Don't forget to watch in HD! Whew. Here we go, my first video with a voiceover. How exciting. I haven't quite got the hang of this video making thing, I need more practice. especially with voice recording. Please forgive the times I mispronounce things, I get so easily tongue tied! I'll get better at it in time. Thanks so much for your feedback on the last video, very helpful! If you have any other questions I'll try to answer them below or in another video. I won't be able to do a video for each sketch, but I would like to make these videos fairly often. Also, about what I said about finishing something every day. I work on a lot of long projects, ones that take a long time to finish. It feels nice to finish something, even if it is really rough and small. Thanks for watching!

Your work is so incredibly beautiful, and I am super impressed with the frequency of your video uploads!
You are a beast with the gouache 😱 & your voice is so soothing 😌
can you do a demo on how to use gouache .i have problem layering it without disturbing first layer
This is a beautiful drawing, I love it. The glossy, almost printed-page finish that spray gives is amazing.
So glad I found your work and videos!!! Love seeing other artists work and talk about their work.
I never thought of using the fixative as a saturation enhancement. Truly remarkable work Hannah. Thank you for posting these!!
Thanks for posting. I love your gouache paintings.
You are good at gouache painting. I'm trying to learn how to paint with it. I enjoy watercolor painting and I wanted to learn something new. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
I love your gouache paintings!
simply wow , there is soo much beauty in your work , i love all of them ...thankyou so much for inspiring me
Honestly, the workable fixative makes it look like a print. I like it.
Your work is sublime Hannah.
LOVE your style! You're so talented!
this is amazing, thank you for sharing! you are super chilled and relaxing to listen to - I am inspired to try gouache again!
I love this !!
so glad i found your channel, love your work
Wow, I love your color choices.
Your work is amazing and inspiring! I'll be waiting for every single video :)
Btw, this fixative gives an amazing look to the paintings!
Nice style ! I'm not this good with gouache but I like doing some sketches with it sometimes. it's a great media, you make it so cool with your style. You have a new follower =)
So happy to have found your channel! I love your art ☺️
You are really really REALLY REALLY talented!! I love your art❤️❤️
This is absolutely gorgeous!
wow your sketchbook is very clean and your art looks like it was printed that is great
This channel was a great find! I love your work, I hope you continue uploading more videos, they're great!
I use Windsor Newton gouache too. I didn't think about using a fixative to make it look glossy. I thought it was mainly used to protect the watercolor paintings and drawings.
Hannah, this is awesome stuff. We need to get you on #onefantasticweek. So many people would love to hear/see your interview. Keep this up! Don't stop! I say this as I'm working on my own commitment issues with art. 😉
Wow, very impressive! One idea about new sketch books, I never begin on the first page. I will open the book to a random spot and begin there, that way if it doesn't turn out all that great, you don't have to see it every time you open your book!
I miss your videos! Still visiting your channel with the hope you have a new video! It is so relaxing to watch, you're so talented!
This makes me want to try gouache. Beautiful sketchbook.
I LOVE all of your paintings in that sketchbook! Adore your style! Subscribed to your channel so quick! I really like gouache but I don't have a lot of experience with it yet. Love how the painting turned out! :)
I utterly *love* your gouaches! I know how to draw, but I don't know the first thing about how to *paint* - your choices of color are as baffling to me as they are amazing. Could you tell me anything about the colors you use the most, the ones you recommend? If I buy a set of tubes, most colors are pretty primary, but the colors of your palette are.. muted somehow.. Do you mix them yourself? What colors do you recommend and do you use the most, etc, etc?
Very beautiful! I like how your composition and colors feel. You inspire me to try gouache myself. ;)
in love with these gouache paintings! good job! I'm so inspired by this video uwu
Hey doni pancake I just found this awesome video of a gouache piece! its by this new artist JulianArt!
looks amazing!
you are painting very nice,i would like to see your new beautuful sketching videos!Good luck!
I am in love with your voice.
so soothing.
you are brilliant at guache. 💜
SO BEAUTIFUL!
i mostly agree but i think the paper does matter. i'm mostly a watercolor artist and the paper i use is really cheap and of poor quality, so it warps a lot and the watercolor pools, also it kinda makes these little balls of paper... i should buy a watercolor sketchbook
please. show more videos with gouache paintings. i love what you do.
Loved this!!
How do you control the amount of moisture in your paint? I have times when the paint dries splotchy...and my mixing on my palette gets too thin or dries too fast.
the thing special about the tools and the brands is that you can see first what you want and then choice what you will like the most, so you buy exactly what you want, no need to spend money on things you will not use or like. for an example I could spend a lot of money on cheap watercolor just to test them out, but if I make my research I can find the best watercolor for my purpose. of course if you have no idea of what you want there's no need to spend money on a specific brand.
this video was so good! I like what you talked about and the piece itself!
I agree with you for sure about materials and tools. I bought some "good" brushes, expensive brushes...and I can't tell the difference between them and my cheapos
. Great art btw.
Beautiful!
The more I was watching it, the more I found things I do. Like 90% of things you shoved in video, Im doing the same way and even materials are the same as I use. Its nice and weird at the same time, but I enjoy it ;)
i sorta adore your artstyle.
I really love this sketch! Your painting style is beautiful, congrats ;)
wow! you're so good with gouache, i've been practicing with gouache too lately. Still trying to get used to it. Looking forward to more videos like this :D
I really liked your commentary! Sometimes I find it discouraging to practice on things when they are unrelated to larger projects/work, but this was a nice incentive video :)
I love your work so much. What kind of gouache do you use if you don't mind me asking. It wasn't in the description. I bought some gouache but it doesn't paint how this one does.
You're art is amazing!! Can I ask what the finishing spray is you used at the end?
Ahhhh! You're so cool! 😂😍 Keep working and take over the world with your skills.
Beautiful style, you always find something really nice to paint :^)
You. Are. Amazing. Oo
love this! that palette looks perfect, where did ya find that?
you have a very soothing voice
I'm in love!
the materials matter depending of what you want to do with your art, if it's just for you and for practice or just for creating it really doesn't matter, but if you want to sell it or keep it for a long time, it kinda does cause some materials will last longer than others, talking about paper and paints mostly (also some paints are just much better than others ) but when it comes to brushes and such it really is all the same.
Do you use a fixatif specifically for gouache?
+Jeremy W No, it's mostly used for charcoal drawings I think. It's called Workable Fixatif and is by Krylon. Hope that helps! :)
Thank you :)
I can't buy Krylon in my country. Are there any other fixatives you can recommend that would give that glossy finish ?
I use fixative for pastel also.
What's funny is that paint quality and paper quality does make a difference, but to me, it seems like the only questions I get is about the paintbrush! LOL. Hey as long as it's springy, it's good!
Well done!
Aw, look how far you’ve come since doing this first voiceover. ❤️ I recently went back and listened to my first voiceovers video and was kind of amazed at how much I’ve improved since (in both art and video making.) hope you’re proud of your journey! Love this piece, and the sentiments. =^.^= maybe some day you’ll come back to us, but it’s okay if you don’t. You do you, boo boo!
Out of curiosity...do you use gouache or acryla gouache. I'm purchasing gouqche for myself, and I understand that acryla gouache won't activate the layers underneath. Is that what you used in this painting to make so many layers? Or is this like a designer or artists gouache?
It’s an artists gouache, not acryla gouache. You have to be careful not to use too much water or you’ll lift up previous layers, but if they layer underneath is fully dry and the new layer goes on somewhat thick, you should be ok. It takes practice to get the paint to water ratio figured out, but it’s not too hard.
Hannah Christenson thank you for the tips!!!
You are amazing! please make more vids :)
how many pages does your sketch pad have?
72, i think.
Inspiring, subscribed!
Dear Hannah, I admire al your works, digital and traditional, but I am completely in love with your gouache works, why, oh, why don't you post more gouache videos on youtube? I hope to see some new work soon, they are so inspiring!

Do you sell prints? something about your art just make me feel stuff.. idk
You is amazing ^-^
Love your work. Too bad you gave up doing videos
This reminds a bit of Dragon Age. I don't know why. Your so awesome though! I hope to be as amazing with gouache as you.
