If your going to fly, then "Fly Navy".
Amazing
Wow Royal Navy is the best ❤
They know where they all are, good on you.
Needs at least 24 F35bs in peacetime and surge to 32 to 38 in wartime.
She has, I believe, 15. Her launch and recovery record was reached at Westlant 19 last year - "over 500" in the 11 weeks of the exercise, or 6.5 individual launches and recoveries per day. If she had 15 aircraft, that's around .4 sorties a day per aircraft, or three a week. That figure agrees very well with the sorties achieved with the 6 F-35B's deployed to Cyprus by the RAF last year, too - 99 sorties in 6 weeks. The objective of Westlant was said to be "to push HMS Queen Elizabeth and the F-35B to their limits". If that's their limits, we're in severe trouble.
I did want to be a pilot; I wasn't selected of course, most aren't. That was disappointing but now and especially with some experience I am really glad pilot selection is so rigorous.
I was at a desk when a young Royal Navy Lieutenant stood in front of me. (Young man 23/24 Wife young child new home) His eyes were red.
He had applied for Pilot training and because he was a star officer he was sent for section. Everthing fine ....
Gets a call from the unit Medical Officer after Pilots Medical. More tests needed. They are done.
"I'm sorry Lieutenant but you have a previously undiagnosed medical condition. You can not do flying training. ....... Infact you can nolonger remain in the Navy you must be discharged." !!
I was part of the discharge process. Heartbreaking !
Had he not applied for flying training he would have likely gone to the top. Own ship may be ?
Life ..... yeah
(Enhanced Flying Medical)
Weird... Everyone I know who applied to be a pilot in the Royal Navy got selected that is only 12 people though. All of which fly jet's 2 of them even fly the F35's which is cool.
@@pingu5543 people like me (less than 100% PERFECT vision) [unathletic, i am athletic] were already weeded out; keyword: selection bias
God bless Global Britain :=).
For a minute I thought this was referring to the physical protection of the Sovereign herself as opposed to one of her ships haha
Let's hope she wears a nice hat with some model helicos in it! Whoopawhoopawhoopa!
i don't illuminati much but when i do it's with men in black suits in black helicopters protecting the people from the truth about their lizard queen
not an actual lizard. a human being too. probably has a sense of humour.
I know. Shocking!
I want jets NOW.
John Hall I thought they would this month
John Hall It will be a joint RAF/FAA squadron but to my understanding it will permanently be attached to whichever of the two QE's that is on active service.
You cant just "add jets" to a ship. It requires training and developing new operations, procedures and doctrines. Why people don't seem to understand a ship needs time to work up is beyond me.
The over hang on the carriers is a bad design.
Every time I see this ship it has a next to empty flight deck.
If you aren’t using the aircraft they are below deck being maintained or at their home base at RAF Marham. Plus unless it’s actually deployed it won’t have its full inventory of aircraft anyway.
If the ship is in port in Portsmouth it’s a waste of time having the aircraft on it, they will be at RAF Marham training and being maintained. If the ship has to go to a particular port to have work done or a resupply it’s not going to be full of aircraft not doing anything.
A beautiful ship. Australia, Japan, & S. Korea should buy a couple to keep China, and N. Korea in check.
Yo
hoofing.
To the Commanding Officer of 820 NAS: Sir, please kindly stop overlaying Gay Music Cocksuckery on your otherwise good videos. GMC is what we expect from amateurs who don't know how to present a military video. Music has no place on a military video aimed at the general public unless: 1) It is a RECORD OF STATE, for example the best marine band in the world are doing their thing at a ceremony of some kind, 2) CREW RECREATION RECORDING where it is produced by equipment owned by off-duty personnel when off-duty, 3)JUDICIOUS CONSIDERATION advises inclusion as a cultural necessity, for example the old BBC clip from the Falklands Policing action overlaying WE Are Sailing by Rod Stewart, justified by the fact of its huge popularity among task force personnel. Please, sir, ensure that you do not permit attempts to RANDOMLY DRAMATISE, especially when you have already dramatic images and their appropriate sound track, for example aircraft engines, the hum of machinery for example deck lifts, hoists, revolving turrets. Allow the natural sounds to be your music. No GMC can compete with that for effect. Thank you for your attention
It is incredibly safe to say the CO of 820 will not read this comment. I’m glad.
