Hi Steve Just to let you know that I bought the goddess V8603 and it works the beam I know you have the same problem and I would like to share this with you share this with you it works
AUTO AF is simply underdeveloped and does not come up even in the darkroom. For the rest, the flash is phenomenal with a new Profoto Connect kit. I am using it with Sony a7III. Just covered a GALA event, with dark or low light. Sony had difficultly focusing even with the AF ON on A1X. My Nikon D3 (D5) and SB 5000 had zero failure even with a smaller, red crosshair AF assistant. Always bring a trusted camera as a backup, especially when transitioning to the new setup and equipment. End thought - will keep A1X and possibly get a second one. Once you play with it, you will keep it. Quality is impeccable. The shoe mount does not rattle as the Nikon does it. No more TTL wire, just the Profoto Connect (round transmitter), and the A1X on CB-Mini-RC bracket. Done. I hope Profoto will give an option to reorganize the menu or program the buttons, AND a holster that could be attached to the belt, not the tourist like thingy. PS.. the light has continues and constant LED modeling light like no other flashes as I know (Nikon or Canon). Just push the dedicated button as needed to turn on and off. It can be used as a quick video supporting light when there are no other options. PS.. TTL is extremely accurate. When you shoot nudes or lingerie, girls get tired fast. With A1X you don't spend time correcting the light, just go with the creative flow. I would recommend having a spare battery ($119 at B&H). It takes about one hour to fully charge one. One more thing to mention. Any Nikon Speedlight user will love it. A1X head does not have the push/locking side buttons to press to rotate the head. Kinda like Godox has. Just turn it as you need in ANY direction. Nikon will charge you about $145 to fix them.
I would say that this feature is great only if you're the only photographer and there's no videographer trying to do their job... otherwise they'll see that HUGE assist all over the people they're trying to capture - but in AF-C mode, will this feature work if your flash AF Assist is set to AUTO?
Any real photographers knew that you can use the ATG's Quantum QFlash T2 or Metz 60CT-4 using ATG Auto2 work much better than TTL. But then many today photographers never heard of ATG's best flashes for pros.
hi on my sony a1 with the profoto a1x when i turn the af mode of the flash to on the laser patter is shiftet to the top right. when i look at the vievfinder. but my af on cam is in center. is this normal? can i manualy shift the af laser on the flash to center it right? is this also on your a1x?
DId you update to latest firmware for both the Sony A1 and the Profoto A1? are you using Profoto A1, or A1X or A10? Which parts do not work? does it fire at all? does it fire when you use it off-camera? Did it work before? Need more details.....
Now, Raph Nogal do it with the Profoto Air Remote TTL-S on the camera, won't work at all. That's because it has no ATG AF Assist Beam. Profoto didn't want to shed money to ATG. Profoto thinks that many pros DO NOT need AF assist beam. Guess again, they moved back to Canon/Nikon or switched over to ATG/Godox & ATG/Nissan. ATG/Quantum patents ran out & they didn't renew, so Profoto & many other copied QFlashes.
How dumb of Profoto & Interfit for not having ATG AF Assist Beam on their transmitter Remember the down fall of Pocket Wizard for not having ATG AF Assist Beam on their transmitters This overpriced weak flashlight doesn't even have ATG Auto2 features
That beam is a dream for dark dance floor reception images!!

@@cesarmackay7905 Are you talking about Sony camera?
Unfortunately it doesn't work for Z6II, and I am thinking of selling it after two uses.

@@RaphNogalPhotography thanks! Much appreciated!
What is the answer?
PPS.. I tested Godax and listed on Craig's list. If you are a professional, go with professional and reliable equipment.
