It’s gonna be tough to move here now. Not enough housing to go around. We moved here last September and were in and Airbnb for 3 months without finding a place to rent. We ended up buying a house, but we looked at 15 and each house had 10 offers, and we only got the house we did because our offer hit the magic number. Some offers were 30k above ours, but crossed over the appraisal and we won by default. It is nice up here, but there just isn’t enough housing, Bozeman reported 0 vacancies in November, and I think Helena is the same. Houses are cheaper here, but there aren’t enough for the demand. The pandemic basically forced everyone up here who was already thinking about moving, and we just passed a law making it harder to build new homes. Make sure you really look into it before making the jump.
Idaho was beautiful too until everyone decided to move here. Keep posting these like everyone did about Idaho and your state will not be like that for long!!
I live in Helena. It is beautiful. But it is not all sunshine and roses. Like any place it has its subtle and not so subtle problems. Homelessness, a crime problem. Far too many tourists. I had to intervene in a situation where some guy was yelling and cursing at a woman in front of his kids and everyone else's kids including my own. There is a darker underbelly to Helena
Beautiful place but the local real estate market has been bought and sold and price gouged beyond belief. Average home price as of 07/2022 is about $450,000 and average household income is about $60,000. The American dream is dead there.
I would go to Talon Montana probably in the spring I was supposed to go to Paris in 2020 but couldn’t go to Paris due to the coronavirus that I could probably get to howl a Montana from Cheyenne Wyoming it’s only a 9 Hour Dr. well I have a friend that lives in Helena Montana to plan to visit how long that may be in the spring of 2022 this is amy Sullivan
