LEE!! Thank you. I’ve been watching your videos for about a year.
I work in a screenprint shop and do all of the pre press separations, film printing, etc and there is nothing worse than masked files, non expanded fonts and pasted raster images. You’re speaking my language. I wish people understood this 🙌🏽

Thanks man! I do all that stuff here and the amount of files I get like that drives me insane, especially when it comes from proper designers or design firms. I've called and chewed out a few of them for this stuff 😂

@@leestuart38 I deal with a lot of trade work business and industrial firms here and at least once per month I’ll get a jpeg photo of an old printed T-shirt or the logo on the side of a work truck and asked to print it with no files. The utter shock when I tell them it’s going to cost them some design time is unbelievable. It’s 2020!
Can’t wait for whatever you’ve got coming next man. Appreciate all your tips, tricks, learnings and advice.

"Make sure you have a saved copy of your artwork." "This way is destructive!" OMG! Words to live by. The logo for my husband's company... the logo that I hand drew and spent countless hours perfecting... All had to be recreated in Illustrator after I jacked up a version that just so happened to be my only surviving copy. FML!

    I tend to use CTRL/CMND + 2 to lock objects (CTRL/CMND + SHIFT + 2 to unlock) so I can't touch or move them.
But CTRL/CMND + 3 is super helpful as it hides and unhides shit (CTRL/CMND + SHIFT + 3 unhides) when you don't want to see it. Means you don't have to go into your layers panel and hit the eye every time!
Hope this helps anyone in the chat!

LOL LITERALLY THE FIRST STEP is not possible.
so what is the step BEFORE compound path? because everyone starts here and i am missing ALL the info before you get to that point.
All i have is 1 text box with 6 letters in it. literally placed text, wrote text, then chose a color. and i cannot compound path it. so what is the step before compound path? how do you prepare the design to be compound pathed? because the text is idle grey for me. compound path is not an option.
