I'm still so baffled by the controlling the future mechanic and the fact you guys managed to do it. Mad props to you all!
My understanding is the first time the mechanics go off, you're just watching them happen but take no damage. The purpose is to show you what mechanics are ABOUT to happen. Your shadow's position will be wrong, but you still want to follow it to see exactly what mechanics/debuffs you'll be getting. Then the second time they happen you have to execute those mechanics correctly now that you know which ones are on who.

Alexander calculates what you will do in the future during Fate Calibration(the clones you see), then after seeing what you will do he attacks you with his mechanics.
You use the enigma codex to change the future, and save yourself by doing the mechanics correctly!

This is just so beautiful. The fight design, the visuals, the way the mechanics are telling the lore of the boss and the pristine clarity in which you guys were able to execute after I am sure so many hours of dissecting each part. Can't like this enough, it is for sure the best piece of content SE has released in FFXIV so far.

@@altansipdrae2759 yeah Alex is looking into the future to find a way to kill you, but if you did the heart mechanic correctly and have the enigma codex, you can counter him by looking into the future yourself and know what he's planning, and then avoid it

@@ruanahli i started playing around the end of june this year and binged the msq and some side quests so a lot is new to me still 😅
This is post-endgame, 'Ultimate' which is a specially curated fight from the Devs to be the hardest possible content while still being possible and fun. Further (obviously) this is the world first, which means that all the information they had was likely gathered from doing it over and over; as well as repeated past mechanics from any and all fights previous in the whole game. Fortunately they tend to be focused around the featured boss(es) or use same/similar icon/telegraphy from recent content.
It very much is a challenge of recognizing what the game is asking you to perform, remembering patterns, keeping track of skill sync with party members, and all the while getting as close to a perfect rotation as you can for the entire fight.
Everyone so hyped at the end made me happy haha. Omg though really amazing I hope to beat this fight some day

People saying "hurr durr triggers, machine, private servers"... and yet... I dont see them doing it, even with act triggers which apparently makes it super easy... is just like having a co-pilot in Rally racing, the person is there to give instructions and follow map * simplifying their job way to much here but eh *, but just becauase they have that person with them, it doesnt mean just anyone can do well/properly in a rally race...
People either got jealous or talked about things that they barely understand and do (raiding). All of the claims were beyond ridiculous to say the least (private servers? really? like the fight released - with the final adjustments - on Tuesday, and in the span of 4 days, they managed to decrypt, write the code and the script and run it on a private server, Jesus!). The guys deserve the win, they played very well and consistently. A well deserved WF.

how are you mashing some of your abilities on your hot bar as fast as they were? mouse macro? that was like rapid fire, just wondering how I can get something like that setup on my mouse.
Get a specific mouse. I use the razer naga for any MMO gaming and it's a godsend.
I use a G600, so I am able to have it just spam the ability keypress that fast? like theres no way a human thumb can spam click one key that fast thats why im mainly asking as it would be helpful for my hand.

They should have a supreme ultimate fight that merges all the ultimate fights together into one massive fight.
I LOVE the alexander fights but I've yet to do any savage content due to my family situation, but this is gonna be the one fight I genuinely want to grind out one day.

Damn, I started the game a week ago and I'll just say that I hope one day I get to understand what the hell is going on this fight.
i am 2 years into playing this game, this raid is the final fight i havent beaten yet, but we are close to beat it
in my opinion, this fight is the most spectacular fight out of all ff14 raids so far. I hope you can also experience it. its truly an amazing fight.

How long did It take you guys to figure out true heart? Did you see it on another stream or did someone suggest the correct idea?
As far as I understand it, it was by complete chance. Someone dropped the crystal in the incorrect spot and then they realized that the heart interacted with it. So they tried it out and... it worked.

@@GrandMagicOfRegnum paisley park doesn't just read the code like other programs like ACT does, it also injects it too which is how the waymarks move around. This is definitely against ToS and moves way past the grey area of whether it should be allowed.

@@GrandMagicOfRegnum The owner has since removed the injection part of it and there were talks of making a client side version so only the user could move waymarks, but AFAIK no one uses it anymore. The reason I wrote this post was because Square did mention that they did notice them using it in their clear, they just chose not to do anything to them (tps). Instead they gave us what we use in game now, more waymarks and the ability to save presets.
