Are yous till on the Vivid 350 package? If so could I ask what your upload speed currently is today? It seems since last month mine got cut down from 36-37Mbps to 22Mbps...
It's actually a imitation of cable infrastructure and technology, it's from its days as a TV service, the tech original only did one direction down to the customer. When they wanted to start doing upload then had to use a low end frequency on the line which is very prone to errors. This is why with virgin's tech they will never be symmetrical :/. Need a dedicated fiber for that
Hey, I’ve been having problems with VIVID 350. I use a PS4 for my gaming and the wifi only delivers 5MBPS at peak, meanwhile I did a speed test on my phone and it delivered 40MBPS at peak. Can any one help me understand and inform me of further steps to get better speeds for my PS4 please?
The ps4 wifi card is rubbish sadly you can't beat a wired connection if this isn't possible try looking into a powerline adapter they aren't perfect but should help with your connection issues and they are a pretty cheap fix tbh
The reason why the diffence in up/down is the DOCSIS standard currently adopted in the UK! i believe its v3.0 and its only when one upgrades to v4.0 that you start hitting fiber like up/down ratios not quite 1:1 but 5:3 so for example a 1Gbps DOCSIS 4.0 plan would hit 1Gbps down and 600 Mbps up!

Well, I've recently moved from Sky to Virgin and i have to say its been crap. Mine is 108Mbps. Fair enough I can exceed this when connected via Cat5 cable, but not many do nowadays. My download speeds have been as low as 9Mbps and never higher than 48Mbps with a wireless connection. With Sky and sitting in exactly the same place in the house with wireless I was getting around 60Mbps. I can get faster if I hack into next doors TalkTalk box. If Virgin advertised it as you get this speed ONLY via a Cat5 connection then fair enough, but they don't. As for the call centre help thats another moan.
Try resetting the hub 3. Its a crap router so many use an alternative which improves performance greatly. I must admit i do not get as bad results as you are getting so maybe also try seeing if the band your router is on is busy and getting interference from neighbours. You can change this.
@@ricco123tube I've actually done all this. They sent me the wireless booster kit. Not a lot of difference. Only brought the download speed up a little. The irony is they want to charge me an extra 3 quid for the booster. I'm sending them back. I'm looking for an alternative to buy outright.

No it is not worth to get virgin. Never on minimum speed. Call their customer support all routes to india and they will keep on saying the same thing, - there is some work going in your area that is why you will have lower speed, which is a lie. It is better to get Bt, Zen, Talktalk etc.. not virgin. Yes the speed is lower than Virgin media but not worth paying 2 times the price of the speed you won't get until and unless you plug your laptop or PC directly with an ethernet cable.
So an ethernet cable connected directly from the router to your laptop is around 170mbps. I phone the cancellation line when i need help, usually get through to the UK call center. Why do they offer vdsl2 upload speeds, when this clearly not a vdsl2 service. A 350Mbps downstream should have at least 100Mbps upstream.
