  • People said fusion was 30 years away and it always would be. But I don’t think so. Progress has been made. Here are four fusion fuels and some of their advantages and disadvantages.

I am a citizen scientist who been working on a problem for a long time. 😅
It is an open source fusion hypothesis that may have deep implications into physics.
It's basically an oscillating EM point discharge at various scales and wavelengths which initiate plasma.
It is unfortunately very multidisciplinary and likley touches on what humans truly value as a species. Which I find beautiful and paradoxical.
I just wanted to say thank you for your videos.
Restored a little faith in humanity for me. 🙏

What are your thoughts about dense plasma focus devices like the Focus Fusion project by Lawrenceville Plasma Physics?

I've been following them for a while. I think the Tri-Alpha team is better funded and seems more focused (same fuel, very different reactor). I don't know enough plasma physics to say that Focus Fusion won't work... so I hope they get there.

Im running my quantum computer with fusion! Powering an AI crypto miner!

Has there been any further research into muon catalyzed fusion besides the theoretical?
There's been great progress in neon generation, so much that the talk about a muon collider is starting to sound practical.

I have not read about that for a long time. I think that they have seen muon catalyzed fusion in lab settings? But the last I read (probably 2015), muon sources seemed unlikely to work. It's neat, though.

I have a question about your iron battery, would adding methylene blue and thionine help improve the voltage spread? (Especially if using a non-aqueous solvent.)
Do you still have some of your test equipment set up for testing that? Have one dye on the cathode the other one on the anode, though frankly I'm not sure which dye should go on which one. What do you think?

I will post a video on the iron battery when the next paper gets accepted. Alas, I'm no longer at the university where I did the iron battery work. My former student did some great work finding additives that improved its performance. That work really needs a wet lab and a decent potentiostat and I'm not really equipped to do it in my garage. I think Iron Battery 3.0 will be the end of it.

@@PeterAllenLab I'm thinking of trying to make myself one of those open source potentiostats I can't afford even a used one.
Thionine , methylene blue and that family of molecules as well as various cyanide like complexes seem like the best avenues to pursue to increase the potential and energy storage capacity.
But I don't have any of the necessary equipment to make such a lab.
