cheers & beers from Down Under, thanks mate!
super nice build, but the seam on the F14 canopy is supposed to be there. its interior strip lighting.
The pilots’ flight uniforms are inaccurately colored, but the rest of the model looks great

No not always. If you join Patreon I have a lot of build tips and can answer questions in a very detailed way.

What is the silver pencil you are using on the cockpit?
When you do the weathering, what are you adding to the Mr. Weathering? Also, loved this video, the final product looks awesome!
thank you glad you like 👍that is enamel thinner
@@TheBearScaleModels Thanks heaps, I'm purchasing this model soon and it will be my first attempt at weathering :)
Where did you get the wheels?
What’s the name of the song ?
What is the base brown color you used at first on the basic camouflage/body before the 315?
Your videos are really nice.👍 I Subscribed you just now🙂
Big thank you 👍😁
Sorry i missed the premiere. My alarm didnt remind me.
no problem at all Mike see you on the flip side !!
What scale, please?
Why can't you brush some parts?By the time you have mixed and set up your air brush you could of been done,Just curious.
In my experience the airbrush just has a nicer finish than brush painting
