When I told my wife the title of your video she said "best day ever? What did he find, the Arc of the Covenant " because you find such great stuff every time
Ha! Sorry Rex. but you have to sail pretty close to the wind with thumbnails and titles these days the competition is more and more severe! Hope all well and thanks for watching!
Perspective: You found more today than most will find in a lifetime of digging. Congratulations
Thanks Rhett! Hope all well with you!
Excellent job as usual. You just keep adding new effects! I just returned from my Norfolk trip. Despite rain and mud, I found 11 hammered coins, a lovely Angel gold coin weight and my first gold sovereign, 1858.
Good work Chuck! Sounds like a good trip! Sorry the weather was so crappy - its often like that but not always! Hope all well!
Wow what a special day Alexander 👍👍 thank you Phil
Not at all Phil thank you for watching! Hope all well!
Love your videos Alexander. You make me smile you happy and gentle soul. Slainte 🍻
Thanks Jim! 🙏 Hope all good with you! 😁
Another great day out, certainly found some lovely bits, that pasture has done you well 😁😁👍
Thanks Ed! Hope all well with you!
What a great time you had digging today with some very nice finds, i do like the unusual buckle and has some age to it, what a find and the soil there is so easy digging. Congrats on all your finds including the hammered silver 👌 Take care and HH 👍 Tony
Thanks Tony.. the soil is nice to dig, its quite sandy but really hardens up when its dry but conditions here at the moment are near perfect! Hope all well and thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
So many lovely things, so little time. Another spectacular video that I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank-you.
Very glad to hear that thank you Brian! And hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
What a splendid array of wonderful finds. The ONLY thing I found at the weekend was a Victorian ploughshare, identical to one I found 20 miles away a couple of weeks back. Your videos always inspire me with hope!
Oh God, sorry Tim - I will be keeping my fingers crossed for less big iron for you next time! I don't dig much big iron because I ignore those signals but that probably means I have missed out on the odd hoard over the years! 😁 Hope all well!
Wow Alex another great show , I know you are very much a one band man in your production ( plus one dog ) so am always impressed and will not skip a vid.
I have a show and tell to do at a rather nice private school and will be sure to mention your channel 😉🇨🇦
That would be really kid thank you Steve! Are you still finding the good stuff over there?! All the Best, Alexander
Fabulous finds! Another really entertaining video. You've also convinced me the Deus Lite is the one for me after a ten year hiatus. Thankyou!
Good news Barry, if you buy one through LP Metal Detecting,,then I can get you a discount and I will get looked after a bit too! They are a very good and professional team with great customer service! Hope all well and thanks for watching!
@HolzHammer Sagas Thats a very welcome bit of information. Thankyou so much! Ill be in touch about that for sure.
So enjoyable Alex. I end up giggiling with you. Thanks for the fun + beautiful finds. Love to Trasci, + you keep well.
Great finds as usual. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Philip!
Another excellent episode from the master, great finds again, love that very interesting buckle. It must take you hours to do these video's!!
Anyway thank you once more Alexander for keeping us all entertained - love the haircut😆👍
It does take a bit but definitely getting quicker bodger and managing to fit it in! Thanks as always for watching - glad you like the haircut I don't!!!! Or maybe I don't like the fact that Im getting older and there ain't so much of it these days!!! All the Best!
Amazing finds again Alex. Well done. Xx
Thanks Amanda! Hope all well with you! X
I really enjoy watching your videos. The mix of digs and background information is very enjoyable to watch. Just started detecting and I am loving it. Cheers from the Netherlands
Hi Paul and hope all well over there! thanks for watching and good luck with it! I look forward to hearing of some monumental finds! All the Best, Alexander
Great finds Alex. I even enjoy the mundane objects like the Roman toggle and the buckle. The Augusta's nose really wasn't that bad! Not in the sculpture anyway.
No probably not but on some of her coins ...! I have always fancied girls with strong noses anyway! 😂 Hope all well Tucker!
Oh Alexander well beautiful coins and buckles what a perfect day
Thank you Claire!!! I am so sorry not to have got back to you thanks for the text - i will later! x
Congrats Alex. You were in particularly good form in this outing, both finding and presenting. And you looked suitably embarrassed finding so much interesting stuff!!! Cheers
Ha! Thanks Wayne!!! Hope all well with you and thanks for watching!
You made out like a highwayman again Alexander. That fields been very good to you.
Ha! Thanks Don stand and deliver! Just wait though I have found some incredible stuff last two weeks... I feel a bit like dr.Faustus! Hope all well with you!
You make me so jealous. Glad you got stung because taski wasn't there 😅😂. Hreat finds mate. Wowzer
Ha! Thanks Gavin - it didn;t hurt! 😂 ... too much!
Looking good all the way round as usual! Keep practicing and you may need to hire an assistant to dig those holes. Thanks for sharing and most wonderful finds. Take care and hope to get out later this week. Hope some of your luck is passed this way.😊
Hope so to BC - let me know how you get on I will have my fingers crossed for gold!
@@HolzHammerSagas two hunts, no gold, but civil war brass, lead and one silver. Plenty of soul refreshments! Take care
💗💗 Hi Ally so many interesting finds ,is the Blackthorn Blossom out yet over where you are ? ,it looks wonderful alongside the hedgerows here ! Ally the buckle was beautiful and such a wonderful shot of you smoothing away the earth to show the pattern and how the buckle was made and used...Tasci was very quiet at H Q hope he wasn't up to mischief like our little one squeezing under the coffee table and any small space he can find, his furry bed is a rabbit hole in his imagination can't seen it lasting much longer😂😅but Terry does encourage him by scratching the outside haha 😅 Sending fondest best wishes from us both xxxShaz 💗💗💗
Hard work but the fun you get out of a puppy well worth i!!!! make a quick vid on your phone - the less classy the better - make sure its in " portrait" and under q minute long a make a short!!! Cant wait to see it! x
@@HolzHammerSagas Will try that Ally ,Thanks ! 💗 I tried sending you a video by email but a flash came up " The file was too big " to send ? XxxShaz 💗
Another fantastic film and session, really enjoy the films you create and must take so much time, all the best for the next one😃👍
Thanks BS - thats much appreciated... they do take a long time but I enjoy it and am managing to fit everything in and so I'll keep at it for the time being! Hope all well and thanks as always for watching! 🙏
I found an identical double ended buckle a few years back.that decorated bit of bronze is a knife end stop(8:25)cool video and finds mate...👍👍
I think you are right thats exactly what it is thanks Vlad! And thanks as always for watching 🙏 All the Best, Alexander
Wonderful Alex,
beautiful finds as usual & a great video.
Thank you.
No problem Tony - thanks for wacthing! And All the Best, Alexander
great finds Alexander, love to see you in the fields
Thanks Dom! Hope all well!
I enjoy how you research your finds. Thanks for the video.
Thank you very much Terry! I did a video on my other channel about researching finds; part one was about coins and I will do part twoon Artefacts another time; let me know if you want me to send you the link! And hope all well - thanks for watching
Hi Alex, great finds and very enjoyable to watch your videos.
That double eyelid you found made me think of a horse bit bracket.
I did see on line different shapes of bracelets that are worn as jewellery.
The idea is taken from the horse bit garment's.
It may help you to determine the origin of this amazing find.
Wishing you more great finds.
We think that you are in the most amazing areas to find such great items.
Compared to other detectorists.
Thumbs up Alex.
Greetings from down under.
Thanks Boudewijn! I am very lucky to be able to detect in this part of the UK i really do know it! I couldn't be better placed... and thanks for the knowledge on the horse bit bracket I think you may well be right.. and thanks for watching too! All the Best, Alexander
Was a great Hunt amazing finds well done Alexander
Thank you Peter! 🙏 And hope all well with you!
Really enjoy your vids I am so envious, no relics of age here in Western Australia but we do have gold, I am a bit far from that though. You have another little gem, your dog he is beautiful. Thanks.
He is very good news Steve??? he used to come out with me a lot when he was little but his hunting instinct is so strong if i take my eyes off him for a second he's off!!! WE went out this morning though and found a nice hammered coin... I always take him with me on land I know really well as it doesn't matter if he takes off - I know he is safe! Thanks for watching and All the Best, Alexander
Love your videos ... keep up the good work ! I'm an American detector an have no chance of finding Roman things obviously . I hope to take a tour an find my own stuff over there some time . Hang in there an dig all your signals.
Will do, thank you Joseph! And thanks for watching - We are very lucky to be able to detect where we do and i would advise a trip when you can - Its the sort of thing I would like to organize one day - on a very small, and select scale! Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
The pleasure of a beautiful buckle. I’m still regularly picking up my latest medieval one just to hold it again - so tactile. The ribbon one I have is easily in my top 5 best buckles and I doubt I’ll ever find another. BTW they were cast so not that difficult to make really although I notice yours, like mine, was filed on the inside folds. Great finds and another brilliant video.
I agree about them perhaps not being so hard to make as they were csst but still, In the rococo period onwards it would be a doddle but the imagination in 1300... there is nothing to really compare it to such a clever illusion! Thanks Cath, and i couldn't find much else like them maybe yours and mine are the only ones! 😁 Hope all well
Some fun on that field this time round. And the elusive ring pull has been found!! Huzzah!! The buckle, & that spring-like thingey - toggle? - I think they're pretty neat. Making everyday things into art. Thanks for the vid, & good luck on your next outing.
Thanks Francine you were obviously feeling very poetic when you came up with those first two lines! 😁 Hope all well with you! All the Best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas Laughing. I didn't even notice. Must not have been quite awake yet I guess.
@@francinescott7405 it scanned perfectly!!!!! 😂
Well done and thanks for sharing 👍
No problem Archie - thanks for watching!
Oodles of good finds! Good hunting... thank you for making the video and taking us "Yanks" on the adventure with you! :) (I get to wander the English countryside vicariously this way!)
Ha! Glad to be of service Dean! And hope all well with you over there! All the Best, Alexander

What a amazing day you had. Well done 👍
Thanks Amanda! Hope all well!
brilliant video Alex, some really special finds there 1971 seems to be the best era to :)
It was a very good year!!! 😂 Thanks BD! Hope all well!
Great video very informative as usual. Coins are fantastic but like you I love finding personal artefacts. I recently found a Roman ring that's with the FLO at the moment, just the thought of it being worn by someone blows my mind. Keep up the great work. 👍
It is mind blowing to think of those things being used so many years ago John! And well done on your ring; you will have to give me the PAS number once it is recorded. Hope all well!
Fantastic video again Alex loved the buckle. Len
really a bit special that one... Hope all well Len, thanks for watching!
Wow Alexander, i hope your lucky streak continues. Love the buckle and the Edward Groat stunning. Looking forward to the next. Regards Ian
Thanks Ian and thanks for watching... it does continue if anything it gets better I hate to say! Had a few good days but now a bit of time off while looking after the (5yO) boy! Hope all well!
Great video yet again, hope your healing well
Getting there thanks William! Hope all well!
Great finds what good permissions I’ve had a month of nothing hoping it will change . Good luck on your next 👍🍀
Im sure it will Jesse keep at it... I'm due a very lean spell... Hope all well I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
Turn off that 'Boring Alarm' on your camera Alexander, you are never boring.
I look forward to every video you do and found this one waiting when I trudged home from the fields after a few hours detecting on the last of the stubble (still hard work)! Found a Romulus and Remus Roman coin on the surface! Not much Roman about normally.
Thanks again, please keep them coming.
good work Jay that will be a Roma Commemorative - one of my favoutite designs ever - it features in my top 5 Roman Bronze coins on my other channel! Well done! All the Best, Alexander
Another excellent video, Alex. What a lovely hammered coin. My Celtic coin is up for auction tomorrow with Spink at 1100 hrs. Cheers 🥂
Good luck Robert! 🤞😁
The excellent field always has a nice variety. I wondered what those double buckle things were.
I found another gilded one a couple of days ago - hard to find something more tactile in my book Paul
@@HolzHammerSagas it's good to find a mystery artifact every now and then. Not too many though.
Thank you for today’s video. Extraordinary finds today! Quite a field to detect on. Always great to see you Alex. Hope your doing well. See you on the next! Cheers mate! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
All good here Martin and hope with you too! Thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander

Great finds and thanks for the vid.
Thanks for watching Sidney and hope all well!
Another great video mate some wonderful finds ❤
Thanks HMDUK - much appreciated!
The large hammered was very nice!!
Very good hunt too.....even that small hammered is awesome!!
What was the bird in the beginning of the video??
Ok holler back Alex!!
Red Kite Tim... they were pretty much extinct in the UK 30 yers ago... a couple of nesting pairs in Wales... then they were re-introduced in the Oxfordshire Area in the 90s and are now everywhere in large numbers! Talk about success stories! Hope all well I'll email soon! 😁
Wow bloody amazing finds once again, don't know if I could of left that field voluntarily, batteries would have to run out first. That buckle was absolutely stunning. Can't wait for the next one 😊
I actually quite like leaving a field before I am ready Angela - I like the feeling that there will be something to come back for! 😁thats another reason for not digging every signal! Hope all well and thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
Brilliant day Alex so interesting Thank you
No problem Paul, Thanks for watching and hope all well!
I've been watching detecting videos all day and have just found you - I *love* your enthusiasm and appreciate you sharing your knowledge and research. Most detecting videos are either full of 🍆 jokes, showing off or silly dancing 🙂
Thank you very much Murray and thank you for watching these little films - its much appreciated! Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
fantastic hunt. awesome!
Thanks Looter8 - much appreciated! Hope all well!
Love that buckle. Very unusual. Great video
as always.
it is quite unusual I think Geoff - I love it! Hope all well and thanks for watching!
Super buckle. Well done.
Its a bit special that! Thanks Nick
Your videos are educational, entertaining, and always a pleasure to sit and watch. Thank you. 👏
Thanks Mark - very kind of you to say so! 🙏 Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
Alexander I would love to see what that dagger chape Looks like after you get a cleaned up. That ribbon belt buckle is just stunning what craftsmanship that would have been to make that.
Now will both of those items appear on the portable antiquity site?
Thank you again Alexander for the brief trips back to headquarters They're very helpful and And I really enjoy all the information you provide.
I'll do an update for you in the next video Christian - don't know wether I will have them listed I have had not very good experiences with the PAS I'm afraid ... they still have two "treasure" items of mine... over 5 years now i suspect they hae lost them as they went very quiet about two years ago... anyway, Hope all well! And thanks for watching!
@HolzHammer Sagas Thank you for the reply Alexander, did you hear about the missing items from the FLO secured site...West Country Clegg did a video on the Amory. It appears that the FLO was trying to cover it up but was not the person responsible for stealing the items. The whole systems seems ki d of broken. As a Detectorist you do your part but it seems like the "Sceme" is not working. Sorry to have brought up a sensitive subject I know you feel very strongly about.
What a great day that was! Such unusual things I have never seen dug.
Me neither thanks for watching Cyndye - bit longer than usual.. too long? As a long time subscriber I would love to know your thoughts! 😁 Hope all well!
@@HolzHammerSagas Right on the cusp. But you had so many interesting items, that it made it all worth the time.
I think the PAS are being a trifle conservative again there .I've only ever found one up here in Derbyshire but was given a tenth century date by Derby museum a really nice evocative piece and looks really robust too .great vid as ever .us xp lite owners got to stick together ,who needs numbers anyway .
I agree David - I really don't see the point on being told every single number...! My main rule is, depending on your mood, if its not iron it might be worth digging! Hope all well and thank you for watching! All the Best, Alexander
Wouldn't miss it for the world alex.i think that it's a bit like fine tuning your hearing and Intepreting the signal with no visual distractions diverting your attention .Am absolutely certain that a percentage of the distant shadow type signals are in fact non ferrous good targets just too deep for its discrimation facility .On the video with the Deus 2 lady with the Deus 2 all well and good it was a more distinct response but I couldn't but think has it just got a higher spec better speaker ?.the jury,s out .I,ll stick with mine .all the best Dave .
Great video as always!!!! Nice finds and a super groat!!! Congrats and thanks for such wonderful hunts!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching Ray - its much appreciated! And hope all well
When are you taking me out with you 😉 fantastic videos 👍

@@HolzHammerSagas so relaxed spot on what it should be with the when you find out what it is the big OMG and then a picture a film run out in your head of the field place it was lost and how
🍀🍀🍀
Thanks Stephan!
Hi Alex. You run at 2.5 reactivity in hot prog, do you change the frequency?
Nope - I have tried but if I lower the frequency and or reactivity then I find deep small iron is more deceptive ( remember Colin I only use the lite)… after nearly seven years my ears are excellent now at reading tiny wispy signals as good targets… any higher in the settings of sensitivity and lower reactivity means that the iron starts fooling me and I don’t want to waste my time with that… but that’s just the way I like it and what I have become accustomed to - Hope all well!
@@HolzHammerSagas Thanks for the quick reply Alex. There is no doubt whatsoever that you are well tuned into lite, it clearly works well. I will have a go at your settings today.
@@colinsmale8146 I hope it works for you - let me know how you get on! I suspect lowering the freqency a little will help with the deeper signals and shouldn't effect small silver too much...
Hi. You have some amazing permissions.
I'll go all day and be happy with a button on mine. 😭
Thanks Alan - I know I am very lucky... but I still work my average permissions quite a lot and that brings me down to earth! But you just never know do you? I am fortunate enough to have a big permissio in North wales... I have now searched it for years its really only buttons and very very worn face-less coins but beautiful land... and then one day in a field i had done fpr possibley 100 hours or so ( and possible found 200 or so buttons!) i found a gold sovereing of george III! So it pays to keep trying! Hope all well
Another amazing dig Alexander. Brilliant buckle & lovely hammered! That permission is a belter.
