Yeah he's such a great advocate for the LS. LS really is the hardest and most underrated weapon in the game. People don't understand how mishandled and under powered this weapon has been.
Yea every LS main should try a other wapon some times. How good that you can take 2 wapons with you. So maybe i replace my second LS I will carry with me with another wapon for fun and try it out
Another beginner tip, “guard points” (animations that allow you to block attacks) now highlight your shield in white. So it’s easier to spot what is and isn’t a guard point so you can practice the timing.
I love how both Charge blade and switch axe have their respective axes mode more involved in the moveset unlike previous games where you just spam on or the other of their attacks.
@@magicmungis8822Savage Axe was a really neat addition, using an ability that Charge Blade already had- the spinning blade during Amped/Super Amped Element Discharge.
@@magicmungis8822 Ah, I actually didn't play much of World Switch Axe. Do phial bursts happen in Axe mode after charging the bar full and it gets that glow?
It is pretty tiny by default lol. Though, if I remember correctly, there are a bunch of UI options that include scaling up or down things like the phial display.
@@Uber_GoobTube Its still too small tbh. Its really tiny compared to the rest of the UI in that aprt of the screen, like HP/stamina. I was playing on my TV and a bit far away from the screen. Tbh there should be an 'extra large' option :P
Thank you so much i was looking for this. I’m an insect glaive main looking for my second weapon~ charge blade looks sexy and even more with the new spiderrose look.
Guard point also highlighted with the white glow, so at least in Wilds you don't have to guess which move can do a guard point... Not sure whether they had this in World / Rise or not...
Ive watched a handful of weapon videos from multiple people. It really seems like they went, ok what were the biggest issues in World with these weapons? Ok. Lets fix that. Everything i have seen so far for the weapons I am most familiar with, have been absolute home runs in the way they kept the identity, covered some weaknesses, and made everything look worthy of a sequel. Well done Capcom, and thanks for this video Ruri. So hype to try it myself later.
Hammer hammer hammer!! :D the combo strings are insane. Tip: If you hold triangle just before spinning bludgeon ends, you do a delayed golf swing and can go straight into another spin from that
another piece of into for the newbies when charging your sword, you get a skill called "minds eye" it prevents your weapon from bouncing off the monster, even if you overheat your sword by not loading phials. its nice to have incase you accidently forget to load phials, you generate too many phials at once or the monster has hard skin that would normally make your weapon bounce
i think this is like the most low key OP thing on the charge blade. I remember in world when i was playing different weapons in the beginning and went into yellow sharpness i would bounce most attacks. On CB you just forget theres weapon bouncing at all. Aaaand this also creates bad habits if you play for too long ;)
Nah thank you for the guide this helps a lot been trying to learn the weapon for a while but without a proper training dummy I was lost. Watching other videos where they used abbreviations to explain moves threw me off too. I think I will be fine now
I like the extra AED step before SAED. It forces SAED-style users to consider more of the rest of the weapon's moveset and not just hyper-fixate on SAED.
I hate it. I loved that playstyle and honestly don't enjoy playing pizza cutter. I think this change is terrible to the point where it makes it hard for me to enjoy the weapon at all (which sucks bc it's my favorite weapon). Not sure what I want to main now that they have effectively killed the style I enjoyed so much. Not a fan of "forcing" players to play a certain way instead of giving more freedom of expression.
@@raidennc I understand the shortcuts to SAED were always supposed to be "secret tech," and given how many people knew about it now, I get how they might want to change it up a bit. You're not locked into a pizza cutter style. You can always still use AEDs in much the same manner as you used SAED before. It's not like the sword hits aren't powerful enough. I do get that it's not quite the same. Might I suggest the Switch Axe or the GS? I am also a CB main.
I have found that I am unable to use Savage ax chainsaw attacks by holding the attack button while using focus mode to aim them. I don't have enough fingers to move the right analog stick And hold press the circle button. Would you recommend using mouse and keyboard?
only if thats more comfortable. you dont need to use focus mode to aim, but if its something you wanna do then experimenting with keyboard might be a good idea
@PvtGlarb I've been enjoying the ability to change my facing while an attack is going off, especially for attacks that have a large commitment like the AED and the saed. I don't really see a visible downside to using focus mode except for the fact that it gives off a very different feel that monster Hunter didn't have before. I don't know if the developers intended for somebody to want to use focus mode at all times but I honestly don't see a downside and the upside is the ability to continually aim as monsters shift around
I will have to test this as well. I cant comprehend how can you move right analog and press circle at the same time, for me both of those use my thumb finger :P On PC i played world on mb+kb and i had to get used to it, after PS4, but it could be that its way more comfortable. Just remember that focus mode is a separate action to hold, so probably some side mouse button action would be best to activate it
Do you get infinite phials with savage axe? I swear I've done discharges and looked up to see my phials still full. Pretty sure the only move that drains phials in savage axe is saed and maybe the aed follow up
I could be wrong, but I don’t think you can get the savage axe transformation from a gaurd point. I think it’s only from a perfect neutral guard. During the whole of the ps beta I wasn’t able to get it from a guard point. I’ve got over 2000 CB hunts in World so I know the timing pretty well.
The only way you can trigger a savage axe activation with a guard point is if it triggers a clash. Otherwise you can only do it through a perfect guard.
"I think that's a guard point" Every guard point, the shield breiefly flashes white. That doesn't happen after the new element discharge move. It's not a guard point.
wait, lol.... Has it always been that way that you can actually charge your sword without first having to regain phials after charging shield? If its always been that way, I guess I might have just made things a lot more complicated than they could have been....
Been that way since at least World. Don't actually need Sword Energy to charge the Sword. It's faster if you load Sword Energy into your phials and then go into the Sword Charge, but you could do it regardless so long as the shield was charged.
@@InitialPowerD well no you're not wasting a phial that phial is used on the AED and the additional axe from AED is more damage than just SAED alone. also, if you have savage axe active, you only use half a phial for AED so you still get the full phial damage during SAED (i think)
@@PvtGlarb You already need to fully charge up the weapon TWICE to use SAED, and then you need to do it all again every time you want to use it. It's also one of the longest animations of any single attack. It was balanced just fine, and don't give me the nonsense that it's too powerful now that you can aim it, because they didn't do anything to greatsword's true charged slash, and that is an even more powerful attack even when accounting for phials, and it always took less work to get there than SAED. Now it's locked behind a combo, so you have to waste your wakeup attack on a less powerful strike, and there's no guarantee that you're going to have savage axe active.
@@MichaelRafferty-xb7iy Exactly, it's a longer process to reach the slam AND you'll be 1 phial short by the time you get there. I'm hoping there'll be a skill in the full game to offset the double charging for phials so that bit might not be a problem later.
