It’s been 16 months and I still can’t believe he’s gone. I often wish I could go back in time and beg them not to get in that helicopter. He had so much more to give the world and his family. It’s heartbreaking.
Jordan, the other NBA players and even myself, we can't hold it together but Vanessa who felt this loss more than anyone except for the kids can and did. As "the Rock" for my family I know how important it is to be strong and resilent for the kids and she did it wonderfully with class. I also know how hard it is to keep things inside and hope she has someone to let the emotion out with but she has my utmost respect for how she has handled herself. For those of you that have to be the strong one remember you are not alone and there are those that are there for you as you are there for others. You don't have to hold in your feelings 100% of the time but kudos to you for helping others cope. When a hero falls his heroes rise up and are there to help pick up the pieces.
