Daniel you are an awesome dad. The things you do with all 3 kids is amazing. Houston has done and seen things that most could only dream about. Your deer hunting with Emily and Houston makes my husband so envious. He will be 70 in December and has hunted for years. My son had a 135 lbs doe all dressed out. Sorry about your pond Houston and your bluegill. We went one day and in 1 hour had 26 bluegill. They were all small. The big one that died was huge. Even the small ones were still big. Maybe 1 day you will go fishing and catch that bass or one of the bluegills you put in the pond.🐟🐟🐟❤

He has two amazing parents that are raising him with the respect, knowledge of life, common sense, and all the attributes young people used to be raised with. Thank you both for being such wonderful roll models and loving parents. All your children will look back from the future with pride and deep loving respect for y’all.

🤔 I thought maybe you were going to add a plank outside and rock ladder inside and make a filtered pool for the ducks and geese😉
Turtle pond is a great idea; it'll go huge in a space that big. I had two red-eared sliders as a kid that grew from ½ dollar to large dinner-plate size when taken out of a standard 20 gal aquarium. The filtration system is a must for turtles, too.

That's probably the biggest bluegill that I have ever seen. I'm sorry that it didn't make it. My late husband had an indoor 55 gallon tank that he stocked with a bass, bluegill, and crappie. Keeping that thing clean was a challenge to say the least. That was about 35 years ago, so I'm glad that we returned them back into the wild. I drool every single time you go to that pond. My mind wishes that I was there with you, casting my Mitchell 300 on an Ugly Stick. I'm old now and haven't been bass fishing since he passed in 1989. I sure miss it. We used to wade in the Raisin River or boat fish in the lakes. Those were fun times! Going hunting and fishing with you and Keeping it Dutch always makes me happy.❤❤

Daniel you should be able to pull most of that dent out with a farm jack. Place some timbers on the inside to keep from damaging the bottom. drill a hole just under the rim and run a bolt 1/2 inch or larger thru it. Loop a chain about a foot long on the bolt one end on the inside one on the outside. Place the jack on the inside and hook the chain and start jacking.

Houston has such an amazing spirit!! Daniel I know you felt bad about that blue gill but I’m so glad you didn’t eat it and returned it to the pond. I don’t think Houston would have ever forgiven you if you’d had eaten it. Houston is without a doubt a sweetheart and a sensitive soul and it’s easy to see he’s trying to figure out the whole balance between hunting and fishing as a sport and doing it as a means to feed himself and the family. Those fish were his pets and it wouldn’t he was right about not wanting to eat it. There will be lots of catch clean and cook opportunities that won’t have any emotional attachments. Way to go and listening to your son and not just doing what you wanted to do. Some many parents think automatically that they know what’s best but sometimes our children can teach us things as well! God bless! Ya let’s get an Aquascape POOL that Houston can swim in and also have enormous fish swimming with him!!! 🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦

Love those bronze ducks, are they runner ducks?🤔
Great idea for a turtle environment...just make sure you put some netting, or bird proof wire mesh over it, or the birds will attack your turtle. 😘

  • @scottdahl1938
    @scottdahl1938 Рік тому

I would still be tempted to take a shot at banging that bent up tank back to working order. Any holes can be soldered with brushing a little acid to remove the galvanizing. If it looks real good you can go to town on painting it with pool paint after it's been primed right. You might need an extra water tank in other areas of the property and it is nice just to go jump in one of those things when it's hot rather than wading in the creek or running down to the pond when you want to go swimming.
When it comes down to it: Stuff happens! Figure out what can be done about it if anything then move on.

Daniel, you are so kind about everything you do and you try to please everyone in your family… You’re very considerate man!! I truly feel bad for the loss of the big blue gill fish. I think it was probably the prettiest blue girl I ever saw. ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Growing up on a farm, we fished with a cane pole for bluegill and sunfish and catfish. I’m just about anything else we could catch on our pole, and I can feel your pain, because it was just a freak accident that large bluegill died within a second of it, jumping out of your hand. There’s no way you could’ve known that would happen, nor should it have happened! We’ve all had our hands on a fish it would get loose because they’re so slimy and just the way they’re built, in land on the ground, and even though you pick them up right away, they don’t die. I have never seen a fish die in an instant because it was out of water. Please be good to yourself, Daniel, and let this go as one of those things we have NO control of.!!! IF IT WOULD’VE BEEN ME, I THINK I WOULD’VE TAKEN A PICTURE OF HIM BEFORE I THREW HIM BACK IN THE POND BECAUSE, I THINK IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BLUE SUNFISH I EVER DID SEE!!
On a different note, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody so relaxed as they drove a tractor if you were Daniel. You look like you belong down a tractor and you looked as if You could do that all day long❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
This note is for Houston; I think you were very grown-up in the way you handled the death of this special fish. You were more interested in reassuring. Your Dad that it was OK then if you thought about your own feelings, and cried and carry-on. I thought you were so mature, and you were sincere in that maturity of what you did and said. You are a very cool young man and I know you appreciate this time you have together with your father. My father has passed away, and I miss him every day, but I treasure the memories of all the things we did together, and nobody can take that from you. You are a special young man to have such a great Dad❣️❣️ Happy fishing😊♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Oh no! I thought it was going to be his new fancy pond. Very glad the severe weather didn't harm you all. The goats would love to eat the leaves and bark off the limbs. Sorry Houston about your pond. He's had that for a long time. That is one fancy tractor man. go big or go home huh? You could never have come this far on only a policeman's salary Daniel...I'm proud of how well you all have done with the farm and youtube to make you a grand living for the family. Blessings!

That water is awesome for the grass! All fish tank water is great for grass and plants.

So sorry you lost that huge Bluegill! The idea of using the smashed stock tank for Houston's water turtle is awesome.

I know DJ isn't that fond of the feather families but you all have some of the prettiest feather babies. Especially your new turkey. I hope some of the baby turkeys turn out as handsome as he is.

Very surprised how grown-up Houston is now I remember when I first started watching you guys he was just a youngster he’s not so young anymore. My goodness he’s grown and I remember back when they told you on UA-cam that Houston couldn’t be on TV in your videos because he was too young, or something of that nature and now look how big he’s gotten.😂❤

Sorry for your loss 😢. Tank could be used by the ducks and geese. Baby goats could use it turned over as a shelter if you cut an opening for them to get under it. 😊
