First question. Why don't they use 3x3 robot scramblers for WCA competitions? This would help avoid these situations as well as having a couple of people checking all the cubes before being handed over to competitors. Second question, can anyone translate all of what is being said here into English & any other languages, it sounds interesting? A bit more context in the description of on what's going on here would help as well 👍.
I'm not an expert but here are a few reasons 1: expensive Robot scramblers would likely be expensive unless some business made some cheap ones, in addition to this the robots would also have to be tailored to the wca scrambler. 2. Mistakes Robots still can make mistakes
Robots are way too expensive, difficult to program for competition (where some cubers will be on the 4th scramble while others may be on the 2nd for example), still require people to put the cube in in the correct orientation, and can still make mistakes. Will be a long time before they're ever used
@@sungegg I don't buy the expensive argument, if it's needed, better. WCA may use sponsors to build revenue, advertising. They have to buy stop watches, stack mats, timers, pay for venues etc., marketing, websites, staff to maintain and pay for. It's just one more thing that can be added to the costs of running events... It can be included in the registration price. I didn't say it would eliminate mistakes but with proper policies and procedures in place it would help towards minimising the mistakes. Also I mentioned after they are scrambled they would still need a couple of people checking the scrambles before they leave the scrambling table.
