Unboxing a Gibson Explorer guitar kit 

I bought this explorer from guitarkit.com. I chose the mahogany neck and body with the Rosewood fretboard. I’m planning on doing a tribute to Alan Collins’ 58 Gibson explorer that he played with Lynyrd Skynyrd from 76 to 77. His is made of Karina wood.

Yes, I plan on showing the whole process. I actually just bought a soldering iron the other day.

I've had the pleasure of recording in the same rooms as those guys in Muscle Shoals Alabama. I got fired from the house band of hired guns called the swampers. Because I accidentally took a piss in Hank Jrs guitar case while sleep walking drunk at the studio.

I haven’t done much except do some sanding on the neck joint. I’ve had a lot going on recently, but I will try to get back to it soon.

Glad you mentioned Allen (R.I.P.). Everyone else seems to associate the explorer to the worst band, *ever*… Metallica.
