    Rest in power Benjamin Zephaniah.
    We never met one another,
but I will never forget you brother.
    Two socialist souls,
    with well meaning goals
and hearts that were joined at the lip.
    We may take a pause,
    before continuing your cause
    to mourn your passing,
    and to celebrate your passion
    for the suffering of others,
    for the fathers and mothers
who's children went hungry last night.
    We'll pick up your pencil
    and use it to stencil,
    the words
injustice is no justice at all.
    So rest easy brother,
till we do meet each other
in the stars that sparkle for all...

Brought tears to my eyes when he talked about the Dylan Thomas poem. Such an intelligent, genuine, sensitive soul. A cheeky sense of humour too. A great natural interview.

Classic BZ. Open and unmasked.. i did have the pleasure of meeting him after we already hooked up on MySpace where he "absolutely loved" the song i wrote about his OBE snub on channel 4.

RIP BZ - you've left for heaven too early. You were supposed to tell the story and indeed do so in full affecting all across the board. Undeniably you're immortalised thro' your works. Aren't you a legend in your own right that the world has witnessed?

War criminal Henry Kissinger gets to live to 100, yet a beautiful being like Bemjamin Zephaniah has his life taken away at 65. It's fucking wrong.

Interestingly in the 1980's the Sun headline run this "would you let your daughter marry this man"
He is working class British/Jamaican, we are the salt of the earth.
I achieved what his mother aspired to become. She wanted to be a nurse in the NHS.
      Interesting Documentary 1983 Channel 4.
