The song was not saying that she couldn't live without him, it was saying that he couldn't live without her. It's about her relationship with G-Easy. She protected him and helped him out of hard times. But he stole her money for dangerous illegal drugs and he thought he was better than her. He thought he didn't need her even after everything she had done for him. So after a long toxic relationship she broke up with him and called the police. He was sent to jail for all of the drugs that he did.
I actually died laughing when you guys were joking about splitting bills and her saying “I pay more!!!” This is literally a realistic fight in America I swear 😂😂😂😂

I really love halsey's music a lot but she's not very popular because she's always in the midst of scandal. Dates the wrong people, does questionable things, and fans who have gotten close to her come back with stories of her being a really shitty person. Most of her songs are bangerz but they are underrated because of her behavior, it's really a shame
Actually in Europe you do split the bills often but sometimes the girl or the boy treat their partner but most people split the bill haha
In Korea i could be wrong .....but boy pays more than girls in general~ hahaha

And Halsey, in her instagram, she said that the story in the video depicts some of the relationships that she has been in, or some of her loved ones went through. And she tries to pass the message that we deserve more and that it's ok to NOT want to be taken advantage of :) And that we all deserve hapiness (sorry for the long comment :P ) lov ya
