So glad Mercer has continued to make music. He is my favorite artist and is overwhelming underrated.

Man, James always blows me away with how tight he is with his vocals... singing along with the Shins has always been a humbling experience but live you really get slapped in the face with just how bloody good he really is.
Such an underrated performer as so many other people have mentioned. He is so amazing live and his albums are always so different. So glad I discovered his music.

I really don't care for the last two albums either, but some of the songs are gold with just him and his axe. The Shins broke up, or rather he broke them up, so he should just use his name or start a new band. But what do I know.
I very strongly agree with you both. My favorite album of their's is Oh, Inverted World. I still love the band, don't get me wrong, but I just feel like it's not raw anymore. It doesn't have that old charm that they had when it was just Marty, James, Jesse and Dave. I just wish that they had never separated. It makes me very, very sad.
Felix Tody Oh, Inverted World is my favourite too. The first 3 were all gold though.
I agree! I love all three of the first ones. After that, admittedly, my love starts going down a bit. Like I said before, I still love all of them, but after Wincing The Night Away, Chutes Too Narrow and Oh, Inverted World, they're not as organic and just-- Augh, I can't explain it. You guys understand me, though... Right?

James, All your newer songs are as golden wonderful and golden as the earlier years.....Great enjoyment but it would be great if you could maybe do a song again with tthose enjoyable earlier band members Jesse Sandoval, Martin Crandall, Dave Hernandez seen in Phantom Limb and Australia. I watch those videos and enjoy your music over and over again!
