me casually not even knowing what DI does:
@@sussybaka7522 it nudges your knockback direction. Sometimes not at all.. depends on the attack setting.. but it most of the time applies extra knockback to the direction you choose. So grab with di down? Always info a knockdown. No way to combo off a di down after grab. Ect. Three swing attack from cowboy. Di opposite of the attack? 2 out of 3 swings will miss and ends the combo. Ect.

That last battle was so INTENSE, had me at the edge of my seat towards the end too. So good

You can jumps over grab btw to punish people who spam grabs at close range
Addition attacks that put you in an air state like ninja’s drop kick, flying kick , and uppercut, or cowboys helm breaker ignore grabs since you have to be on the same horizontal plane as your opponent to grab them(not counting character specific command grabs).
Edit: forgot that Character specific command grabs( grabs in the special category of attacks) beat grabs with examples being robot’s bounds check and Command: grab.
You dont have to be on the same horizontal as your opponent to grab them, you need to be on the same state
so air grabs will only grab airborne opponents, regardless of their horizontal position. Same thing with ground grab, it can only grab grounded opponents
Also bounds check is special as it has special code written for it that makes it grab immune from frame 1, not sure about command: grab though

Fun fact: Brawler used to just br a dude mid development. Since came from the creator, and then they surprised us with a furry resprite on release. Goofy.

brawler is really good but its biggest flaw is that whoever coded it did a poor job with the knockback data so every multihit move can just be DI'ed out of
