Robert Stack sowed his wild oats until he was 37 years old. He always spoke so proudly of his momma. Robert was known as a true gentleman and a man of great integrity which some mistook for aloofness but Robert wasn’t one to get together with the guys, drink to much, and be indiscreet as they enjoyed doing-bragging about conquests wasn’t his style. He was in around 40 movies plus his TV work. I enjoyed his acting. Interestingly, the Piikani Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy honored him by inducting him into their chieftainship in 1953 as Chief Crow Flag. Once Robert committed to marriage, unlike so many others in Hollywood, he fully committed. Robert and his wife, Rosemarie, loved each other and were inseparable. I had to go look at pictures of Rosemarie and them together. She was drop dead gorgeous, very good looking couple. I do like a good love story. Thanks for the video.
I'm 76 & have always liked Robert Stack's performances, since the 1950's! I was surprised to learn that his mother was a very close friend to Carol Lombard & that he considered she & her husband, Clark Gable, to be a"surrogate aunt & uncle"! He did his duty in WWII ; "sowed his wild oats", as Jimmy Stewart did, until 37 & then settled down for life! He was a great 'second lead' in movies & should have gotten more leading roles! R.I.P. Bob!
I have to confess that I found his acting kind of wooden, pretty stiff. Not a lot of range. That being said, I had a lot of respect for him and within certain roles which suited his talents, such as Elliot Ness in 'The Untouchables', he shone.
How come there's no photos of him with his wife instead of Elizabeth Taylor Jane Powell & Lauren Bacall? They were a devoted couple so it would have been nice to see!
That's because in assembling this, the poster had no access to them. What he used was random, publicity photos, that are not arranged in any logical progression that supports the narration.
Thanks, I really enjoyed this look at Robert Stack's life and relationship with his wife. I remember Stack from my youth. I didn't know anything about his personal life.👍👍
Yeah, I finally found an actor who is actually admirable. And I can't count the times when he's inspired me to gravely intone, "..no, that's just what they'd be expecting us to do." (Airplane!)
When you're someone that comes from a background like his. You can go after whatever your dream is. He was a fine actor and I always enjoyed him. The first time was in 1956 when I was 11 years old. He starred in a film with Rock Hudson and Dorothy Malone called, "Written On The Wind". His career took off and with "The Untouchables" on TV he became a huge star and success.
Well good for him I give guys like him a lot of credit you know stay working go home to the family and you didn't hear a ounce of scandal about and nice guy that a rare act to follow I wish I could be like him
Huge crush on him in “The Untouchables “ unless I didn’t have a bigger crush on the gangsters, however I was never able to go to sleep, until I knew he didn’t get hurt by any of them, Silly girl
Robert Stack once commented that when he was starring as Eliot Ness in television's "The Untouchables," he had to keep buying new shoes because he spent so much time on one knee examining "corpses" who'd been shot.
There were three celebs my mother fancied, in the shape of Eric FLEMING, (Gil FAVOR, Rawhide) Gerald FLOOD, (Col. MAMOOD, Crane) and Robert STACK (Eliot NESS the Untouchables) as her son, I like to think she had good tastes, especially as I had the best Dad EVER !
I'm so glad that Robert Stack did not take Spencer's Tracy's comment to Heart. When I heard that I was thinking in my mind it would have made me work harder to be a good actor, great actor. Delve into the craft and be the best actor he could possibly be, and he was a great actor. I don't quite agree with his earlier days of bachelorhood yet when the Lord called him and gave him who he was looking for all along and the love that comes with it.
Where are the pictures of him with his wife which woman was he married to , oh well I’ll Google it. Found many pictures of him with his wife why you couldn’t is beyond me
As far as Oscars, there was at least one person who made a very good living out of promoting movies for awards. I don't know when that sort of activity started, but it certainly suggests the Robert Stack didn't feel the need to buy a statuette. Her name was Roni Chassen, and she was murdered in her car. As far as I know,it is still unsolved.
The reason that he didn’t make it “ big “ in the movies might have been because he wasn’t exciting enough,he wasn’t “ hot “ enough ,he was good looking but not enough “sex appeal “ ,he lacked that “something something “ ,he was a little bland .
He was in love with Carole Lombard since he was a kid. She lived near his family at a summer place and allowed him to get too close. He was just totally taken with her. He was known as a bit of a jerk. He was cool. Cold. He like Peter Lawford didn’t relate to people very well. But he did have some who liked him somewhat. He wasn’t the best actor.

I always loved watching Unsolved Mysteries with my mom back in the '80s

He was so great a star who doesn't love Robert Stack, his voice set the stage when he did Unsolved Mysteries

As a child, I enjoyed him in The Untouchables, which changed television forever. His performances were wonderful.
Robert Stack was the BEST Host of " Unsolved Mysteries ".

My grandfather was in the navy with him they we're buddies & they double dated
Nice anecdote! Thanks for mentioning it.
Robert Stack in the Untouchables and loved the show. Thanks for telling his story! Yes the Unsolved Mysteries show and now i remember that shiw.
MR STACK WAS A REALLY WONDERFUL ACTOR. HE WAS VERY TALENTED AND BEING VERY HANDSOME WAS A PLUS.
I'd say his wife Rosemarie was worth waiting for . What a beautiful woman .
How come there's no photos of him with his wife instead of Elizabeth Taylor Jane Powell & Lauren Bacall? They were a devoted couple so it would have been nice to see!
I wondered about it too. what's the point and how confusing.
That's because in assembling this, the poster had no access to them. What he used was random, publicity photos, that are not arranged in any logical progression that supports the narration.
I’ve googled pictures of her. She was absolutely gorgeous.
Google Robert Stacks wife..She was gorgeous.

So good looking with the greatest speaking voice! So funny in Airplane!

I just discovered his younger self again in Mortal Storm with Jimmy Stewart ❤
Congratulations

deserving of the time of your hearers
and success in telling it well
I loved Robert Stack
Me too,for some reason,he turned me on,not many actors do.I loved watching, and hearing his unique voice.
I’ve always heard that Stack had class and treated people well.
I sure had a crush on him when I was young.
His wife was beyond gorgeous!!!!!
Well good for him I give guys like him a lot of credit you know stay working go home to the family and you didn't hear a ounce of scandal about and nice guy that a rare act to follow I wish I could be like him
A very much underrated actor.
❤ May you Rest in Love and Peace.🕯🌹♥️🙏🏻
You talked more about his career and love life but never showed pics of him and his wife
Extremely handsome
Yep !
I remember him from Unsolved Mysteries & had part in the movie "Airplane"!
Robert Stack did fantastically as the host of Unsolved Mysteries! Perhaps YOU maybe able to help solve a mystery!
What is so surprising about a man not finding love at 37?
A very handsome and underrated actor.
Huge crush on him in “The Untouchables “ unless I didn’t have a bigger crush on the gangsters, however I was never able to go to sleep, until I knew he didn’t get hurt by any of them, Silly girl
The pilot in airplane was played by his brother, Peter Graves.
Wonderful!!❤❤

I‘m not the only one who loves him to this day.😊
The image of the shirtless pirate with a sword, was Burt Lancaster, not Robert Stack.

The car crash in 1969 caused injuries to his wife and the other
Passenger died
She died in 2019!
Enjoyed!

What do you mean 1st rate movies? He was in "Airplane." What do you want?
The reason that he didn’t make it “ big “ in the movies might have been because he wasn’t exciting enough,he wasn’t “ hot “ enough ,he was good looking but not enough “sex appeal “ ,he lacked that “something something “ ,he was a little bland .
The Untouchables was big at our house
He was straight while all the writers, producers, and movers wanted new boys
Did Stack need someone stacked?
He was in love with Carole Lombard since he was a kid. She lived near his family at a summer place and allowed him to get too close. He was just totally taken with her.
He was known as a bit of a jerk. He was cool. Cold. He like Peter Lawford didn’t relate to people very well. But he did have some who liked him somewhat.
He wasn’t the best actor.
What made you think that you could write Eanglish sentences?
And your headline is grammatically incorrect again
The narration and shown pictures are BORING !!!
"Beavis & Butt-Head Do America"...
when does a unmarried man turn into a bachelor? also not 37 years u goof ball, he bit the bullet 10-12 years past the average beat down dude.
A non-story...
I always found him stiff in his acting.
Rosemary Stack died as a result of injuries she sustained in a car wreck that also killed her passenger.
Respect
RIP Rosemarie Stack
and thank you for sharing
Boring
You can 86 that pro-abortion ad!
I saw a Covid 19 booster shot promo. Just as bad.
I think he was in a closet Gay at the beguining …of his career
Nope. He shared an apartment with the young JFK.
Judging by the thumbnail, he is definitely a breast man, the downfall of many a bachelor, it wears off...
