    Great that they won’t chip up, that’s been one major flaw, personally I’d like the tour x in a double bend shaft. Great job! 👍🏻

    Great review. I have had a Ping Fetch for some time now and do well with it but I have my eyes on a Taylormade Spider S putter. I had a huge Spider putter years ago and remember it being the best putter I have ever had. Think I will look into the Spider Tour S counter balanced. I like elevated MOI. Awesome work guys !!!!! Thank you !

      @@todaysgolfer I can see why . I used it for the first time today. Played 9 holes. The think that struck me right from the start is how easy it was to line the ball up. Really felt like it was hard to miss the hole. On some longer shots I didn't quite make it to the hole but the ball was in perfect line toward the hole. Amazing. I am going to use it again tomorrow for 9 more holes. That putter is amazing. P.S. I really gotta say how much I so enjoy SImon and Neil's reviews. I really love their approach . Its like I am watching two golf scholars that really know how to get down to exactly the most important aspects of the various golf clubs. I also enjoy how they always get back to you. What an awesome golf channel. I feel like I have a couple of golf coaches. :). Thanks. Joe

    Can you tell me why I would choose a double bend vs a slight slant hosel? I understand one is face balanced and one has toe hang but what type of putter does each hosel fit? Beyond the straight back straight through as I don’t think that is really very common. Does one address a certain miss, left or right? Or is it how someone stands over the ball? Thank you.

      It really is the shape of your stroke and how you like the putter to feel/behave Cliff.
      Simon sees putting in straight lines (he prefers a face balanced putter), so he likes the putter to feel like it travels back and through on a straight line, that way he feels he can start putts on the intended line. For him a significant toe hang putter feels like it fights his stroke, giving inconsistencies in getting the putter blade back square at impact.
      There's plenty of golfers though that love slight or more significant toe hang putters as their stroke is either more arcing, or they like the feel of releasing the putter through through impact. Where that same releasing feel for Simon would be completely unnatural.
      Toe hang can be linked to where you miss most often, but don't see it as a cure just for a left or right side miss.
      Hope that helps?

    What’s the difference in face insert with the two different options

      @todaysgolfer  6 місяців тому

      The face insert for all the latest Spider Tour models is the same Kenny.

      @@todaysgolfer I saw the option for surlyn or aluminum in the “my spider” customization. Thanks for the reply in advance

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  6 місяців тому +1

      @@kennyandrade7868 Ok that makes sense. The Surlyn gives a little softer feel (and some will say slower ball speed) where the Aluminium is slightly firmer and faster.
      Give some thought to the ball you typically use. We're not huge fans of teaming a super soft ball with a super soft insert as you can end up with a very spongy impact sensation. You may feel it's necessary though if you play lots of gold on very quick greens.
      Hope that helps.

      The new model is PVD nick, so over time it will wear slowly but won't chip.
