      "Remember, their entire goal is to make Humanity multiplanetary, and that is the goal" 😂 X to doubt. Starship is for launching 100+ ton military satellites and space weapons.... There's nothing on the barren dry cold radioactive desert of Mars where people would need to live underground. People will never colonize it permanently. It's a cover story.
      Starship is for more Starlink and encrypted military data links. And probably kinetic weapons, which will be feasible and cost effective now. SpaceX is the new NRO

      Given musk's political views and declarations im of the opinion that now he's demonstrated the technology and feasability of reusable launchers, he can go crawl back under whatever rock he came out of and let others take over. The guy is a total sociopath and traitor to the country that took him in, no doubt he'll answer for his words and actions in the near future.

    I worked at a surplus store in Winter Park, Florida. The boss scored a damaged heat tile that had been removed from a shuttle after a flight. Its like a piece of Styrofoam with the Magic Shell chocolate sauce that you pour on ice cream and it instantly hardens. Anyway, he put a torch to it, got it RED hot, took the flame away and immediately touched it. It was cool to the touch. It was amazing how quick it dissipated that heat.

    Loved the James Webb discussion at the end! It must be a great time to be an astronomer.
    One of the things I love about your videos is how you'll sometimes casually drop a term or phrase that sends me off on a diversion down a rabbit hole somewhere learning about something new. That's especially true of the deep dives, but it happens in the regular videos as well. This week it was the phrase "slosh baffles." What a fascinating subject! I'm still not sure just how they work, but the idea seems similar to the way a barrier reef protects a coastline from damaging waves.

    7:43 - maybe NASA's footage is more from the side and it could easily be seen how the plume interacts with the first stage and maybe even get temperature calculations from the footage. So if someone ( lets say a company in country on another end of the world ) is making a similar rocket to Starship, that would be very valuable information. On SpaceX video you dont see very well what is actually happening on top of first stage at separation.

    Love Team Marcus House work. Might want to display newish terms spelled out such as, "slosh baffle". Pretty sure that's what you said and meant. It costs nothing and adds to your educational clarity.
    Team MH really knocked this one "out da pahk" !! That James Webb finale' along with the collegiate quality narrative went into my brain like a cold beer after a hot day's work ! Most refreshing and stimulating. Great job guys !

    I have to tell you this and I genuinely hope you read it. My 4 year old nephew is a MASSIVE Muppets fan! And he was sat across from me this morning while I watched this. When it was over, he looked at me and asked with all seriousness on his little face, when did Kermit start doing space videos on UA-cam? 😂 I honestly never noticed this before, but I checked, and he is absolutely correct. Your voice sounds remarkably similar to an Aussie Kermit the Frog! 😅

    Whenever I see all the work going on at Starbase I can't help but imagine what it'll look like in 10 years or more. The vehicles and Stage 0 will look all clean and tidy, like something out of a Heinlein novel. I'm 58 this year, so I might get another 30 years if I'm lucky, but I want more! I want to see how this all turns out!

  • @FerrowTheFox
    @FerrowTheFox 4 місяці тому +1

    To your question at 8:55 - Even if the DOD or any military branch would own a Starship of their own with minimal SpaceX involvement, that'd actually be great! It would mean that rockets would become more and more like other vehicles, graduating from very specialized hardware that only few can field, to a common workhorse. Just look at planes. Lockheed-Martin or Boeing don't fly the missions for the US, they sell their planes to the military that then operates them. It is far less risky for a company to just manufacture and sell a product than to be responsible for operating it as well.

    Excellent video again Marcus, I look forward to these every week, always packed full of excellent content.! I just can't wait to see OFT3. Third time lucky I reckon!!
    One thing I was a little alarmed by, and this is absolutely YT's fault - one of the ads during this video was for a 'lumiwarm' heater, which happens to be a blatant scam, quite a well-known one in fact. It's a shame that great content creators such as yourself get these ads displayed from time to time, and it's disappointing that YT are still letting these scammers slip through the net!
