LP identifies as nonbinary, and uses the pronouns they/them. But, LP will not correct anyone who calls them, she/her for fear of losing fans. I know someone who identifies as nonbinary. They told me that some days they feel more feminine, and other days, they feel more masculine. So, it's okay. Using they/them pronouns is perfectly fine. We just need to respect them in every way!
LP is a phenomenal songwriter/performer. I love everything about them. Their hair. Their lip. Their whistle. Their swag. Their fashion. Their personality. Their ability to play instruments. Their voice. OMGosh, their voice!!! Absolutely fabulous!

If you listen to the lyrics, I think its about a form of a baptism of some kind. Might not be the classic baptism but a different version of a baptism. "I will ask you for mercy, I will come to you blind, im the last of my kind, in the muddy waters were crawling, hold me down, sold me out, in the muddy waters were falling ". Muddy waters reminds me of when people get baptized in rivers or backwaters etc

I just found you but I love how well you respect them. They have said they go by she/her but hate it. It would just be too much to get everyone to use they/them.
I think LP uses she and they, either way, you could just call them LP, that's what fans and friends call them. I think only distant relatives say Laura (she was doing an impression of her Long Island relatives at the soundcheck/ Q&A before a concert I went too 🤣 so funny)

Laura Pergolizzi. LP is basically non-binary (doesn't identify all female or all male... sort of in a social/societal context. But also not trans). I did hear them answer the q at one point in an interview. All I remember is after the person asked the q, Idk why but I looked at the date & remember the year '21. LP said "they/them" that they're feeling that's more of their direction. They also identify as lesbian so they're not saying they're not female genetically (ish... that's my translation as I understand it in general and in combination w/seeing LP answer the q). I still say "she" at times but I'm trying to honor the pronoun. I LOVE LP.

They backed away and it was still so powerful when they belted toward the end. I try to respect the pronouns too, Nick . And I do. But to be honest, it bugs me using a plural pronoun(“they”) to talk about one person, lol. They really are one of the best high belters in the world. I’ll give them that.
If it helps put your brain at ease, using "they" as a singular pronoun has actually been a part of the English language since at least the 1300s and is absolutely still part of normal, modern English! It's generally used when the gender of the person in question is unknown or unspecified and it's a totally established grammatical pattern, not just a new-fangled modern convention.

It sounds ridiculous in the possessive though - They new track makes no sense at all, in the other hand her new track does.
Similarly if someone woman were swimming in the sea surrounded by people but started drowning, it wouldn’t be helpful if you noticed and ran up to the life guard and said look ‘ They’s drowning’ and he goes ‘ who’s drowning’ and you reply ‘They is over there’. He’s probably gonna say, ‘they?’ hang on , I need to go and get some help😂
I saw an interview, where she/they spoke their pronouns. To paraphrase, she said When I'm clothed I am however I want to be. When I'm naked I'm female. In said interview L.P. was content with any pronoun. Didn't really seem to care either way.
LP is a cisgendered female who does go by she/her. At least I havent heard her say/announce otherwise. But thank you for respecting the pronouns! She's just awesome isn't she?!
She said she is female and a lesbian, but she isn't sticky about pronouns (she's a no BS GenX), she, they, him, whatever.
Just say "LP", no pronoun ever necessary.
