I was just wondering when the 'girl-in-gown-wakes-up-all-alone-on-a-beach-with-no-recollection-of-who-or-where-she-is' concept was getting the Rolo Tomassi treatment.
Next video she'll be running through the woods, chased by something unknown and invisible.
Meanwhile I'm just waiting for the 90s metal "naked bald dude running around a cemetery" concept to make a comeback.
The ambient radio chatter in the beginning was giving off big Deftones - "Combat" vibes. Fucking love this

I'm really amazed that I've never even heard of this band. I've been into the mathcore/chaotic hardcore sound since the early 2000s
This is everything I've loved about this band throughout the years.
The dirty vocals at the end give me Number 12 vibes. I love that the snare was drug out for as long as it was. The subtleties in the drums at 1:02 were so sick.

@@curtisgrabowski6350 yep, haha, gotta love it! Reminds me of me when I was a kid. The area in Pennsylvania I grew up in had a pretty cool local music scene. None of us were as good at Rolo Tomassi...but we would organize shows at VFWs and old band halls. 4 of 5 bands would play. A band called Better Off Dead was the best in the area so they would always play last. It was a good time!
And you guys are fucking back. Amazing song. Always loved how huge your sound has always been, looking forward to the day I get to see you live again. Still hoping to see you in Japan one day. All the best!
I'm proud to be following this band since the very start, as always interesting. A lot of bands followed over the years don't bring the same level of anticipation.

except they are true originals, BTBAM just cuts and pastes songs and ideas from their influences

I love Rolo Tomassi, but I don't think they particularly fill the void DEP left me with. They have influences like shoegaze and black metal which DEP never did. The Armed to me is the true successor of DEP in every way

I don’t think Rolo is too similar if that’s what you took from my comment, there’s just something DEP had that no other band hit the mark for as far as my taste goes, and they’ve come the closest. I guess Car Bomb might be up there if we’re going off genuine similarities.
