Functionality is always a deciding factor for me. The holes in the handle and the striking pumle are pluses to me. Both knifes will probably help get the work done🌲🌿🌱🍃🌴🌵

Yeah dude it was extremely difficult for me to say which one I liked better 😆. And I still love them both they are good hard working tools. There's just something about the curves and lines of a Kukri that lends itself to hard work in the forest and the evisceration of one's enemy in battle. When the Gurka soldiers arrived in Japan in WW2 the japanese stopped patrols at night because the Gurka soldiers were slaughtering them with their Kukris in hand to hand combat. Even though the Gurka had rifles they seemed to enjoy using the knife of their ancestors on the enemy. The Gurka fought in Afghanistan most recently and they are still ferocious warriors.

Great video! I have the K-tac. For my needs, it's pretty much all I'll need in that style of knife.

@@kendra2708 hell yeah that's a sign of intelligence in my opinion. A good knife is a tool that you can make more tools with. I always have at least one on me at all times.

That forward weight, balance point, must make the difference. Surely it feels more hatchet like (that I’m used to using)? More clout.
That Knives by Hand is a real beauty.

The leaf-spring metal info was interesting. Using what was available, but maybe if you contacted something really solid that you didn’t intend to, it may take the edge off the shock?

The KnivesByHand is a genuine Kukri from Nepal made by one of the wonderful blacksmiths there

I know this is a older video. I don’t wanna offend you. But do you know traditional kukuri sheath like the one you have is meant to be a cross draw. The reason mainly so you can hold the sheath from the top without having your fingers in the blade path. I see many western people wearing it wrong.
Personally I found out myself during a class on weapons. I study kali a Filipino martial arts but it uses many different swords knives and pretty much anything dangerous.
I really like the traditional knives by hand blade over the condor. I believe the condor is weighed wrong. My favorite kukuri is the original rat tail tang they are the wat the knife was originally designed. I believe the rat tail done right is as strong as anyone would ever need. Plus that design doesn’t give you vibrations when you hit something really hard. They are very easy to repair if handle breaks. Just a personal opinion.
Beautiful dog. Nothing better then a day in the woods with my best friend.

My favorite are also stick / rat tail tang for the weight distribution. Americans tend to want full tang.

Hard to beat a well made traditional Kukri...they are differencially heat treated and are much tougher than than most uniformly hardened commercially produced blades...woods

Yeah I agree 👍🏻 I am really partial to the one's that I have from Nepal. I love the traditional handle and just the slightly different shapes and yeah I nerd out over Kukris 😂😆
