Since most people never reach their true skill ceiling, you can use hard work to overcome others that have higher skill ceilings then yourself, since you work harder. Benjamin Weber - basically exactly what you said, except I'd say rather than a predetermined ceiling, genetics simply decide your rate of improvement in certain areas. Naturally this means that some people can't ever reach places that others could, but I don't like the idea of a 'ceiling' until death (the absolute end of potential) has decided it for you. Because despite your genetics there is always something in your life that you could have done, or could be doing, to improve your standing before you bite the dust.
