I used 2.5MM the same length as the original ones, blue loctite and tighten it up snugly and let it sit overnight so far so good. Make sure your mesh is good
Also, if I were to upgrade the motor... I would recommend a 3674 1900kv motor. I would also highly recommend an esc cooling fan with higher rpm than stock. A 4074 motor would also neccesitate an esc change in my honest opinion (Like a 150a esc).

How did you mount the 3674 motor to the Redcat Valkyrie?
