    Slow, mIssing some parts (looks like they have an absent keyboardist) and a few flubs but also some moments capturing lightning in a bottle: this is NOT an easy set of songs to play.

      "Something's Coming" is from WEST SIDE STORY; Todd did a version on TODD RUNDGREN'S UTOPIA: ANOTHER LIVE.

    First of all, kudos to clichematic for tripping out the video! Secondly, saw this show. Very bittersweet with Moogy Klingman succumbing to cancerless than a week before this show and the rest of the band covering for his loss on the keyboards. Im so happy this video exists. i HOPE MORE FROM THIS TOUR pops, especially with the forthcoming reunion of Utopia Mach II.

    When this song/album came out, a local company used the middle part jam of song as background music for their radio commercial. Thankfully I can still remember these things from high school. 😀

      It was a commercial for JB Robinson Jewelers. Came to mind last night. I was driving my car to high school baseball practice when I heard it.

    Infact after all these years i am still hoping for somekind of official audio/video release from this reuniontour. Wouldn't that be just great and wouldn't it also be a great tribute to Moogy Klingman? andalso a great gesture for Todd/Utopia fans, like me living in Europe, who weren't able to be present at one of these concerts...

    To the original (best) Utopia members, Kevin, John & Ralph I say job well done. Y’all did a great job and pulled off two of the hardest and best Utopia songs ever (Another Life & The seven Rays) with only a few glitch’s! To Todd, wtf? Did you even rehearse these songs dude? Never seen him play as badly as he did here, let alone mess up the timing to the extent he did. Smh.. New fill in Synth guy...you definitely didn’t even bother learning the parts and it showed, especially your solo on Another Live. Wow, it was so bad it made me cringe just listening to it and the rest of your attempts to play the material weren’t much better. Ugh 😩 sorry to be so brutal but I call it as I hear it. P.S. John is still a Bass beast :)

      I don't think Todd had a lot of time to prepare for this, plus he has to sing all the lead vocals. I think overall he did pretty well on some very intricate songs. The other guy on keyboards appears to be Kasim Sulton, who is not known as a keyboard player. He's there mostly for back-up vocals along with Jesse Gress. Ralph is handling most of the keyboard parts alone.

  • @richardfarmer6198
    @richardfarmer6198 5 років тому +2

    Kasim on keyboards, absolutely CLUELESS! They should have canceled this tour when Moogy passed!

      Don't know if you're right here as i seem to remember this tour was more or less set up to cover for Moogy's large pile of bills for medical expenses caused by his fight against cancer...
