1:55 it was a pad bug. Basically, when you hit the very edge or the side of a block that has a blue pad on it, your icon gets it's momentum reseted before bouncing up/down. If the bug didn't exist, your icon would've immediately changed gravity with the upward/downward momentum (which is the most expected thing that happens with blue pads) or it would just die.

i've beaten 5/6 of Michi's temple levels and honestly, Water Temple isn't great, but the other 4 i've beaten (lava, fire, shadow, desert) are good levels that i've beaten as landmark demons
