As a child, in the early 1960's, Ridgefield ws my home. I have many fond memories of this town.
My Aunt had a house in Ridgefield. I always love visiting her.. It's a beautiful town.. Great video

Newtown is probably one of singular best values in Connecticut. Many multi million dollar homes at a fraction of cost. What is driving this is hard to say. Yes it is a lovely community that had a horrible tragedy that knocked the wind out of this darling place. Combined with a clueless first selectman entire event brought much sadness to region.
The thing is that many fear elements of Danbury and Bethel will begin to spill over. Everyday things are changing and traffic on 25 is just unbearable now. Once a small town it appears to be getting swallowed by the NYC crowd as cheap permanent housing is becoming the magnet for unaffordable NYC and Westchester taxes for many. Taxes are not cheap , public schools are excellent in younger grades and overall a great place to live.
